  • @KrakenKiller it's Scarified by Racer X, Paul Gilberts band.

  • Epic dude! What song is this? Or is it an etude of sorts. It has an A7X feel. Excuse my ignorance.

  • @krakenkiller NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

  • its insane how much better youve gotten!

  • i think your the first person ive seen that picks like i do. sweet.

  • Chris..you`re genius..........you are one of my favorite guitar masters!.

  • I REALLY WANTED YOU TO PLAY THE SOLO BUT THE VIDEO STOPPED. FUCK.

  • @ :38 i wasnt watching and heard it, i thought it was A7X

  • You live in St. John's?! I'm moving to St. John's in a week!! Awesome, one more musician to kick my ass on the guitar haha

  • real great job dood!

  • i love how u replaced the tapping section with ur own "lil thing".. hats off 2 ya dawg

  • i man that can play paul gilbert songs can play any song known to man. props and respect.

  • heyyour picking is really different in this vid....how was that?

  • @tabotabojayar It was a gradual transition. I noticed I picked downwards (as I do now) for rhythm stuff, but angled it back (as it is here) for quick alternate picked passages. It slowly began to feel more comfortable for everything, and now I find myself going back to this (old) technique more and more for cleaner rhythms. Weird roll-reversal, for sure.

  • @ChrisFeener that for sure is weird....but hell it's amazing...

  • What are the chord shapes in the chorus? I can't get past the first arps; DM-D#dim EM-Fdim What's the part after that?

  • nice harmonizing!

  • Pretty fucking nice dude. Hope you keep that spirit up.

  • ChrisFeener = Amazing.

This sums up the whole thing.

    Hugs from Brazil, dude.

  • did you use a harmonizer or did you record 2 parts? :) great job

  • nunca comeu ninguem!!

  • mind = blown!

  • wah.. nice2...

i want learn guitar from u?

    haha.

  • holy ballz... VERY well done good sir.

  • awesome

  • NICE GUITAR!!

  • GOD DA*mn YOU Mada F*KER

    HAAAHAHHAHAHA

    YOU ARE F'KIN GREAAATT!!!

    AWESOME!!

  • Bloody brilliant.

  • FUCKIN CRAZY

  • neck pickup for warmer tones when you do arpeggios you fool...

  • @XxSameerxX He is though..

  • @ShreddyEddy8D

that was quite ignorant of me, now that I read it again..

maybe I was replying to someone else....

  • if you knew anything about guitar....

  • dude i freakin love what u did with the rhythm guitar... did u do the backing yourself?

  • ibanez rule

  • SLOPPY??????? wat r YOU talking about!

  • Very impressive !

  • What kind of Ibanez is that and what is that inlay?

  • Ibanez K-7

  • i absolutely love those arpeggios... the combination of baroque chord progressions in metal is godly. sick video

  • didnt paul gilbert use a certain tunnin for this track in his clinic in japan??

  • A tad sloppy?

    Where???

    Amazing!

  • until now, ive never noticed that i was playing the song so much harder that i had to be (the appegios). ive tried like 8 diffrent ways to play them instead of doing it the right way...

  • Chuck norris can sweep with his ass, wait Paul Gilbert can do that too .... Btw pure perfection !

  • i watched that too and i think that is pauls brilliant work with a delay petal cause his right fingers dont move at all but im sure if he really wanted to he could.

  • Of course , many people sweep with their asses , my dad is one of them but he plays harp ....

  • when chuck noris first played the guitar, it was an acoustic..five seconds later, the electric guitar was invented because chuck was too metal for the acoustic.

  • ha, line 6 in the background

  • Yeah i see why he called it a tad sloppy there's a few parts where he get's out of tune...But nothing much! It's awesome! 5 stars!

  • This was totally beautiful!!!

    VERY nice technique! :)

    6 of 5 Stars ;)

  • this is song gives chills down my spine

  • god

  • Well, you've heard enough Chuck Norris jokes, here's a Chris Feener joke:

Chris Feener once called his cover "sloppy"; the next second, the definition of "sloppy" was changed to 'outlandishly accurate and amazing'...

  • haha amen makes me wanna give up guitar

  • just makes me wanna practice endlessly on a clean setting to get this far, gets me dedicated for..an hour, then i stop caring D:

  • Chuck Norris can play the guitar with a piano....

  • awesome!

  • ooo really cool what u did at the part where its usually double tapped

  • this isnt sloppy at all.

    its almost perfect.

    SICK!

  • almost perfect therefore a tad sloppy ;P

  • hey dude whats your set up on this song pls tell me i need it

  • awesome

  • Most epic harmonies EVER!!!!!!

  • i'm loving the harmonies you're playing there. and it doesn't sound sloppy at all.

