I think you're right, there are lots of vids with audio/video synch just off on YT. Besides, I play harmonica too and the way he goes up and down the face of the harp makes sense with what he's playing, not to mention he's grip is just a real harp player's

To avoid the time problem with audio and video save it through Windows Movie Maker before uploading it.

You're obviously playing, there are a few little off notes, and I doubt if you had a professional recording you were synching off of that it would be as such.

And a stereo would have just as bad a time if not worse with the acoustics then the actual harmonica.

Actually, some digital cameras seem to have a lage from video to audio after being uploaded to YouTube. Mine seems to do it just about every time. I'm just about ready to rip apart the video by demuxing it and re-integrate he audio at the right time. Has to do with audio codecs re-encoding I think.
