  • yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what an angel you are for posting this!!!!!!!! :D

  • Just sayin they didn't rip off Disney this came out b4 the Disney version

  • @katietube97 ..Disney's The Little Mermaid hit theaters in 1989. The Golden Films version came out to direct to VHS in 1992. So no this didn't come out before the disney version. This version clearly has some character appearance inspired by or look alike like the disney version.

  • @mslanloun1 well mine is spelled Lina so eather one

  • OH MY GOD!

  • Ah, Princess Lena. One of my favorite not disney princesses of all time.

  • Wow the Prince ACTUALLY looks like Prince Eric.....minus the ponytail of course :P

  • Suuuper pleas alyrics for opening songs S2

  • I'm almost 18 and still watch this all the time. :) I watch the VHS of course ;)

  • this price looks like eric from wd

  • @Milesprower1100 actually they didn't rip off Disney this is based off the original tale by Hans Christen Anderson. Essentially Disney made their own version of an already existing fairy tale

  • @OhItzFerrell Yeah, but the character design is clearly a Disney rip-off. I mean, the sisters look just like the WD ones!

  • Wow I completely forgot about this movie.

  • So they litterally deside to rip off disney

  • So they litterally deside to rip off disney and call it the little mermaid

  • "Come into my bedroom, I've got something to show you!"

    O__o ?

  • Oh my god!! This is the one I used to watch all the time! THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!!!!!

  • Lita looks like sabrina form the animated series. Sort of

  • OMG i havent seen this movie since ive been 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or 4

  • Oh God, I remember when my mom got me this movie... I watched it like 50 times before finding out it wasn't Disney. Only then did I see the (better, in my opinion) version of the classic... THEN I started watching the Disney Classics!

  • Does anyone have the Golden films Anastasia??

  • @siriustalker funny you asked. I actually have it on vhs :D

  • It's funny that her name is Lena because I just read about 2 possible live action adaptions and in 1 of them the mermaid's name is Lenia

  • @batsinmycake omg my name is lina AWESOME!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting my childhood memories!! :) Especially for looking for this video for so long!

  • Omg it her name Lina??? plz somebody respond

  • @Lc591 Thats what her sisters said

  • @Lc591 it's Lena

  • Wait wats her name??

  • A ton of Golden Films produced cartoon movies are on Xfinity (Comcast) On Demand in the kids movies section at the moment. They're worth watching just for laughs.

  • @Catsimboythe2nd The 1992 films from Golden Films are actually very well done in spite of low budget technical quality; "Thumbelina" is very enjoyable, and so are "The Little Mermaid" and "The Three Musketeers". The films that followed ranged from tolerable to pretty awful, no doubt.

  • my childhood memory! thxx u

  • How come he looks so much like Eric and she looks nothing like Ariel?

  • @Narwhalmuncher Because the resemblance to Eric is unintentional (and they really don't look much alike, except for black hair). Golden Films was not attempting to cash into Disney's film, so there was no reason to make Lena look like Ariel. Why should she?

  • oh finaly, the movie I would watch at my grand parents house when I was a kid

  • Opening: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! xD

  • WOOOW!! Was sooo long looking for this. Have this on a video tape and watched it over and over, but now our video player broke =(.

Anyone knows where to download it??

  • @anmieke Why not buy the DVD for a few measly dollars and support the studio distributing it before they go bankrupt thanks to piracy?

  • @TaranWanderer2 Cause I can't find it anywhere!

I want the Dutch one if I buy one, causte that's the one I watched as kid.

  • @anmieke The standard English version is easy to locate. Just check out Amazon.com and they have plenty of copies for only a few cents.

  • @TaranWanderer2 But (as I said) I want the Dutch one!

Somehow this English version sounds bad cause I'm not used to it.

  • @anmieke "this" English version is the original version. Still, regardless of which version you want, piracy is not the answer.

  • @TaranWanderer2 I know English is the original, but not for me! ;-)

And I see your point. If I like something a lot I really want to stimulate it, so I'm still searching for the Dutch version. I justed hoped I could watch it in the mean time =P.

  • @anmieke I know what you mean, the European Spanish version was the one I grew up with, and the one I'd like to obtain. Because I now live in the US, I had to content myself with the English (and the horrible Latin American Spanish version that came along with that. ;-) )

  • @TaranWanderer2 Ghehe, ok!

Yeah.. I still hope we just can fix our vhs video player.. Then I can watch it again.. ><

  • they say coming an awful lot...

  • I don't care what everyone else says, but this is worse than the Disney version. You might as well stick with the Disney version, people!

  • @FilmFTW1 I think both films are enjoyable in my opinion.

  • @MrNorbert1994 Well, that's fine with me if some people enjoy this... whatever I would like to call it in a negative way. Though, I can't help but feel that the Dolphin's worse than Flounder... and the prince being a pure rip-off of Prince Eric from Disney's version... and the ending change that is not true to the original fairy tale version.

  • @FilmFTW1 I will admit this film, and basically all the Golden Films movies are kind of not as good as Disney, but I just like fairy tales in general and it's fun seeing different adaptions of them. Especially The Little Mermaid <3

  • @FilmFTW1 No, thank you. I can make my own choice. This one tells a much better story, and the protagonist is more likeable and less selfish.

  • FINALLY! I found it! :D

  • oh my god! thank you so much for posting this. I can't even count how many time I've tried looking for this movie. You're amazing!
