  • this always plays in ice hockey matches! :D

  • Eddie Cochran was an original Rock and Roll pioneer. He was shadowed by the greats of the 1950s such as Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Eddie might not have been as popular as Elvis or Cash but he helped pave the way for Rock and Roll just as much as they did in their time. With songs like “C’mon Everybody”, “Something Else”, and “Summertime Blues” Eddie Cochran was creating some of the greatest tunes of the 1950s. In his songs he captured the teenage frustration and desire of the 1950s

  • How nostalgic is this? Great singer. So sad he died so young.

  • 'if your brother wont rock but your sister will'

  • if he hadnt died i reckon he woulda been what elvis was, but he had more attitude than elvis, although im an elvis fan too, there was always something about eddie that was a little more bad assed.

  • @salemboicot I couldn't have said it better myself

  • Valens died at seventeen. I was wrong! sorry

  • @KIWI897 yeah. 4 great rockers in 1 year :|

  • @platterhof it's too sad. 21 sheesh!!!!!!!!!

  • It's from February 7 1959. 4 days after Buddy Holly, Valens and Bopper died. Perhaps that's why he looks up to the sky in the final.

  • @platterhof It's also really eerie to know that Richie Valens died at 21. As would Eddie.

  • @platterhof It was a plane crash as well.

  • @ConnorG56 Cochran?, I read he was killed in a taxi in UK in April 1960. Buddy, Richie and Big died in a Bonanza plane in Feb.1959

  • @platterhof yeah, Cochran died in a car, but I was talking about the others.

  • @ConnorG56 Okay ;)

  • @TheBeastmaul maybe look up some people that inspired them. Like T-Bone Walker inspired Chuck Berry.

  • Hey guys, i am 14 and im learning to play guitar and i want a electric B/C im into like Metallica and Megadeth and what not. but i wanted to get a sence from where it all came from. so far ive gone through Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke,Smokey Robinson, buddy holly and now im here. who else?

  • 51 people are wankers....

  • Absolute classic - what a shame he was killed in a taxi crash in the UK in 1960.

  • man even back then people were amazing this gu rocks surprised i never downloaded any of his songs before.

  • my friends make fun of me for listen to this but this is real music thumbs up if yall agree

  • @redneckgunshooter they're making fun of you because they're ignorant and don't know shit about music...I was lucky to find friends that have similar interests as me and are open for discovering new stuff in music and art in general. It's a rare thing though, most people today are just non-selective consumers of everything that's offered by the corporations and the marketing industry.

  • @redneckgunshooter real music?! well 1) your friends are *** 2) I really like this music! But the real art is Bach, Mozart and the other great composers. This is just simple music. But simple music that really rocks!

  • If you want 50's music to back stop complaining that way. You can go to local band's gigs, do the best to improve your local (or even national) Rock'n'Roll scene, play your own songs, or best : try to create a buzz for C'mon Everybody '(legal) s download for example. Good song anyway :) .

  • Heya

  • good ol' minnesota boy

  • Eddie Cochran was simply the best. That's it. I love him . . . and once again, I wish it was the '50s. Oh well, at least we still have the music . . .

  • This was aired just 4 days after Buddy Holly went to Heaven. Love how Eddie Cochran looks up, as if Buddy's looking down on him at 1:42.

  • Brilliant

  • Schmalzlocke,Spitzschuhe,Kamm in der Hinterntasche, und Lederjacke. Das Girl fest im Arm auf der Kirmes an der Raupe stehen und sich von der Musik berieseln lassen. Das wahr`s doch.

  • SID VICIOUS!!!

  • @dennis98 i think in those days elvis hair styles are hit..even my dad is copying it..

  • @bluegreen988

My dad still has a Quiff since he was little like 9 or something and he is now 45. but people who went to his secondary school all had a quiff or they were a mod so it was the thing

  • @jonascarlsson99 og du gør danmark til et lorteland! GET LOST!

  • han synger ad helvede til

  • Another theory: Is Brian Setzer possibly Eddie Cochran's reincarnation? I know Brian had that song where he claims he was born in '59 just to throw people off the track, but it's common knowledge that he was actually born in 1960, opening the window to that possibility.

  • eddie is cool but mafia 2 is better

  • Comment removed

  • Strange that Eddie died in a car crash just around the time Elvis got out of the army...

  • @AkiroXKE and no, elvis didnt kill him , and no, elvis also not hired someone

  • This just lights me up. Long live those great old rock rollers.

  • magnifique

  • Mafia 2 bought me here XDDD

  • Well my baby's number one but i'm gonna dance with three or four!!! HELLZ YEAH!!! Eddie was "the man"!!!

  • Elvis Presley never wrote a single song of his own. He was the King of Puppets - always dancing to someone else's tune. Eddie Cochran every time, for me.

  • ritchie valens, buddy holly, edddie cochran, that waz music

  • @SAINTJIMMYROTTEN don't forget Gene vincent!!! but you are right my man !

  • @Raindogno7 it seems like this music is forgot to be the real rock,i mean i am a huge cream fan,but this was real rock and gave all of the world 50 years rock n' roll,i must admit eddie cochran could kick some butt with his looks also anyone who says punk rock is bad or whatever dont forget that it is 50 years old so give it some respect (i dont like sid singing this by the way)

  • @SAINTJIMMYROTTEN dont gorget the king ELVIS man :)

  • @cometesss Punk rock all the way i like my guitar fuelled rock but my heart is in good ol'dangerous rock n roll, love your style dude, yeah rock n roll swindle sid sucks ,i agree!!!

  • 45 ppl, aint got NO HIPS! so they can't boogey! :(

  • American CLASSIC !!!!!!!!!!!

