  • Manual gearbox give me fun everyday, blast!

    Verry blast player.

  • They should call it 8th gear in 2012

  • A DSG box gives you both benefits of an auto and a manual i.e, you dont have to keep your foot on the clutch or keeep changing to neutral in slow moving traffic

  • I'm willing to bet good money that little difference is time has more to do with variations in driving style and the line taken through corners, and less so than the transmission used. Granted, the DSG can definitely change gears faster...but since it operates like a sequential transmission (except in auto mode, where it can skip gears such as 3rd to 6th) you can't just downshift or upshift directly into the gear you want.

  • @shadynebey

Yes you can... want to go from 3rd to 5th? a quick double tap will put you into 5th.

  • How much power can these dsg take if you mod the car?

  • TT + DSG FOREVER!!

  • Wow she's sexy.

  • manual gearbox all day long :-)

  • DSG is faster, more efficient, more consistent, and more comfortable. It makes manuals obsolete. We'll have 9-speed DSG soon, and prominent makers such as Lamborgini are already abandoning manuals. If I'm paying $54,000 for an Audi, I'm not paying for ancient tech and to shift the car myself. Transmissions don't get you laid -- a nice car does. If you genuinely find stick fun, that's fine. The rest of you, lose the masochism. Some people don't need to swoosh around a stick to feel like a man.

  • get back to kitchen Vicki =D

  • Drove the DSG, amazing stuff, maybe a bit less fun, but i have the comfort of a automatic and can go faster than the manual.

  • @thiagoruback i drove a DSG gti a few days ago... the upshifts were amazingly quick yet smooth... but in the sport mode the downshifts were notoriously jerky ... almost like dropping the clutch on the downshifts on a manual tranny... good stuff but still prefer the manual.... just my 2 cents

  • @dubberxx Didn't felt that in the TTS, but i got really, really anoyed that i could rev past 4k rpm in neutral. In the end found it a really great gearbox, choosing between it and the manual it's just a matter of taste

  • @dubberxx coundn't*

  • Manual all the way, there is just no fun in driving an automatic...

Proper drivers use a manual, nuff said...

  • look at jason's comparisson of caymans with manual and DSG....this bitch sucks

  • anybody else find Vicky looking kinky in this film? country girl/pigtails...sign me up

  • DSG is great and fun... but manual is... like you've released the car's spirit free! for pure driving experience, there's NO beating a manual EVER! (I've driven both)

  • So it's 4/10 of a second faster! I'd take the manual even if it were 5 seconds slower, and probably that manual would be in a 3 series beemer.

  • why this bitch driving a car? why he is not cleaning the kitchen

  • At 1:11 ...start the...?

  • sdfssdf

  • sdfs

  • dfg

  • omg...

  • WOWWWW she is ridiculously CUTE

  • that chick can drive!

  • @evo8mrman And the pigtails suggest she likes to be driven hard too!!

  • I rather pay less for a more fun car thank you

  • Dude shes dressed like a Texan prostitute.

  • I love the tt!!!!!!!

  • You can use de shifter of the DSG, too.

Foward to change up and back to change down.

    In manual, of course.

  • She's so cute

  • I'd take a manual transmission over the autotragic transmission any day.

  • she;s turning me on.

  • Agreed DSG is smooth, efficient, fast etc etc... but only a manual gearbox can REALLY make you feel involved with the drive.... and total mastery over the car. Do you really want to go half a sec faster and miss out on:

Kicking the clutch to encourage higher revs while exiting a corner

The mechanical feel of slotting gears

HEEL AND TOE downshifting!!!!... God its cool

Almost endless burnouts and smoking starts

    Powerslides!!!

    Getting laid and being cooler

  • @shravanrulez very good point! ;)

  • @shravanrulez I'd have to disagree with a few things. You can drive the car just as hard with a DSG transmission, have just as much fun with it, and you get the chance to focus much more on your lines and such. Neither transmission 'encourages higher revs' than the other, you can power slide and burnout in a DSG equipped car just the same, and I do believe "flappy paddles" are seen as quite cool today. It's more efficient and quicker; sticks impress high school kids while autos win races.

  • @DonSLK , you make an interesting argument, but stick's win just as many races as autos. And to be honest, it takes a real driver to drive stick and win. Autos are for disconnected lazies. There's no fun in an auto. There's no skill in an auto. Save your auto for the dragstrip. If you want to /really/ drive. Get a stick.

  • @mediarocker543 Problem with your argument is all proper race cars, and I'm talking F1 and the like, use paddles now. More efficient, quicker. I enjoy a manual just as much as the next guy, but these new dual clutch transmissions are the stuff of the future. Takes out even more possibility of driver error.

And I would hardly call myself a "disconnected lazy" or say I'm not a "real driver" because I opted tech that does things better than I can.

  • @DonSLK , the sad fact is, you are one of the few.

