@DizzyDior12 I would say that it in fact is about his son. I didn't even think about it until I read your coment. But if you listen to the lyrics in the first verse it really does sound more like he's talking about a child rather than a lover.

Not that bad compared to other tracks off this album but still not good enough for me to purchase. I don't think this song is about a parent/child bond, it's about love lost, regrets. He could read the "writing on the wall" that she's not coming back but he "can't let go" of their memories so it's about regrets.

I read in the LA TIMES before this album came out, they talked about this song and they posted the first part of the songs lyrics, and I read them, but I didnt really feel it. But then The cd came out and I was BLOWN away from the way the music flowed and the lyrics fit every piece.
