No ents died during the battle of Isengard, only some got hurt, and that by the fire. It says in the book that they all survived, and got away with only some engurings. Also, the arrows don't hurt them, their skin is too thick.

actually...the ents are older than the elves. but the elves taught the ents how to speak, so in a way they "untreeified" them. But the elves did not create the ents.

Yavanna, Valar of Nature created the Ents. I don't actually remeber reading that the Elves taught them how to speak. I thought that was just something in the movie (like the eye of sauron, lol)
