In 2004 we sent a makeshit team that was thrown together at the last minute and wasn't anywhere near our best and didn't even remotely care if they won. Do you have any idea how many solid players in the USA and Canada turned down the WBC? Do you really think our starting pitchers would be Oswalt, Peavy, and Lilly if we had our choice? Do you really think Canada would start a AAA pitcher against the USA if they could have started Dempter, Harden, or Bedard?

And also, on the topic of the Canada beating the USA, do your homework. You got lucky and scored the upset in 2006, but in 2009, we beat you in thr tournament opener on your own home soil. Then you went on to lose to Italy (yes, ITALY!) and didn't even make the next round. The USA players didn't even care and still made it to the semifinals.
Don't even start comparing your failures in the Olympics to the USA's failures in the WBC. They're two entirely different tournaments.

I just said you cant win them all...yes you beat us at baseball, but we expect that, especially with players like Derek Jeter...US is the best at basketball, but in 2004, you guys lost to argentina and Italy(yes ITALY)....you guys still rule the NBA and MLB with talent depth...just like Canada in the NHL...shit happens, things dont always goes planned...but atleast at the end of the day, we rule our respected national sports...Cant we all get along?

In 2004 we sent a makeshit team that was thrown together at the last minute and wasn't anywhere near our best and didn't even remotely care if they won. And they lost (and Italy is good at basketball, they're not good at baseball). We then woke up and put together a national program, got all out best players to commit, and in 2008 went out and destroyed the rest of the world. But okay, we can get along.

Well I will agree with you on this, our respective countries do produce the most depth in talent in those sports. Irrespective of the results of "best-on-best" tournaments, Canada produces more quality hockey players than anyone else and the USA produces more quality baseball players than anyone else.

@JBomber22 i disagree,to you canadians hockey is much more important than baseball is to us americans,welll at least thts how i see it,mainly cause i believe that hockey is the best team sport, but it seems like hockey is much more in depth in canada than baseball does here.

No, I agree with him. Hockey is far more important to Canadians than baseball is to us. If Canada doesn't win gold in hockey, the entire country will go into mourning. If the USA doesn't win the World Baseball Classic, most Americans would say, "What's the World Baseball Classic?"
