@MrYeahwee Sorry to burst your bubble but it is not impossible to find non-paved areas. Claiming "the world is pretty much concrete" is ridiculous. And there are many new shoe technologies such as Vibram Five Fingers that allow a runner to experience barefoot running on harder surfaces such as concrete. And despite the fact that it may be difficult to find areas to run barefoot does not revoke the fact that the healthy and natural way to run is barefoot.
@sony451@MrYeahwee Actually, I think you both might be missing the point... the hardness of the surface has nothing to do with barefoot running.
It's actually a lot easier to run on concrete, than on sand or soft surfaces like that. The muscles/tendons in the human foot works INFINITELY better than the padding/cushioning in a running shoe.
Roughness of the surfaces play a factor, but very rarely hardness.
I have to say, this would be a lot more epic of an advertisement if it didn't end with something that looks like a shoe... like, if it ended with the foot in a Vibram FiveFinger Bikila, or better yet, a VFF Speed (European Model), that'd be a cool video... but it ends in a normal looking shoe... kinda takes away from the point a bit...
sorry nike you just cant stand up to vibram five fingers. get on their level oh wait you probably cant cuz they are probably to amazing remember they are a 80- sum year old sole who deciced to take the running franchise by storm.. and most of the customers... yeah and thats why the wait is so long for them
What a piece of crap. This will cause even more injuries to the poor people who buy them(which is ironic because they probably bought them to stop injuries).
sorry but these shoe make me heel strike EASIER, and hurt my knees and Back. The padding is TOO Soft, so it acts like a recoild sending the shock back up like a rubber band.... T_T

while i would agree these must be some nice shoes, i think its a marketing scheme that they are sold for 85 bucks. if they sold these for 50 bucks, people would think, yeah whatever its just like any other shoe. but since they are overpriced it makes the consumer think that its a *specialty* shoe. they think "must be worth the money".
very clever. i still really want these shoes though lol. theres a 90% chance ill get them =)
That SHOULD be the only reason for the shoe.. unfortunately it's gotten to the point where an inch and a half of cushioning and arch support is normal
Advertising bare foot running? It's like advertising nothing. Why wear a shoe that feels like there's nothing there, when you can kick off your shoes altogether? How is Nike planning to make money on this one? Will people maybe pay 300 USD to get the Nike logo tatooed on their ankles?
Because many legitimate runners know that it is much more beneficial to the human body to run barefoot or close to it... the human body is not designed to run with 3 inches of rubber underneath each foot.

the description is, "It's like walking barefoot but better," but in reality, there is nothing better than walking barefoot.

The only reason for the shoe is to protect your feet, from terrain that could cut them.
