Hello folks, it's not Duane Eddy, but it's not the Ventures that first did this song. It was written and played by the Chantays (see the Lawrence Welk clip) originally. No bass guitar and it was originally called "Liberty's Whip" after a scene in the flick The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
