yeah it is, I did it. Just use any partition software to partition an empty part of the hard drive, and when you want to install OS X, install it to that part of the hard drive

Netbooks really arent cut out for final cut..

if you were planning on buying final cut anyways youd be better off getting a powerful machine if your serious about film making,

However if you mean a hackintosh in general.. (PC running mac) it is possible.. build a hardcore pc! search youtube building a hackintosh and watch the one that looks pro

Best bet overall is to get an actual mac... the price is a massive put off but it'll last you a long time

dude , all u have to do with this key board is just use the USB cable and plug from the midi controller into the usb port? And install the axiom keyboard disc.. I have an Imac 20 inch, 4 gigs of ram, with pro tools and an MBox2 pro.. I just ordered a package with Reason 4 and this keyboard. i'm really excited on making some electronica pop instead of rock all the time. I hope u can answer my question.

Standard Azalia drivers with HDA fix included with Paul's MSI Wind drivers. Beware that sometimes shutdown will cause kernel panic. Reboot will be clean, though so if you aren't comfortable, use reboot instead of shutdown, and manually power it off.

It's like you have a tiny Mac. Yes very close to zero latency - like playing a hardware synth/piano. You're hearing MIDI response as the tune is being played by an Ensoniq TS-10 connected via the MIDI in on the Axiom...very tight.

Thanks! Install was iATKOS with a few drivers from iDeneb4i. When the video was shot I had not done any mods. However, I have recently upgraded to 1.5GB RAM and replaced the Atheros with a Dell 1505 abgn (Broadcom 94321). Camera works with no add'l kexts. The standard kexts from Paul's MSI Wind Drivers and instructions from the Venera7 page is all you need to get it all working.

Depends how much power and I/O capability you need and how much you're willing to spend. M-Audio and MOTU have some decent mid-to-high-end Firewire and USB 2.0 interfaces. I just got an M-Audio ProFire 2626 interface for my studio Hackintosh and it was $560 online. It's got 26 ins/outs and decent quality pre-amps. If you only need a few channels for a small studio or portability, an M-Audio Firewire Solo or USB Fast Track Pro run around $180 online.

I have the same aspire one with hackintosh build on it but I cannot get sound working. Can you lead me to the package that you installed to get sound working or the distribution? I used the same one as is built for MSI wind as hardware is similar. Volume keys work but no sound...

That's what I used, the AzaliaAudio kext from Paul's MSI drivers. Works fine. You can also install ALC286Fix if it still doesn't work. Don't forget to install an output switcher like Rogue Amoeba SoundSource that lets you choose the internal speakers or the output jack using a small icon you click on the system tray.

The Atom can do quite a bit but the N270 used in Netbooks is a single core CPU running at 1.6 GHz with only 512KB of L2 cache. It can do great things and use very little power but it cannot crunch heavy apps like a Core2Duo. It will run music apps like Reason and Logic but hits its limit quickly. If u want to travel light and do some basic work, u can't beat a Netbook but don't trade in a MacBook Pro if that's what u use as ur main system.
