I don't see the big deal with his songs containing sexual content or comments. It isn't like his songs are blatantly rude, crude, or demeaning in any way. I see it as him expressing himself, how he feels at a certain moment. That's what music should be. Expression. And his music, I think, is far less offensive than so much of the popular music that is front and center in the media these days.

I love that Jason expresses himself and in a lot of his songs his expression shines through beautifully. But lines like "you make my slacks a little tight, you may unfasten them if you like" or "I'm your pole and all you're wearing is your shoes" are pretty smarmy and there's little left to the imagination. I'm not saying "THIS SONG SUCKS BECAUSE THERE'S SEX IN IT," it's just something I wouldn't listen to if I was driving with friends or family. It all comes down to the listener's preference.

i think this album could be pretty good but i cant help thinking that at least half of it is going to be crap... dont get me wrong i'm excited as anybody about im yours on an album, but between the gospel and album title i dont know. Jason Mraz is like almost thirty years old i kinda hoped he'd move past writing silly sing-a-longs like here we are and start focusing his lyrics on more meaningful, heartfelt subject matter... oh well too late now

I'll admit that that ones pretty good, but it doesn't change the fact that the song is about having bad sex. Besides All I'm trying to say is that Jason has written so many great but when it comes to making a studio album he ruins it by writing awkward songs about his sexual encounters. Alot of his most beautiful songs (0% interest, gypsy mc, plain jain, sewing machine, etc...) and now that he is making an acoustic album it pains me to see him include these sophomoric songs.

I just figured by this time in his life he'd have moved past that aspect of his song writing. HIs journal entries are often insightful and thought provoking. why cant his songs reflect these ideas. jason could be a respectable musician, but in my opinion these songs keep him from that

i understand that, it is up to the listener. i do see how its not really masked by complicated metaphores and stuff but personally id listen anyway. but i dont agree with Manchu. I think the fact that he continues to fill his songs with references like that is a testament to how down to earth he is. those are things people, especially men, think at all ages; no matter how evolved or mature you are. I think its cool that anyone can so easily relate.
