  • it is a joke... cause other news keep feeding them Jokes....... Theyre the comics of the media....

and theres nothing wrong with them pointing out the flaws..

  • NEWS WAR! Done in the fear voice...Lol...

  • Sadly enough corporate media manages to still brainwash alot of our co-citizens. Good thing we have the Daily Show to make us laugh cause there ain't much to laugh about in regular news.

  • what a great video. there needs to be much much more of this kind of thing in the universe. the american media is honestly in a dire state. it's embarassing to watch from a UK national POV. with all the partisan nonsense that people take to be 'the news', its a surprise how anyone can possibly be both 'impartial' and 'not depressed'. Sarah Palin now has a frighteningly real chance of getting the presidency, its ridiculous.

  • Una magnífica realización con un tratamiento ajustado a la necesidades de contenido.

    Brillante.

  • Search: FRONTLINE watch online. There are many documentary films.

  • WHA WHA WHA WHA WHA

  • Damn you people. Just obey the government already. Be afraid and obey. And when W tells you to go about your business and keep buying shit you don't need keep doing it!

  • FACTS NOT FEAR

  • i wish there was just 5% of media like this... well, usa dictates its own news to the world and is in the business of fear..!! they criticise other countries for having state run TV, but yet the only nation to use it effectivey was hitler,,,, and USA!!! what a joke!!

  • Operation Mockingbird is a Central Intelligence Agency operation to influence domestic and foreign media, whose activities were made public during the Church Committee investigation in 1975 (published 1976). - wikipedia

  • we are pretty much doomed. "An informed citizenry is the bulwark of a democracy..." Thomas Jefferson

  • These are the same assholes that think it's okay to burn an American flag as a parity. They need a bitch slapping.

  • Burning a flag is protected speech, under the First Amendment, according to the US Supreme Court. When I've seen it done, it was generally an act of high and idealistic patriotism, done in an attempt to call America back to ideals of truth and decency by protesting outrages committed by some particular administration.

Patriotism is best described as loving one's country always, & one's gov't when it deserves it....

  • barb99999: We pledge our allegiance to the flag (the ideas of this nation) bc they have served us very well. Where else are freedoms and choices so free? In addition it's about honor and respect for those who have died protecting those ideas also. So save the hippie bullshit for the college classroom. Voice your discontent through your vote that is what speaks to an administration not to the ideas and values of a nation.

  • yourandy: you wrote: "We pledge our allegiance to the flag (the ideas of this nation) bc they have served us very well. Where else are freedoms and choices so free? In addition it's about honor and respect for those who have died protecting those ideas also".

    Where to begin?!

'Pledge of allegiance': of very recent vintage.

  • yourandy: It's "the ideas of this nation"?! Try the Constitution.

Where else are freedoms and choices so free? Any Scandinavian country...

the USA has passed into a new McCartheyism: what's left after the reaming given our rights and freedoms by Bush & Associated Thugs and WarCriminals, would not be recognized by Thos. Jefferson & HIS associates....

  • yourandy: "..it's about honor and respect for those who have died protecting those ideas also." No; it's not. If it were, then you'd be prepared to decry the losses of civil rights, freedoms we've all suffered under Bushleague 'democracy': habeas corpus, warrants, search and seizure, freedom from torture,... there's more, but I doubt you're paying attention. It makes one tired.

  • yourandy:

PLEASE: actually READ your Constitution [the REAL "ideas of this nation"]; buy a respectable newspaper once or twice a month. Go to a real school.

  • Another Bush hater on utube, I'm shocked! This has nothing to do with Bush or any other standing administration. If you don't like the administration Vote. You can say all you want about the Constitution (it's a great document) but the flag is a visible ICON that is all encompassing of the ideals of the US. I have gone to school and battled the left wing liberal profs as I suspect you are. I also work in the real world and respect those who have protected this nation.

  • In the real world, the government of this country has consistently broken ALL treaties with indigenous peoples around the world and this continent as well. So the flag is really a symbol of universal oppression and stated goodwill which we've yet to convincingly convey. Yes, the US government, not the people, is batting 1.000 against its own stated principles. At least acknowledge this in history. Ideals do not = reality. This country is not full of angels. Actions speak louder than words.

  • yo, set yourandy straight, man. I've never heard anyone so ignorant of the constitution, or American history. I think he's been watching too much Hitlery Channel.

  • barb99999: Free speech has limitations and consequences, ask Imus. Yes it's protected under the freedom of speech but the consequence is ppl turning off the "DemiDaily Show". I won't watch and hope others will follow. BTW look around YouTube count the number of ppl who try to disgrace the flag by burning it you'll be shocked.

  • Wow, do you offer burnt sacrifices to the flag? I bet you think God is an American...Listen, instead of being an American Idolater, grow up and see beyond the flag burning/waving. Pay attention to real everyday heroes like normal law abiding parents. And dissent isn't unAmerican. If it is, to you, then so be it. Foreigners made this crazy place through dissent. Denying this is plain stupid.

  • Thank you for posting, harkyo.

I've had exhanges on these forums before this one, with zealots like yourandy. I give up after an exchange or two bc they WILL NOT adduce facts, nor deal in real argument: it's all bravado & insult.

    * ANYONE: please speak to yourandy abt using

facts [& abt refraining from name-calling (of ppl he's never even MET!)]

  • I'm a law-abiding parent and proud of my country. Seems pretty normal. Dissent bc they had no political process to influence change. Not necessary these days unless you just think you're in the majority. I'll accept if things don't go my way and I'll not need to burn a flag to so my disappointment, I'll vote.

  • Wow. And man, do I feel sorry for the woman who took your deposit. Whew! You're kid's gonna have issuuuuuuues! Some advice: keep him away from the guns. One day he'll 'just think' he's in the majority and he's gonna exert his dissent on your political process, tu trouduc...

  • People like you clearly have a problem respecting others. Come up with ideas and save the schoolyard antics for the kids. Grow up and debate point to point. If you can do that maybe you'll be treated in kind. You display group-think and an inability to think on your own with the chauvinism you express. Your disrespect proves nothing but your lack of ability to argue effectively.

  • harkyo: Wrong, this is not "group think" its respect. I do have respect for those who deserve it. If you support this, it's you who lacks respect, therefore I have no respect for you. Dipshit.

  • The real dipshits are those who emphasize symbols over real life issues. You've proved my point that name calling is for the feeble minded.

  • Thank you for posting, harkyo.

  • Well. I'm not in favor of flag burning. But ONLY if this blogger is wrapped in it. Then, by all means....accro enculee

  • Not in favor of flag buring! maybe there is hope for you yet.

  • When people start using the John D. news spoofs as their prime source of current news, things could not get worse for the major networks. But, hey, hold on, they are.

  • The News Hour is the only good TV news show around in the US. The Daily Show certainly isn't worth a damn.

  • The thing that is incorrect about that statement is that The Daily Show isn't suppose to be a news show. Each has its purpose, the News Hour with Jim Lehrer provides real factual coverage of events and thank god they do because it is so rare these days. But The Daily Show also has its purpose in pointing out, though satire, how ridiculous the cable news media has gotten.

  • Even this show is subject to David's criticism. The "NEWS WAR" title, why does everything have to be a war, the "Frontline" (i.e. the frontline with troops)...the banging sound effect. DEPRESSING.

  • It's not really a war. Most of the top news media organizations waved the white flag long time ago.

  • this is good.

John Stewart's personal analysis of the news media is classic, though. In "America the Book".
