In my country during the war we used to eat cats because of food shortages...I remember when we found in a destroyed building this big fat persian cat with a suprised look on it's face... It fed our whole family! I still miss the taste of sweet, tender cat meat!

The other cats we ate were just regular house cats.There were plenty of stray cats in the village were I lived. But after a while there were no more cats, and the rats multiplied like hell.Some people ate rats too !

Hey, now I know how animals feel when humans talk(: When you hear a foreign language, or someone you can not understand, i guess yo now know how cats feel when any human talks to them.
I had a tan persian cat, but he went blind and died of old age. He was really amusing when he'd walk around bumping into the walls while he couldn't see, it's not like he was in pain or anything, it was just his adjustment period to figuring out the house by touch. He had a real pain of a time figuring out the house when he was high on catnip. RIP Chessie.
my mom used to breed those, but she had to sell all her persian cats... wich were like... 20 of them.. because she got a disease in her arms, and she couldn't wash em anymore.. or take them to catshows... i had a blast back when the little furballs were jumping around in the kitchen :D she put all mine to sleep tho :(

I'm so sorry for your loss. My dear Baron was a bit shy until he was 2 years old, then he started to talk ;O) I had a poor back for a while, and Baron kept me with company. It was then he startet to talk, and he kept goin on and on. He was so precious to me.
Now I have two british shorthairs, Victor is blue and Hero is chocolate coloured. They are 6 and 1 year old. These are my first, and I don't know how old they can be. I expekt that they can be 10-15 years old.

I've never been a big fan of Persians, especially the extreme type, but this sweetie's won my heart with that adorable meow. Very sorry for your loss...I know how it feels to lose a loving companion...my husband and I still grieve for our Seamus even though it's been nearly 3 years. Awh, thats so awful, so sorry for your loss too. That happend to my very first cat too, and at the same age. He was so special and was my baby. A friend found him early in the morning on his way to work. My cat was som destroyed so they did'nt let me see him. That made it hard to believe that he was really gone..
After a while I adoptet two one year old cats, and one of them was killed by a car at the same day exact 6 months later...
@minda67 Maybe you should stop letting your cats run loose...? I know they want to go outside and they like it, but they are domestic animals and it is our duty as caretakers to make decisions for them that are in their best interests. Safety is more important than what the cat might want, especially since they have no way of understanding how much danger they are in when they go near a road. We can't teach them that.
I know. This was many year ago and my very first cats. Afterwards I got indoor cat's (persian cats), and then moved away from that trafficated road to a quite neighbourhood. Now I have one outdoor cat, and two indoor cats (british shorthair). I won't have any more outdoor cats, mostly because he "visits" my neighbours when they leave doors open. He's castrated ofcourse.
Baron I had to put to sleep 15 years old because of illness.

We had a chinchilla, (traditional doll-faced) and he was beautiful and healthy. He lived a very free outdoor AND indoor life and died at 15.
Sorry for your loss. It's always sad. I lost mine ten years ago and I still miss him. :)

Your very lucky to have had a Persian that long. I had two. One died when he was three and the female died when she was five. Beautiful animals.

Sorry for your loss, i've lost many pets, but one in perticular clung to me, Del boy. He was about a year old and went exploring, i found him by the side of the road the next day..

Awh, thats so awful, so sorry for your loss too. That happend to my very first cat too, and at the same age. He was so special and was my baby. A friend found him early in the morning on his way to work. My cat was som destroyed so they did'nt let me see him. That made it hard to believe that he was really gone..
After a while I adoptet two one year old cats, and one of them was killed by a car at the same day exact 6 months later...

@minda67 Maybe you should stop letting your cats run loose...? I know they want to go outside and they like it, but they are domestic animals and it is our duty as caretakers to make decisions for them that are in their best interests. Safety is more important than what the cat might want, especially since they have no way of understanding how much danger they are in when they go near a road. We can't teach them that.

I know. This was many year ago and my very first cats. Afterwards I got indoor cat's (persian cats), and then moved away from that trafficated road to a quite neighbourhood. Now I have one outdoor cat, and two indoor cats (british shorthair). I won't have any more outdoor cats, mostly because he "visits" my neighbours when they leave doors open. He's castrated ofcourse.
Baron I had to put to sleep 15 years old because of illness.
