(air guitar)... tell you about this 80 year old lady.... named Madalaine. Kip Winger f*cked a chick with an old name.... (chorus)... Madalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaine. Beware of her gums, be aware ancient pussayyyyyyyyyyyy.
WOW! Killerdelfin.... for a minute there I asked myself if maybe I used to have a different Screen name on Youtube. You have it so very nearly perfect. 1. Def Leppard 2. Scorpions 3. Dokken 4. Great White 5. Whitelion 6. Whitesnake 7. WInger 8. MSG 9. Skid Row 10. Trixter 11. Ratt 12. Firehouse
So awesome live. Reb hits those high melodic notes its awesome. Of course hes a fricken amazing guitarist. Winger is one of the few 80's bands that had pure talent under the engine.
uh thats not true at all. hair metal had plenty of great talent (more than thrash). rap by definition requires no talent, they dont sing or play instruments. talented bands include danger danger, van halen, guns n roses, bon jovi, firehouse, wasp, cinderella, ratt, skid row, def leppard, bonfire etc... and thrash has metallica and metal church and no one else so there you go.
jeah, when you're playin' bass and singing high notes the same time you're tireing your voice by doing unhealthy belts and it can't be controlled. For example listen to the first chorus the time he sings "beware of the girl, beware of the pain" he goes too high in his voice, meaning he's actually doing an accidental unhealthy falset...
spot, he sounds a bit out of breath too, I bet he burns off 1000+ calories per concert performance...a lot of people don't realize what it takes physically to sing like this under the heat of stage lights fighting off bad monitor mixes and noise just to hear yourself...his voice, like Steve Perry's, has
paid the price a bit over time...his range seems a tad lower these days.
guess no non-musician or non-actor knows how draining it is to stand adrenalin-rushed in the light of 20 2kilowatt lights in front of an audience and do your show, especially sing. when i still remember the first show i played in my life. it was only like 25 minutes but you could have buried me after it, i would have never imagined it being so hard before:D
Kip Winger is a very good bass player and a very good singer too
But I think it's too hard (for him) to do it together so maybe that's the reason why he stops playing so much cause in the studio you dont have too record it at the same time
Actually sounds to me like they are tuned a 1/2 step from the original recording. Kip is in key here. They must tune down that 1/2 step live. There is no way the guy could sing the original recordings all night. If we were there we wouldn't have even noticed. Their playing it smart here. Good band....too many JUST LIKE THEM at the time.
ya, the vocals are off in a few spots, but it's a live rock show, if you're looking for perfection, you won't find it in this kind of venue, not even Labrie and Dream Theater are perfect and they're as close as you could hope for, if you're talking about LIVE REAL PLAYERS, and not lip sync'd taped bullshit.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
There's only one problem w/ this video: Kip's vocals're off key! Ouch! I started watching & couldn't continue; it was just too painful to watch! Yowza!
That was not bad i seen them with posion it was the real line up reb, rob, paul, kip it was pretty they got alot of fire still in this show i think overall 8 out of a 10.
he has prolly the best rock and roll voice of all time, it's almost impossible to hit for most males and no females can even attempt it. his energy in this video is incredible, just an awesome performance,
he really gives it up for the fans. that's the real fucking deal there.
I love Kip's voice. It's unique & rare, but I wouldn't say it's "impossible" for females to have that kind of sound or range. Most people probably couldn't pull it off, though...
umm...WOW! this fucking awesome! Kip's voice is unreal. i mean shit between that opening scream and the key change around 3:17... there isn't a better singer out there. plus Reb is just killer.
only Perry, Harnell, Tate, Labrie, Sebastian and a few others compare with Kip's vocals, I can't think of a mo' better hard rock singer....Perry is top at pop, the others are all prog metal guys.
when i die i wanna come back as Kips Bass or Rebs guitar wouldnt that be sooooooo nice

one of the few? which bands have you been listening to?

80's rock was like rap today. There were so many garbage bands out there. Winger is one of the FEW bands that has solid talent on every corner.
