  • Of note, Davey Allison's win over Terry Labonte was an almost exact replay of the 1987 running of this race. Davey Allison also won the 1987 Winston 500, the same race in which his father nearly went into the grandstands. The man that finished second was Terry Labonte. The only two things that changed were the fact that in the 1987 race, Allison broke away from the field by himself, and the other things that had changed was that Terry Labonte's car was a Ford.

  • Lol at Benny. "Morgan Shepherd is!.. oh it's another car." Awesome racing.

  • Fantastic. Wish I still got as excited about finishes now as I did back then. Awesome race, thanks battalion. This race has pretty much everything you could ask for in terms of excitement.

  • great finish great race rest in peace davey

  • man look at that 28 zoom around Talladega. This was my alltime favorite Davey Allison paintjob...

  • You can tell Benny was a big Davey Allison fan... "The slow car will help!!! The Slow car will Help... Move over Davey!! Get Some air!!" lol... If anyone has seen the clip of him crashing in the 1992 Hooters 500 when him and Irvan crash and he loses the championship... You can hear the sadness in Benny's voice as Davey crashes. I miss them both so much.

  • But we will always remember Davey, RIP

  • man terry didnt need that

    lap car in the way.

  • Well, the days of three-car break-aways are certainly gone.

  • At Talladega at least, it is almost impossible to run and hide these days. It is still doable at Daytona though.
