I agree. I compare this to Chris Cornell and Soundgarden/Audioslave. I saw Chris with his new band last year, and walked out of half of the set. The bassist, drummer, and guitarist, all triplet versions of Anthony Keidis and the bald lead guitarist seemed like models with instruments. The lead guitarist kept saying, "You know the words, sing along!". It was karaoke, or 'sing the hits with Chris". Perry's lead was impressive, but yeah, it's no Jane's Addiction.