  • @DonSLK "Takes out even more possibility of driver error." thats exactly the problem. the whole point of racing is to see which drivers make those errors, and reward the ones that dont.

  • @mediarocker543 Nice!! :)

  • @shravanrulez Yes manual is ALOT more fun than driving with a DSG gearbox but if your buying a car for an everyday driver and you want to be comfortable in peak hour traffic, DSG is the way to go. If your buying a car to tell your friends its manual and to get laid, then your an ugly nerd that has no clue & you probably drive a cheap jap car ;)

  • @aubb91 DSG is for uggo nerds man... getting laid is just a side benefit you get by driving manual... or, the correct way, for that matter... In this day and age of exaggerated convenience its nice to see a manual gearbox give the driver at least some involvement in the drive :) I've been driving manual for YEARS and have never ever thought of going auto.. never. You lead a sad life, dude. There's more to life than technology and convenience... where's the passion?

  • @aubb91, Any type of automatic or DSG car is a waste. It lets people who don't know how to drive on the roads. Only a /real/ driver would use a manual gearbox. Convenience (comfort in peak hour?) is what causes problems. I myself prefer a manual gearbox in traffic. Only a tool can't drive a gearbox in traffic. Just making a point. If the shoe fits wear it. If that's your argument then the shoe very well fits. Whats the negatives to a manual? Can't drink your coffee, eat or talk on the cell?

  • @mediarocker543 So ya, my buddy broke his arm in a soccer game and cant shift with his right hand, he had to cause his family a huge inconvenience by finding time to borrow someones automatic.

  • @Cenon2007 , I feel for him, but to be honest how is it a big inconvenience? Because his parents have to not be on their cell phone or drink coffee while they drive stick? Why can't his parents drive stick?? My dad Drove my manual when I needed to borrow his truck which I hated because it was an Auto. My point stands. Unless you need an auto, (like your unfortunate friend or those who are handicapped (which I think some shouldn't be driving in the first place..)) You're just lazy or incompetent.

  • @mediarocker543 He cant drive his child to school unless he can get a hol d of an automatic.

  • @aubb91, (continuation) shouldn't even be doing all that crap in the first place mate. :) Concentrate on the drive. Good luck.

  • @shravanrulez

    You rock, nuff said..

  • @shravanrulez Nice comment dude! Great finish line :))

  • @shravanrulez

Just because you drive a particular transmission doesn't make you a badass.. And DSG does give the driver total control over the car in a differen't way.

  • Instead of S-Tronic option which gets you .2 seconds faster to 60. Chip your ECU and you'll do alot better in the manual than the paddles

  • they did this with the Boxster and PDK before.

  • So your spending an extra thousand for less than half a second. Thats not to mention that she didn't drive the exact same path as the other one or made a mistake or the wind changed. Thats at least a 1 mile track and the only place a half a second would really matter is on a 1/4 mile race track. So unless you plan on racing its a waste of a grand.

  • DSG FOREVER!!!

  • can you drift in dsg? I cant find any videos

  • I hate automatic. I can only drive automatic in say a suv, van, or truck. any sports car should, imo be stick shift. automatic is for chicks and old people.

  • just ordered a scirocco gt with the dsg gearbox, bring it on!

  • It looks like she crashed the S-tronic at 3:12. Anyone else see that?

  • @JBallstar010 Its a suction mounted camera to get the "cool" wheel shots.

  • Vicki Butler-Henderson is THE BEST woman driver to have ever graced the planet with her presence.

  • i'd like to get her back end swinging out

  • thats ridiculous that they let a woman drive that thing.... its probably a guy driving when you see the car on the track

  • not mentionning money i chose the DSG especially in the street; once you have a dsg it gets hard to come back to manual

  • Wow, bitch can actually drive.

  • god, her driving skills makes her sooooooooo sexy

  • WTF?! drift with a front wheely? but why?!

  • @barlevi1 They are 4-wheel drives.

  • Would rather have the manual, Auto boxes are for fat old men and your grandma.... I want to drive a car, ACTUALLY be involved

  • @dblancer You are involved with sequential shift, you just don't have an extra pedal to mess with. Anyone who competes in autocross goes sequential.

  • manual sucks and should be forbidden ;()

  • 0,4 secs.? And that for only 6k's? WHAT A BARGAIN!... ...ehm, not

  • So did you change your mind AFTER owning it, or did you simply come out of the closet?

  • I'm still wondering how in hell he managed to afford, let alone drive, this car at the age of 15? Perhaps he'd like to respond?

  • That's like asking why would you choose a manual over an auto. The DSG allows you to choose where and when you want to up or downshift just as you could with a manual, but you can do it faster, and focus more on the driving aspect instead of worrying about the clutch and gear shifts all the time.

