The problem with Congress is they first check the Gallup polls and find out which way the wind is blowing and then they jump on the bandwagon. God help us if any of them can express an independent idea or come to an independent conclusion and stick their neck out and defend it. I guess there are no real leaders anymore like Churchhill. Politicians are worthless.

The Dems voted to give AUTHORITY to go to war, mainly I think to help call Saddam's bluff. They proabably didn't think Bush was actually crazy enough to start a war without UN support. It was a mind-bendingly stupid move.

Well, I just find it hard to take the president at his word. In any case, the information given to the Senate was faulty and that is why we went to war. And no I don't feel any safer for it. I would feel safer if Osama was dead to be honest.

Al Qaeda is against the US. If there are no US troops in Iraq, they have no excuse to be there. And oil money is ALREADY pouring into terrorist coffers from around the world, notably Saudi Arabia, a longtime Bush family ally.
