Alexander was educated helenic when he grew up. It is natural that he chooses greek alafabet (there were not so much alternatives in that era heh?) for his coins (he wouldn't choose turkish orkut writing or egyptian nor hetite or arameic, would he?. Alexander was educated helenic when he grew up. It is natural that he chooses greek alafabet (there were not so much alternatives in that era heh?) for his coins (he wouldn't choose turkish orkut writing or egyptian nor hetite or arameic, would he?. But the language of the coins doesn't make him helenic - it just shows the helenic influence in his education. Of course he is macedonian, not helenic. That's it.

Alexander was not greek he was makedonian but not a macedonian as FYROM claims. However he was born and raised in what today is in greek territory. FYROM on the other hand was inhabited by Tribalians and Agrianinans at that time. Sure they played a major part in the Persian campaign but they were not Makedonians.