  • DSG gear box ftw!

i have to say dsg is the future of cars and racing as we know..no one who cares the slightest bit about track days and lap times will ever want to remove there hand from the wheel press a clutch and change gears

not to mention its much safer

but honestly in daily driving i dont think 0-75mph times have all that much noticeable difference between them

  • Oh.. whats up girl..! You can drive my stick and see how you like it. ;)

  • Because the DSG can be used as a full automatic as well. You don't have to use the shift paddles.

  • Fuckaduck DSG, get a dogbox

  • Since the DSG has two clutches, does that mean they have to be changed like in a normal manual transmission car? except instead of one clutch you have to change both?

  • there are no clutch pedals the car has two clutches that are both automated

  • you have one clutch for 1-3-5 and one for 2-4-6 and it takes away lost time in neutral because when you're in first, the other clutch is already on the second,so you don't lose time... it's a bit technical but it works

  • They can't really say the DSG is faster because you can't compare lap times when they're so close together. Driving technique obviously can't be duplicated.

  • @fatla00

Can't be duplicated? Are you kidding me? F1 drivers can do 50 laps and not have more than a half a second spread.

  • well ferrari's new cars are only available with a DSG... don't have to think long about why

  • @Yanp87 I don't think that Ferraris have twin clutch transmission... Sequential F1 gearbox yes, but dual clutch?

  • @GTtuner56 california and f458 recently the rest is f1 gear box

  • @jamecontent All right, I didn't know it.. !

  • its a great transmission - no question... but unreliable... the 6spd dsg of my gti ed30 broke after only 50000km... the dsgs are at their limits of max tourqe and mine didnt survive that...

  • dont forget....it also make the car heavier. and wont help you get laid.

  • This chick is super hot, she can drive her ass off too!!

  • yes i heve got a audi tt TTS 2.0TFSI (272KM) Stronic

  • Yeah S-tronic sound like SUPER EXPENSIVE TO FIX if when your warranty runs out.

  • vicki is badass!

  • thats not much of a gain over the typical manual gear box but i guess its really just a preference of rather you want the paddles or a shifter,

personally i would take the shifter :P

  • Context is important though. I'm guessing if she was a little more practiced with the DSG, she could improve her time. She seemed to have to think about it when she was using it.

More importantly, that track didn't look like it had a lot of significant turning/speed changes and thus less significant gear changing. And that's where you make up your time. I mean, she made up that half second in *one* turn. Imagine if that track had 4 turns like that?

  • Yeah it's not much of a gain from a rolling start but from a ditch going for the 1/4 or top speed it will quite literally eat the manual alive lol.

  • Man this turns me on.

  • i think in terms of performance, its worth the extra expense.

but a real drivers car has to be manual, even if its .4 seconds slower around the track. it's all about the experience!!!

  • She likes anal

  • Nice.

  • DSG= AMAZING

  • the s-tronic one is a superior car

  • to be honest is it good enough to warrent the extra 1,000? plus if you ever have to have the transmission rebuilt what will cost more the six-speed or th DSG? That would be my only concern. I am currently thinking about the GTi with the DSG but am not sure.

  • DSG is made to withstand torque and is quite reliable actually

  • I'm on my 3rd car with DSG. AWESOME

  • ok i know im aiming high a little bit but could any1 tell me if this car is suitable for a first car? bc in 5 months more im getting a liscence and my parents told me i can get any car i want under 30k and this is my first choice please reply ty

  • You won't be finding this car for under 30k, unless its only of those older looking ones with really ugly headlights, and with lower technology all around. I personally still think that getting a car for around 30K as a first car from your parents is a little pushing it, but I mean... if you're rich, why not? :)

  • Maybe ill go for the alfa mito. Although very different from this, i like alfas

  • she is fucking hot.. driving like soo hmm

  • don't talk 2 me if u drive auto don't care if u got tiptronic or smg or w.e cuz..ya just cuz it may perform better..it's still a girl's car at the end of the day

  • IGNORAMUS, same style gear box as F1. You callin Lewis a girl?

  • is the s tronic on the tt same with r tronic on the r8??

  • No, the R-Tronic is the same technology found in Porsche's PDK and Lamborghini's e-Gear whilst S-Tronic is the same technology found in VW's DSG.

  • NO, you're wrong.

R-Tronic is the same as e-Gear (Audi owns Lamborghini). This is an OLD single clutch design, a 1st gen auto-clutch manual similar to what's used in current Ferrari's and the older E46 BMW M3 and V-10 M5.

    All new designs are dual-clutch.

S-tronic is just what Audi calls VW's DSG when it's used in an Audi.

There's only three real producers of parts/designs: BorgWarner, Getrag and ZF.

BorgWarner is the leader by far.

Getrag has one in a Dodge and Volvo.

    ZF does Porsche's PDK

  • If you want to get technical. It's the same principle.

  • Same principle, but very noticeable differences.

