It worked for me too but I have a problem when i do in console connect x..x.x.x.. etc. it gives me error and it doesn't connect me to server i want

well i thought after a couple months valve would have some more servers to help this problem. evidentally not. my connection is fine when i play online campain, realism, or survival. However, versus, or scavange. for get it LAG central. I dont know why.

i got the same issue but alitttle bit different. not sure if its the same as this but if i join ANY GAME, thts not a friend's i get this "Establishing connections to games..." and it creates my own lobby that NO ONE can join. if i join ANY of my friends lobby or game, it says "Disconnected: Session has ended" when its still open...help?

How To Fix This Problem

1.Go To Left 4 Dead Folder

2.Scroll Down

3.Then At The Bottom you see a note say Steam_appid

4.Delete it

(Warning It Appaers Back When you quit the game)

5. Go to l4d game .

6. Press On Play Versus Or anything you want

7. Enjoy!

ok, back in 15 min.

There is a file "steam_appid.txt" in the main folder, just delete it, and you are good to go, no more "connection with session has been lost". But every time you start the game it creates another file, so every time you want to play u need to delete that file before starting the game.

IDK if it works, because i havent tryed it, mainly because im on a diff comp.
