  • @ le0401, gordon lane is a great reviewer online and filming on YouTube. Also, the reason why you couldn't understand Gordon is because you don't have a clue knowledge about camera's. So who's the stupid idiot? IT'S YOU!

  • In 5 Years, nobody will talk about Nikon or Canon!

  • @le0401 Check the date I made this video: 3 years ago. At that time only 2 DSLRs had video: the Nikon D90 and the Canon 5DII. Therefore at that time, video on a DSLR was so unusual, you'd only mention if something had it, not if it didn't. But just to make sure, I did state this clearly in my review at cameralabs, which I encouraged you to read at the end of the video. As for being stupid, what about the person who orders an expensive 3 year old camera without checking all the facts first?

  • @cameralabs pretty sure at 2:34 you also say there is no movie mode here.....so therefore you did mention a lack of video i think le0401 has a lack of brain cells!

  • @le0401 You are an idiot. The A900 was released 3 years ago when most high end DSLRs did not have video. Some of them still don't have this feature.

The camera is now discontinued. It will be replaced next year by a new model that includes video.

  • @le0401

If you had that much cash on hand and have such a need for video, why not get a video camera instead of a video capable DSLR or DSLT?

  • @le0401 just saying he does say at 2:30 "there is no movie mode"... you should probably do more research before you buy a camera and then get angry at someone for doing a great free service for something they didnt do...

  • One thing he forgets to mention here is that Sony always delivers the highest Dynamic Range (close to film) compared to any other brand on the market.

With such high DR capability, free anti-shake for any lens attached, a huge 24MP full-frame sensor... this 3-year-old camera is still unbeatable.... Kudos to Sony.

  • @azkabantazkaban well said

  • i dont know what is the fuss about live view. I HAVE NOT COME ACROSS ANY PRO PHOTOGRAPHER USING LIVE VIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NIBIR98

Actually, live view comes in real handy for event shoots when often awkward positioning of the camera is required to get a wanted view.

  • this is absolutely the best DSLR for landscape and daylight.

  • He is very cute

    I want him

  • great job , i love your work !

i will buy a900 next month , or maybe next 2 months ,

    :)

    thanks u for posting

  • Thanks Gordon. You come Highly Recommended.

  • Thanks Gordon. You're excellent.

  • You're forgetting that full frame also gives you better DOF.

  • Hate this stupit Advertisements

  • @SUPERSS90 Yeah I hate it too when someone tries to reeive some payment for all their free content.

  • @cameralabs

    he meant the ads

  • @SUPERSS90 what s the problem with a 5 sec. advertisement? u got a good rev... or do u wanna buy a 5$ photography magazine? i don't understand your thought. :) anyway have a nice day

  • thank s you video ,the best

  • Can you make a review of the new Sony Alpha SLT - A33 Thank you

  • I cracked up at 3:45!

  • Great Review! I am wondering about the A900 for bird photography? Is this idea good, bad, crazy, perfect, whatever? With something like a 400mm? I am not a pro. I was wondering if the features of the A900 would fit with bird photography. Some features would never be used, some features would help, some features would be a hinderance?

  • Is there a hotplate for an additional flash?

  • i don't need liveview :P i need the a900

  • thanks. you're the best, Gordon!

  • Hi there, just wondering I really like the Sony Alpha cameras. But everyone told me Canon is better, so what's the different between??

  • I'm sorry but 24mp is absolutely ridiculous... I printed out a 1x2 meter photo on canvas from my 12MP D700 and it's fine... My HDD is already jampacked w/ 12MP, 24 is asinine unless you're planning to get your shots on billboards or want to crop the hell out of your images... Video is very nice to have too, can't wait for the new Nikon D700 replacement, hoping it will only have 18MP

  • Have you heard anything of the nikon nikon d4x? Will you be reviewing it any time?

  • what's the lens that's being used?

  • Hi gordon im i begginer with this cameras and i want to know which camera is the best for begginers.

  • Hallo Gordon. Which one would you rather have, the Sony a900 or the Sony a850. And how do they go with the Minolta lenses. Great reviews, big fan

  • i have a xti,40D,50D----im now contemplating the canon7D or the sony A-850 with a 50f/1.8 to start with----I cant decide----I know the specs etc,FFadvantage and the like but idd like to know how the sony is with accurate color realism ,which canon algorithims have mastered pretty well --I wouldnt want to backstep just to get FF --- thought's ?------//-------also sony A-850 vs nikon D700 similar price, which would have the more realistic images ? -- thank's Gordon

  • @sasktank Sony has the best color in the industry without going to digital medium format cams. Also if you're deciding between high end DSLRs, dont cheap out on lenses like a 1.8. You wont be doing any high-end camera justice and will be more disappointed than happy. always feeling like you need to upgrade your cameras instead of your lenses.

    Give this a read: [photo.net/wedding-photography-forum/00V98v]

  • sony users with this camera, yay or nay? should i wait for the a950?

  • That camera is the same size as his head

  • @puttnam1 LMAO

  • 2:16 ha navi AVATAR

  • 24mpx in 5fps! its fitting to describe it as "OOOH"

  • Like to hear that the shutter sound is so much better than the a700's

  • wtf.... lol "oooh" is that for real?

I know it's probably an acronym or code for continuous exposures but it's still hilarious

  • i guessing the OOOO are the frames

  • The weight of this thing with the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is just super heavy, I mean, it's a brick!