  • Awesomely done man! may i ask what your running your guitar through? sounds sweet

  • did you ever work at grifith's guitar store in st. johns? and do you know were goose bay is? because you look familiar hahahaha

  • I work at Griffith's now, actually, haha.

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet i hope i see you there next time i'm in st. johns. You are so talented its not fit. keep on shreddin'

  • Um about you working at griffiths, lol how much would it cost for me to get my Ibanez RG 570's tremlo repaired (some of the saddle screws are stripped since i got it used and i cant change my strings) and a new set of pick ups (Seymour Duncan Blackout set and and EMG single coil)?

  • Just give Scott or Joe (the tech) a call after Christmas, he's actually back on the 29th of December. 1-709-579-3114. You can get them to factor it all together and definitely get a killer price! EMG pickup installations are generally easy as pie (not sure about the Blackouts) and the saddle work seems pretty straight-forward.

  • the arpeggios are incomplete.. the last note don´t exist in your performance.. anyway good job!

  • fuking perfect

how do you do those alternate picks so clean?

mine always come out slopy & unclean

  • Seriously

I like this way more then your other Scarified video

    I love the sound

    I don't think it's sloppy at all

    Definitely very amazing

I hope you post some more videos

PS. You did insane at that talent show

  • sick dude

    do you have any tabs?

i can find this part in string skipping

    only sweeping

  • amazing

  • The bass on that song is such a nutbuster.

  • damn awesome man..

  • Chris!! You're about to be the next generation guitar players pain in the ass! You know why? Because you are a bad ass guitar player man!!!Yep!!!

  • You are a great musician. you know why? Amateurs NEVER NEVER look ahead. You are constantly looking ahead to make the (shapes) changes. Reason you never played the an obvious wrong note.

I wish every musician would do that, so my ears wont bleed when i listen o them.

Im gonna try the intro of this song.

Whats your pod setting? i have the 2.0 and i would like to get a similar sound. Thanks

  • awsome dude!

  • Hey Chris, awesome job, did you make your own backing track?

  • This boy can pick with the best of them!

  • damn!ur using a line 6 spider...with effects...sounds bloody cool...wad effects u using?or wad is ur effects processor model?

  • Nope, not using the Spider. Just a PODxt into my computer. The Spider is kinda just in the background ahah.

  • ohhh...still..it sounds darn good.

and dammit! a PODxt here in singapore costs like...SGD800-SGD1k

  • how do find the drums for the song only plz reply

  • Are you kidding?! That was amazing! Do you pick everything?

  • dude sloppy my ass, paul gilbert, joe satriana and michael angelo batio need2 make way for u brudda

  • are you the art of music ?

  • sloppy?! fuck you man, you rule!

  • lol you insulted him to appraise him you considerate bitch

  • only because im jealous, clearly :(

  • Not bad, but the Maroon 5 guy is better. Hahahaha!!!!! Just kidding dude, thought I'd get your heart rate up for a sec. This is truely insane!

  • hahaha he said that it was sloppy more like insanely amazing

  • you're using the line6 spider III?

  • which ibanez is that in the background? looks like an ESP f-series guitar

  • I thought that initially :P I think it's actually a strap on the guitar making it look like that F shape.

  • can you send me the tabs for the arpeggio section through the tapping section

  • Awesome!... how many years have you played the guitar?

  • yeah i was wondering where the harmony was coming from, haha

  • Well, I recorded a cover of this song, so I basically just went back and muted the main guitar tracks/melody parts.

  • you sure ate your weaties before that one boy!!!

  • what gear r u using?

  • i wouldnt exactly call that sloppy, id say its pretty amazing

  • what pedal are you using to get the note an octave above?

  • hmm...the first part of the arpeggio thing isnt the same as on Second Heat, he does a sweep thing, but nowadays he does the string skipping arpeggio you did in this video

  • sloppy my ass bro, only part as at the fill at 1:02 u ddint tap

  • OOH a Line 6!

  • nice man!

  • i noticed in 1:01 u picked...DAMN. paul gilbert tapped that part and here u are picking it. keep it up man

  • it looks like you pick the same way as me, tilting the pick backwards unlike Paul Gilbert who tilts the pick forwards when alternate picking

  • Hi, are you using the Pod XT with a Spider III ?

  • I saw a video of yours a couple of years ago on JP's forum. Glad you have kept it up and are on Youtube! Your picking technique is grade A.

  • good job chris

  • holy lord chris haha

    your siiick!

  • Very nice. That was clean, dude. Any tips for up-and-coming-players?

  • how do u make it sound harmnised?

  • I recorded another guitar track. I have an MP3 cover of the first half of this song, so I went in and just muted all of the main guitar tracks, and played them in the video.

  • Killer man, nice guitar :)

  • is that the podxt im hearing?

  • Yeah, 100%.