I've driven an E46 M3 with the SMG trans (single clutch) and a VW GTi with the DSG gearbox (dual clutch) and the DSG is better (smoother and faster gear changes)...

Except for the programming VW did. It won't hold a gear at redline (auto shifts) which really sucks when attacking some twisties.

  • what dodge uses a double clutch gearbox?

  • No. No American car has a dsg.

List of Companies using DSG or whatever names they have given them.

    Ferrari

    BMW

    VW/Audi

    Bugatti

    Porsche

    Nissan

    Mitsubishi

  • actually the dodge journey has one too, but it's sourced from vw.

  • Those are only European models. Other Dodges in Europe also have it, thats because they use the 2.0TDI VW engine which does not come with an automatic.

So you are right, but you know what I mean.

  • yeah, i know what you're saying man.

  • and Seat ¬¬

  • fifth gear is great. top gear is just all show and no go, they know next to nothing about cars

  • I bet she does sex only in cars!

  • Also 4/10s of a second per lap? You're going to lose by quite a bit in the ned of a race.

  • top gear is better... jeremy clarkson is such realist screw the flappy paddles

  • The DSG is still a double clutch gear box witch is proven to shift faster.

  • i agree with shyjock

  • If you want to own a Audi TT, but make sure no other girls will own your Model

Get the Audi TT TDI, i have only seen Men driving the TDI model!!!!

  • that is damn true

  • Who cares if a woman owns your car?

  • I'd love to have her on my lap ;)... sod driving the Audi.

Interestingly I actually own a TT 3.2, although it's the hairdresser model.

  • Vicki looks like a german milkmaid pretending to look like a man prentending to look like a woman

  • did she crash the car somewhere because at 3:10 you can see something strange on the left side of the car

  • I believe it's a camera

  • it's a camera

  • its prob the camera

  • its a nice car!

  • in other words. "s tronic is not needed for a thousand bux." She doesn't really change gears that fast on the stick.

  • Yeah but no human error involved with the DSG so on average...

  • man she is looking good in this one

  • i wanna c ttrs lol

  • I'm sure she'd fuck you in the ass if you paid her

  • She loves anal for Shure

  • every car i have driven with a paddle shift, new evo, audis, ect. i wished there was a stick shift in it. they are faster in the gear change but so much less fun to drive. i also feel a lot more in control with a regular stick shift. i dunno just my opinion.

  • are the gear ratios on the manual and the DSG the same?

And wouldnt it be really expensive changing two clutches instead of one, and then there is getting to them as well, wouldnt want a second hand one, a bit like turbos, fine buying new , but second hand there is always doubt

  • ...it's just you...!

  • goodluck parallel parking it.. go proper car not a fricking pentium

  • how do you go semi auto...(is semi auto the right word for it?)with this gearbox?where you have to change the gears for yourself with the paddles...you're in D and then what?

  • At least with the Veyron, when you go from "D" (basically always in overdrive or sorts), to "S", it drives like a normal automatic. You just have the leisure of using the paddles if you want, otherwise, you don't have to use them. They're there for the fun of it.

  • "1.Make a wish

2.Put your finger in your nose

    3.Close your YT account

    4.Hold your breath 30 seconds

And your wish will come true!

    :D"

  • Problem with the DSG is can't clutch in for handbrake turns. Weight is also a bad thing. On the other hand it's easier to left foot brake and no more missed-shifts.

  • DSG better

  • I'd take the manual - they're exactly the same if you ask me and Id prefer a manual any day. Don't tell me but the DSG was quicker - 0.2 seconds around a 2min+/lap track is nothing for all we know the manual is quicker - she's not a machine capable of replicating her laps. Only the Stig can do that...

  • ...and save your self an extra $1000 bucks...would prob use it for some performance mods :D

  • "for all we know the manual is quicker"

I think she said it isn't, and I KNOW that porsche has a quite similar system as well and they got the same result, DSG is quicker (0-100hm/h) than manual, the only reason against it is:

    it's heavier and more expensive^^

As far as I know in Formular 1 they have no manual gear :)

It is the future I think, e.g. a M5 is only available fith automatic gear.

  • You can take the DSG, I'll take the manual and we'll see who is faster. It's the driver not the car or specs.

  • i got a question..is a 2.0tsi fun on the track?? i got a track near me home..n we can take our cars on it..its a proper F1 track...we pay n get to use our cars on it..people take their porsches, ferrari, VW r32s...but is an audi tt good on the track?? anyone

  • an audi tt underneath is very similar almost identical to an r32

  • really?? i heard it has the same engine of the new golf gti?? 2.0fsi...interestin..thnks for tht laddy.

  • it does have a different engine as gti, and shares the same chassis but with awd

  • i wanna give her a test drive in the back of my minivan lol

  • oh man yeah VBH would get it till her eyes fell out
