Listening to this song brings me back to the days of record hops, soda shop, slow dances and doo wop......and the voice of Johnny Maestro.......thanks
I love this song, first time I heard this song was Feb 1960,I liked the Crest, tthan when I heard this song it made me a lifelong fan of Johnny Maestro. For years I couldn't remember this song, but recently it came to me,Iwas listening to my radio, I was 11 years old,I was already a Crest fan, I was in my bedroom getting to go to sleep a Crest song came on, I paid attention to it, it was so nice. I tried to remember, especially after Johnny Maestro passed away. It just came to me this was the song.
I saw Johnny singing this live at a Queens College oldies show about 3 years ago. I've been listening to the Crests since 16 Candles when coincidentally I was 16. This song is one of his very best, and my favorite. Thank you for posting it. Johnny is singing with the Angels now and I hope I get to hear him again when it's my turn.
I've heard many of Johnny's more popular songs, but not this one until quite recently. The man could sing his heart out, and you can just feel the emotion...
I will always cherish Johnny's live performances.. Just to share, I saw him at Mohegan Sun in the Cabaret a few years back. I was sitting next to the stage, and after one number let my enthusiasm out by exclaiming "You've still got it, Johnny!!!" He looked down at me and said "You must be from Brooklyn"......ha.....No, New Haven

"Sweet Song of Adoration and Longing" is Johnny Maestro. The longing and yearning was from his fans because we wanted more and he gave it to us. God Bless you.
I agree with all of you guys. Johnny still has an amazing voice! I've seen him many times and I can never get enough. This is one of my favorite songs of all time sung by my favorite vocal group of all time. Johnny M. and the Crests #1 in my book and I've heard alot of groups. None match the quality of this group.

This is another of the great romantic ballads that Johnny sang when with The Crests. Where did we lose the innocence?
