actually, (please no negative replies) i think it is implied that sparrow shoots barbosa after he sees will break the curse. the way they showed it was that we didnt know that the curse was lifted till we saw will, when really it broke right before barbosa was shot
Let me explain this to you, once and for all. They can feel bad feelings, like wounds, but not the good ones. And this video is unnecessary, because even though Barbossa is shot before the curse is lifted, he still has the bullet inside of him, (and even if if went through him, he still has a fatal wound) when the curse is lifted. Ergo, he dies.
it makes sense the first way in the movie. the bullet is stuck inside barbossa. if barbossa into moonlight before the curse was lifted it would fall out
I agree with the video, it would of made more sense. I for one was a bit confused when I first saw it, although once you think it through the wound must not of healed.
if the found didn't heal then the swords wounds from earlier would have killed him as well. The point is this is a moment of disbelief and it kind of builds a more emotional climax the way they filmed it. But you're right. It doesn't make any damn sense but does it have to. Jack Sparrow got the pearl back and that's all anyone really cares about in the end.
The wounds don't heal, the reset every time they step into the moonlight. I mean seriously think about it. On the raid of port royale at the begining one of the pirates get an injury from a sign that smashes him. Remember that scene where he says to will, Say goodbye, when he's about to kill him. Well that injury would have left more than a bruise and yet he's fine through out the rest of the movie. The moonlight resets the pirates injuries and barbossa didn't get a chance to reset.
Why do the pirates yell "ouchy!" when they get impaled by swords if they can't feel anything then? We're not trying to be dicks...It's Disney, they're human, they make oversights...it happens, the correct terminology MrDeppness is..."it's a movie." much more....leverage....to work with.
Well....I'm feeling rather good about this....I think we've arrived at a very special place...spiritually, ecumenically.....grammatically.
I think the point he's trying to make is that it didn't NEED to be that way in the first place. Sure, you can justify it, but it just makes more sense this way.
Personally I don't think it matters. It works better in the movie , I think the damage the bullet leaves after penetrating the body is enough to kill someone.

This version makes more sense but I like the tension of thinking that Barbosa shot Elizabeth, it's more effective.

This would make sense, but I think Sparrow cursed himself just for fun to see what it was like to be invincible for a few minutes.

Prefered the original, primarily because of the dialogue.

Good theory, but what about when Elizabeth stabs Barbossa? He seems recovered even before he steps into the moonlight...
This scene bothered me too, but I guess they just decided the moment when you don't know who was shot was more important than strict accuracy :)

they didn't need to make it like this because as soon as will undid the curse, the bullet was already in barbosa's heart
maullster 3 years ago
Yeah, this makes more sense, but I suppose Barbossa's damage was so recent that the curse hadn't removed the injury completely yet.