  • as good as elvis

  • @brianbude BETTER than Elvis..

  • Eddie Cochran invented swag, he was cooler than polar bear's toenails!!!

  • @jstinnett75 Invented swag? didn't know that. LOL

  • @jstinnett75 There's no such thing as swag, only style, class, and talent

  • @NostalgicTimeMan Well, if you really wanna get technical here, swag exists--it's just that swag is actually promotional material released by a company, such as T-shirts or stickers.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO wow I think the meaning has really changed over the years eh?

  • I dont know bout you people, but ima go party with Eddie!

  • Comment removed

  • THIS is Rocking.

  • whats a bieber?

  • @lilroach226 A something

  • total rock n roll, this is early punk

  • @calboy64 It ain't punk.

  • Buddy Holly and Elvis and Ritchie Valens and The Everly Bros. Were better Eddie Cochran.

  • @vikingmanMN im a huge buddy, Ritchie and Everly fan, but you have to admit Eddie Cochran is pretty fucking badass

  • sounds like a mix between "Six Days on the Road" and "Baby I Dont Care"!

  • Jazz and ragtime music had their origins in traditional French melodies that were taught to blacks in conservatories.

Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys were the inventors of rockabilly where rock and roll got most it's origins from

  • GUAPO!!!

  • @ebeneezzer im pretty sure rock n roll was invented by ROBERT JOHNSON in the 30s in the deep AMERICAN south not in europe as u proposed. -.-

  • Wrong.

It came from rockabilly, which came from bluegrass, which came from traditional music from Ireland,Scotland,England.

  • @ebeneezzer That's really not true. Rock 'n' roll is a direct descendent from American country blues, wich is a direct descendant from the blues (like Robert Johnson). And the roots of the blues music are to be found in African music, wich contains a lot of the pentatonic and mixolydian scale. When African people were brought to America to be enslaved, they sang worksongs in these scales. Later when they were freed, a lot of them became blues musicians.

  • Revisionist bullshit.

It comes from rockabilly/bluegrass/Irish-English-Scotish folk music.

There was some mixing of traditional black music and rockabilly styles when blacks moved from the south to Chicago at the end of WW1, but to claim they invented it all by themselves is laughable nonsense.

Listen to real traditional music from the British isles.

  • im 13 and still listening to the classics

  • Oh Yea, It's way better than today's crap.

  • Eddie Cochrane is the reason why McCartney became a beatle. He played a song from him and Lennon became impressed.

  • Must be 44 Michael Buble fans...

  • i prefer this song to summer time blues somehow

  • Dig Terry "the toad" on bass.

  • hahah the sailor dude is more interested in getting his hole, Sailors will be sailors

  • Ta for posting. I think we can all surmise as to why he looks up to the heavens at the end of this performance. One of the true greats of music for young people - I haven't been one of those for a long time. But, as Eddie sings, 'Who Cares?'

  • how did he die and when?

  • @michealjudge he had a car accident in england 1960..he was 21.

  • thank goodness for celluloid film

  • dislike-button should be deleted or remove from classic, awesome songs like this. this song can't be disliked, this man is a legend.

no wait, this isn't a song. this is a masterpiece!! ♥

  • This amazing music came to America via Ireland,England and Scotland i the form of traditional music and became rockabilly and then rock n roll.

  • Is it just me or does this song make you wanna do the Carlton dance? God, how I wish to have been born in that era. Great song by a great artist. Rock In Peace, Eddie. We love you :)

  • Just because people dislike the video doesnt make them morons elcomadreja. I'm sure you have disliked certain videos. Does that make you a moron?

  • 44 people are fucking morons.

  • SHOW MUSIC ON MY CHANNEL

    WELCOME

    HAVE A NICE DAY

  • Compared to Eddie Cochran, Mozart knew fuck all.

  • 40 people are clearly idiots

  • Opium anyone?

  • @centerforce2 Well I've been given pethedine, morphine and diamorphine (at different times of course) in hospital and they did sod all for me......everything still hurt.

  • een gitaar een drum, en een versterker met lampen...en wat een muziek...justin bieber, doe je pamper uit

  • Great post! Sexiest, coolest Rock-a-billy guy ever! (With apologies to Elvis fans, that's just my humble opinion.)

  • @brianab31 I KEEP TRYING TO THUMBS UP THE SAME THING EVERYTIME LOL

  • Notice the date on this clip...2-7-1959. When were the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly killed? Scary. My parents said that the Rock n' Roll Artists were cursed for some reason. The gendre itself was almost killed off. Elvis in the Army. Chuck Berry in jail. Little Richard in Divinity School. Cochran killed in an auto wreck.

  • @terrryc And the last man still standing, Jerry Lee.

  • @wookyhollow

Charlie Gracie is still there, Rockin and Rollin......

  • @terrryc wow...they died four days earlier...February 3, 1959...the day the music died.

  • what bass is it a fender. precision, or jazz, , eddie rocks,,,,,,,

  • @MsChrissummerfield It's a mid 50's Fender Precision Bass.

  • check out the capo on the bass---

  • I think it's great that young people can discover early rock 'n' roll through a video game like "mafia II" It can only enrich your life, it certainly has mine since I first heard Blue suede shoes by Carl Perkins, when I was nine back in 1977.

  • 50's rock 'n' roll/rockabilly is alive and well, all around the world you can find dedicated clubs to the music. Eddie was one of the best, he started off as a session guitarist, before teaming up with namesake Hank Cochrane to form the Cochran bros, before embarking on a solo career. "C'mon everybody" is still an all time classic by one of the best rockers.

  • he died to young he inspired me to sing

    greets the dutch rebel

  • he is LOW

  • i like sids better

but im always down for some 50s rock n roll
