video is good---------- HOWEVER---------After researching over 20 hours to find a great camera I chose this one for it's low light shooting. The camera has turned out to be a step down from my older canon powershot sd1000 now over two years old. I even bought the more expensive Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1 for a couple days and it too turned out worse images than my old but trusty canon 1000 also. a week ago I got the cybershot w290 and it was the worst "digital" camera Ive ever owned. the picture quality is so poor its actually not much better than the 2mp camera on my iphone 3G. I took it back yesterday and got the cannon SD960 and to my surprise, its picture quality is not much better than the crappy cybershot. my old 4mp camera takes pictures that are like 10 times better than either of them so If i was you, I would get a less expensive 4-6mp camera.

from what I understand, cameras with higher megapixels have to fit that number of megapixels into the same "space" as with fewer megapixels. if you want to see the poor quality of this camera, I have videos on my channel. the vidoes are good but the stills are horrible. well I took mine back today., I traded it in for the Cannon SD960. it does everything the cybershot did but the photos are 10 times better than the cybershot. I think the cybershot takes better video though. but then again, im testing out the cannon right now in poor lighting conditions. if you go to my channel you will see my cybershot videos., tomorrow I will make some with the cannon and you can see the difference.

it can have wide angle mode, tele mode and u may turn off the wide angle lens.

tele mode automatically takes u to 4.6x optical zoom and u may only go up to 5x.
