OMG my xperia arc s is fastboot locked and I can't unlock without paying. I'm very disappointed because there is very little information regarding this in the internet, had I known before I wouldn't have bought this phone. I think the only way to unlock this is paying $15, and of course I'm not going to pay. No overclocking/root/ROM for me... :(

@MyorYourdream First, you need to be using windows vista/7. Then, select the window by clicking on it first anywhere, and then hold shift and press right click so that this command applies to that selected window. You'll get normal options that you get when you right click inside any window, but you'll get an additional option "open command prompt here" because you used shift key too.

@zainthesnipe that means your phone 's is in charging mode via usb port. The phone will turn into green light until battery is full.

My Arc has been unlocked. Was previously on Vodafone UK. I now use o2. Problem is there are 3 Vodafone apps which are locked, cant be deleted and cant be used anyway as I use o2. It constantly updates itself even when i stop it, will unlocking my bootlader mean i can delete them permanently?

and being previously sim locked can i unlock booloader?

@iDontbreakPS3 i bought my Arc sim unlocked on ebay, but i have now unlocked the bootloader and rooted it with no problems.

From what I know unlocking bootloader only removes guarantee if you flash a custom rom and it breaks down, but I think Sony will still fix it for a charge.

I only did this to remove certain locked programs and to use adblock.

Awesome guide, took 10 times as long to start my phone though. Everything was wiped though, so make sure you have your conntacts or whatever on your SD/sim card before doing this.
