I'm pretty sure that Local Group policy setting in GPEDIT does nothing. I mean I don't think they would limit the bandwidth by default so enabling it is just manually setting what they have automatically set. The function would exist for small business networks that do not have a domain controller and want everyone to be able to access the internet without one single person tapping out all available bandwidth.

Hey guys, had problem with this video, he says follow exactly what he does yet doesn't show the important part, nor does he help anyone with Windows 7:

For 7 users:

open start menu and start to type "edit group policy" and it's right there

then click administrative templates>network>qos packet scheduler

there right click limit reservable bandwidth and click edit

then following the video - enable, 0%, apply like in the video it looks different in 7 but you will see clearly

The reason this doesn't work for most of you, and me, is because windows 7 home basic/professional don't have gpedit.msc !

Please vote up so that the people coming here with it know this.

There is a manual way to do this but it takes some research.

@emin257 read the below post for p2p, vista should have an automatic search bar into the start menu, you just type run in that and hit enter. if that does not work try start>programs>accessories and should be sitting right there bud

sorry guys, umm on vista you dont have the gpedit so you cant do that, the blizzard downloader shouldnt cut off unless your p2p is disconnected because the p2p server is down, so i suggest keeping the downloader strictly downloading with p2p on until it is up and running

Still stuck? i figured it out now :p click on the administrative templates(computer configuration), then network and then click the QoS packet scheduler and then (lol) it takes you to that last bit where you can see at the end of the video and you click on properties of the limit reserveable bandwidth ( as shown on the video)

I had 9 torjans on my laptop so i wiped it am im downloading as i type.. probably still downloading when you read it :P

I started downloading the original wow since 19:00 and now its 08:39 so its gone rite throo the nite and its on 92% si ut will take its time but eventually it will download

i would definetly recommend leaving it over night because you sleep so fast and by the time you wake up the DI would have finished and you can fly through the updates :)

P.S it wasn't patch 3.1.0 it was just a regular patch 3.9 something so the 3.1.0 patch is going to take 5 times slower to download :D
