I'm guessing this is supposed to appeal to people in areas where it rains year round, because if I lived in an area where I would rarely need to use a sprinkler system then I can see this being a good idea cuz you don't have to put in the money for a system that you'll rarely use. But not in CA. But like I said: a good alternative idea. Only thing I'd do different is use Rainbird 1800 sprays rather than the cheap orbit heads.
