Definitely one of my personal favorite old school hardcore bands, H.R.'s voice is the most unique thing i've ever heard. The only thing I don't like about this band is how unpredictable they can get.

I saw them at the Country Club in Reseda, Ca. I think '87. The hair on the back of my neck and arms still stand up around 2:40 of this song. I'll never forget seeing that black guy with all the dreads screeming soulfullly IN KEY on stage to such out-of-control, yet tight-as-fuck rhythems. I kept the shirt. It's sooooo thin and fragile I cannot wear it, but I still have it folded in the closet. Though a die hard Dead-Head, I have always loved good Punk. And damn-it this is good!

hehehehe seems everyone who loves this band has a connection to this song! Mine is seeing it performed live in DC in 85 before this album ever came out!!! @MyDoomedAccount...HELL NO YOU'RE NOT!!! I can rmember still, when the pit just exploded at that point in the song!! PURE CHAOS, SHEER HEAVEN!!! I've seen a load of bands since then, but these guys will forever be one of the best live acts EVER!!

i concur, these guys are wayyy more intricate and diverse, black flag had really bad albums torwards the end with rollins and they were overly simplistic and experimented wayy too much with atonal. bad brains has an amazing sound because they started blending punk with thrash elements and legit talented musicians (they were originally a jazz band with loads of talent) which was unheard of at the time where everyone was just picking up instruments to start a hardcore punk band.