  • Indeed it does, but admit it: You wouldn't want it any other way. I own one and I absolutely love it!

  • It is a nice camera, even though I still can't get used to the Sony logo to a camera. But the brand issue aside, I just got the 85mm f/1.4 lens, and it really brings the camera to life! I mean, you really don't need a flash with that lens. In addition the camera looks much better with the prime lens than the clunker f/2.8 zoom.

  • Instead of taking 20 pictures to get it right you can keep that number down getting the correct exposure right with the first shot. In some situations it might be useful. I however don't.

  • Can i have that sony a900 with the lens your holding? lol jk jk

  • digital single lens reflex camera...dslr for those who don't know...

  • I'll admit it looks very convenient with all the silly gadgets. But that fact makes me loose confidence in it.

  • So freaking sweet.. but yes $2200 ..without a suiting lens. It certainly keeps you dreaming :!

  • just came back from BH store where i had the opportunity to play around with this baby. They had 2 A900's with different lenses available: some cheapo crappy kit plastic-fantastic(no match for the camera) and the wonderful 24-70 F2.8 Carl Zeiss. What dramatic difference in the results. I once again played with Nikon D700 and put similar settings in both D700 and A900 - both wonderful tools. See nothing so different in Nikon to drool over if you have a great set of Minolta/Sony lenses

  • is that the kit lens?

  • NO It's not the kit lens, In fact A900 is not packaged with any lens

  • WhaT does he mean by " in practise"

  • In reality, as in when you're actually using it.

  • practice is like the job at hand, in use, in reality. :P

  • 4 thousand smackers

  • how much ?! i want to buy like it

  • 2.200 € :(

  • Its so draumatic when you said'the perfect moment is lost FOREVER" 6:00

  • Hi Gordon!

    I really like your reviews.

But i wish you had more video reviews about lenses (Especially sony lenses).I don't know if its possible, but it would be handy for more people I think!

    Thx!

  • Good evening Gordon.

I believe that the A900 also allows users to change the focusing screen themselves. In practice, is this as simple a procedure as Sony would have us believe? I would be particularly interested in using a type L screen to end those wonky architecture blues ...

  • Hi, I really like all of your videos and also your site. I'm planning on buying the Sony Alpha A300, to get started a little bit.

Ah one last thing: What video camera are you using?

  • Thanks! I use a Sony DCR-HC96 to film these videos. Feel free to ask about the A300 in the Sony section on the cameralabs forums if you have any Qs...

  • Hey,

In response to your post upon the video "Sony Alpha DSLR A900 review".

If your looking for a good, Cheap DSLR to get started with, I would vouch on you getting the A200.

I've recently started Photography myself and the A200 is actually better than the A300.

The only difference between the both is that the A300 has a pop out screen.

Just thought i'd tell you so that you can save a bit of money =]

    All the best.

  • can you do a review of th sony DSC-H10 thanks

  • Sorry, I have no plans to test this model.

  • why not?

  • They're generally quite slow in operation, so sports or action photography is normally out - but everything else is fine - such as landscapes, portraits. Check out hasselblad and mamiya's websites.

  • A medium format camera is one with a sensor (or that uses film) that's bigger than 36x24mm, also known as the 'full-frame' 35mm format. The best-known brand is Hasselblad. They're generally very high resolution, but expensive and targeted at pros.

  • Gordon give the most comprehensive review in youtube.

  • finaly !!! thanl you so much :)

  • Excellent, I'm finally going to bin my Kodak DX4330.

  • Thanks poopoip! I always mention the numbers of elements and groups in the lens reviews at cameralabs . com that accompany the videos you see here. As for an explanation, the number of elements simply means the number of actual optical pieces in the lens. Some of these are 'stuck' or work together in what's known as a group.

  • Good stuff as always Gordon!

  • Great overview as usual, Gordon.

  • how much does this Cost??

  • The pricing of cameras constantly varies, but for up-to-date figures, check our reviews - click the link to the right of the video window to go straight to the A900 review...

  • Great review! Thanks Gordon :)

  • Another great unbiased review. Thanks Gordon!

  • I'll take a D700.

  • Thanks Gordon for the great video! Added it as a favourite and will feature it one my profile page in just a minute!

  • That's me BTW, Bjorn ;)

  • Thanks Bjorn!

  • oooh.......

continuous shooting. "if you by chance capture the perfect moment, unfortunately it is lost forever" ouch. great review with a good balance of humor.

sony still has the advantage of it's advanced in camera editing and built in camera stabilization. in other respects, it seems to be slightly competitively behind canon and nikon. i think sony needs to have a new creative team on board for their next generation of dslrs.

  • great review, great camera

  • I actually love the lack of live view.

  • Hear hear!

  • I was looking at the gallery on the CL website, and the outdoor photos are amazing.

Looks like a really good camera.

  • Ya, great review. Why won't sony out live view in to their higher end models!?!!? Its such a handy feature. If it had that and movie mode it would be an even bigger threat to the 5D.

  • wwoaaaaah, it kills canon mark III!

  • Tung,Shad,Clud.. I hope they are not trying to mention the nick names of their Employees :D

continous shooting representation by oooH *hahahahah*

No live view actually kills this camera in front of 5D mark II and D700. Sony is getting quite high in megapixels

    Good Review though =)
