  • Not only where are the other movements, where is the rest of the slow movement? Somewhere I have an old mono LP of the original Szell /Browning recording. Sad that this work is so neglected.

  • this isn't nearly the entire movement...the movement is about 7-8 minutes long. Still very beautiful

  • I've looked through websites for over an hour, and I cannot determine the key of the 2nd movement. Is it D-minor?

  • @culveyhouse it is in C# minor

  • this is definitely the Tedd Joselson recording with the London Symphony Orchestra and Andrew Schenck.

  • i think edited short? at 1:52 something cut out... and I seem to remember there being more to this movement...

  • it's only half here...

  • Nice job with the video 1:58 - 2:32

  • I believe the soloist is John Browning with Leonard Slatkin conducting the St. Louis Symphony.

  • I just wonder if this is the Abbot Ruskin recording made by Vox ?

  • Who is the soloist? John Browning?

  • one of the most beautiful things i have ever heard...the pianist is fantastic such a beautiful tone. this should seriously be in a movie!

  • @extrasharpcheddar1

It is in the sound track of an odd darkly humorous/disturbing movie called "Happiness". Probably not how you would like it used, but it works well.

  • opens with an american flag...god damn it. i was looking for something beautiful

  • @thebigventure Barber was American

  • No wonder this won a Pulitzer prize. Haunting, eerie, and lovely at turns.

  • great, as most of barber's works. unfortunately this is not the entire second movement... please upload it in its glorious wholeness if you can! :-)

  • wow...its so beautifal

  • Who is the pianist? Do you have the first movement?

  • Thanks! Any info on the performers?
