I'd really like to see a decent review on this from a gamers prespective... Any tips, I want to see how the key binding system works, how flexible it is while gaming and things like that.
You know, a +15 min review that covers everything it has to offer...
@SWEmanque I agree that would be great. I sure am not the person who could do it however. If someone does it and post it here as a video I sure will approve the video.
i just bouht a new keyboard...microsoft sidewinder x4 i think its really great and a new reallt awsome mouse...Thermaltake black element a really nice good looking mouse
@R3PAWN Thanks. I am still using the Saitek keyboard. I do think I will buy a new different keyboard soon. The one I got is working and I have had no problems but I would like to get something new now.
i would recomend one of the r.a.t. series mouses, great mouse i have a r.a.t. 5 and its great, also thanks for the video and dont listen to all the's trolls, they have no life and just make fun of people for their minor flaws when in fact the trolls themselfs are losers with no lives
@tanktheturtleman That is for my antipsychotic medications. They help with the psychosis, hallucinations and delusions. I keep thinking that people are saying bad things about my videos and making fun of me. So I need to take my medications for that. You are not making fun of me are you? You did give me a thumps up on this video right? I think you are making fun of me! I better take my Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon and Abilify. You are NOT making fun of me are YOU!
This is the coolest "old" man i think ive ever seen... im going to be doing technology reviews when im his age!!!... keep doing this and i think you are the bomb!
Thank you for your review hnbbs, I was thinking about purchasing this kb and now I'm definitely going to do so. My main concern was the brightness level but it looks quite substantial. Also very great you're into this PC stuff, this coming from a 24-year-old lol. View my channel and you will see interests can go the other direction, I'm interested in very very old technology.
On mice I used many myself as for consumer suppliers HP has the best one but for more custom manufactures I love Logitech, still havn't found the best wireless one but for corded I have owned my Logi G5 Laser for 6yr and not one issue, it is a righty mouse but its best $65 I spent so look for the G series or at least in the laser or optic mice type for good response Also Razor mice are nice but feel more glossy plastic as the Logitech G series has a rubber hard plastic ie Log = no sweaty palms
@nitestrike1000 Both my son and I had problems with our G15 keyboards. Both the same problem. Some of the keys did not work. We had both owned and used are keyboards for some time. Just something you should think about. I am sure they have new updated models out by now however.
@hnbbs Thanks for replying and giving me the headsup on the G15 key problems. I will not rush to buy one , but i'll do some more research. I wanted to use it in flight simulator and wanted programable keys.
You're an inspiration to all of us and keep up the good work! Thanks again and if you get the chance, check out my videos :)
@TeamRekon Oh no.. I play Civilization IV. I play it on the very easy mode. One of those fast shoot em up games could cause me to have a heart attack I am sure.
@hnbbs Yep, I meant the III version of it, Just came out. I ordered it from newegg and looking as the 2nd one is compatible with 64 bit, hopefully the third is as well!
I just look at it like a lighted keyboard. Oh that is right .. I did show the old Logitech G15 keyboard ...
Which broke right after that.. and my son had one and it broke and it broke in the same way.. some or all of the keys would not work. So a warning on the G15 keyboard to all.
You say it works with Linux. I have been all over the net trying to find an illuminated keyboard that works with Ubuntu 10.04. Retailers list system requirements for Windows only. Been all over the net looking for Ubuntu compatibility for this model. I'm not "technical savvy" so it makes it more difficult for me. I would buy this keyboard in a heartbeat if I knew it was fully compatible with the Ubuntu programs.
@zsigzsag I use it all the time with Ubuntu 10.4. It is just a keyboard and lighted of course. Works great with Ubuntu. In fact I will be using it with Linux later today. My ex-wife wants to borrow my laptop to watch "Dexter" so I will have to use my old desktop and it has Ubuntu on it. I am using the Saitek Eclipse II keyboard (PK02AU) I know it works. I will put a link to it below the video.
@ryanpattummalee Yes, it is a good keyboard. It is what I am using. I have not had any problems with it. I have used it with Windows XP and now Windows 7 64 bit. I have used it with Linux setups also. Seems to work good.
@SweBerra Let me know when you make the review so I can check it out. Just do the review and don't worry. People may make bad comments..That is just the way some people are..Be honest..show the keyboard...Try and get good audio. Don't be like me and talk to long. Just the facts man just the facts. Keep it simple and short. I will look forward to seeing it.
@kaeh089 Thanks for the comment. I am still using the keyboard. I did a search to see if they had any new keyboards and I found the Microsoft SideWinder X6 keyboard. I do not do gaming but the X6 keyboard looks interesting. I am going to look and see if I can find some reviews of it on YouTube. One very imporant feature is how bright the light is on the keyboard. The Saitek is just right for me. But I will be interested in seeing what people on YouTube say about the Microsoft.
Sometime after I did this review my Logitech G-15 keyboard broke. It would not work and I tossed it out. My son had a Logitech G-15 keyboard and he had a power surg, in Fort Worth, and now his G-15 keyboard does not work. So warning warning about the G-15 keyboard. Make sure you got a UPS unit to protect your hardware.
@mugen1237 yeah your very mature man im just 16 and english is a foregin language so ... you are not acting like one off your age so whit this i bet that your from the land of choice .... how low can you go !
hnbbs: you should press the buttons too so we can see how it feels if I can say that lol . Also I would recommend a Razer mouse . I have the Razer Diamondback in blue, had it for 6 years now never had a problem and you can adjust so many things on them its unbelievable.
lol saitek cyborg kind of reminds me the interior of KIT in Nightrider. I'm very interested in the G15 v2 but id rather get something a lil cheaper.. since this one is like half the price
Nice review, I should hopefully be getting one of theese keyboards soon :D Also take a look at the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 mouse, ive heard good things about it. Cheers
On the mouse, like you I have a plethora of input devices. The three mice I am using most now are the Logitech G9 (Corded), the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 (Cordless or corded, works both ways and recharges while you use it) blue laser mouse (has vertical back/forward buttons which take a little getting used to) and the Microsoft Arc for my laptops which is a very nice, small form factor folding mouse that looks REAL classy. All three are great mice.
They make another keyboard that's even cooler called the Cyborg, I was using that one until I got the Cyborg and love 'em both. I switched to the new Logitech G19 however and gave the Cyborg to Mom. But Google the Optimus Keyboard by Art Lebdev, it'll blow your mind, every key is an OLED. It costs over $1000 though. :)
@Argentium009 I saw that on TV. Yes, what a great keyboard. It is out of my price range but if I live long enough they will get the price down so I can afford it.
Just think a keyboard that cost more than a computer. Smile
