  • God Bless Kevin Shields

  • the slap back vocals are from the alesis midiverb II reverse reverb setting.

  • This indeed is MBV!!! It is the second song on the recently released "Lost tracks and rare cuts" LP I bought this a few months ago, this is my favorite song on the album. There are also a couple of additional catchy songs and two great instrumentals.

  • It's MBV, listen to this unique Colmish drum parts, it can't be anyone else.

  • this is not really mbv. almost convincing until you get to the 'woozy' chorus. kevin wouldn't put that much slap-back echo on his singing, would he??

  • i hope this is on the next album.

  • fakE

  • @1977ef what does that mean?

  • @zacharyfmtaylor sounds like a reverse tracks collage

  • @1977ef like? They took separate parts from different songs, reversed them and made a song?

Now that I pay closer to the vocals, it does kinda sound like that.

  • @zacharyfmtaylor yes I think so,not sure but some of the instruments parts do not sound new at all to me..

  • i can see why this wasnt released

  • This sounds like a track being played backwards. I don't believe it. I think someone's having a laugh.

  • Too cleanly produced for isn't anything era.

  • @clumpft Yeah, I feel the same way, but at the same time I can't really place this in "Loveless" era...

  • god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking hell someone make a file and link it up!

  • does sound like something from you made me realise ep, a mix between thorn and you made me realise

  • @mentos317 I Totally Agree

  • the drums sound the exact same as the track Thorns

  • Comment removed

  • reminds me of you made me realise ep

  • Belinda backing vocals similar to her voice on Off your face from glider from when the 4 unrelased songs are supposed to date from. Anyway of telling whether this is real? For 4 songs to hit at the same time validates their realness for me.

  • definitely sounds like an isn't anything b side

  • yea the drumings says it all!

  • no thats definitely kevins voice, oh...at 0:36, 1:24 and 2: 23 when those gorgeous guitars come gliding in...thats pure valentine beauty

  • I really wish "Dudley1970" didn't feel the need to comment each of the new unreleased MBV tracks saying it's definately not them, when it clearly is. The drumming alone in each of the songs makes it obvious it's MBV, nevermind the guitars and vocals....

  • Hey, it's not like a skilled musician and sound editor couldn't put together convincing pastiches using samples - such things are done, you know.

Nevertheless, I've been set straight on this one, so must offer my mea culpas. And while it's cool, it's not hard to understand why they didn't release it.

  • No way this is MBV - it almost sounds like it was constructed from MBV samples; at least some of the vocal is backwards; and it's pretty sloppy compositionally. Still kind of cool, though.

  • if this isnt MBV, what is it? its great!

  • Perhaps I cried "wolf" a little too soon...

Right now there's debate on whether the four "leaked" tunes (Kevin Song, Bilinda Song, Cowboy Song and Good For You) are actually MBV or not. Some say it's indeed MBV while others doubt it or scratch their heads.

Actually, this song sounds a lot of Instrumental A, but at first the vocals didn't quite sound like Kevin to me.

  • Perhaps Colm took over vocal-duty on this one? But then again it might just as well be Shields. Are you aware of how smoking weed ten times a day can alter your voice?

  • I don't believe Colm ever sang on a MBV recording. I think he sings a bit on the song "Suzanne" by Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions, and his voice is deeper than Kevin's.

I'm aware that Shields has or had a fondness for the green stuff as well as tobacco, but we really can't confirm how much it has affected his voice.

  • Great fucking Valentine tune, from the Japanese import.

This might be some kind of revision of Instrumental A, cause a lot of sonic elements sound almost exactly the same. (NB: it could also be the other way around of course)

  • This is not a MBV song. It's a pretty good imitation of their You Made Me Realize era. But it's obvious from the vocals and the bit starting at 2:50 that it's not MBV.
