SYLVESTER WAS AN AMAZING SINGER AND IM SURE A NICE PERSON. I WISH HE WASN'T A HOMOSEXUAL B/C GOD HAD SO MUCH MORE FOR HIM THEN THAT SINFUL LIFESTYLE. ITS SAD THAT HE WAS BLINDED THINKING THAT HE WAS A WOMAN. BEING GAY IS NOT RIGHT. BUT HE HAD A POWERFUL VOICE!!!!
Man I've been tryin to find this song. I never knew sylvester until watching tvones unsung. Yay tvone. His story broke my heart although he lived his life to the fullest. This song breaks my heart. It reminds me of my mom. Rip to both of u.
I love this song. Very beautiful. Not much, but it is somewhat sad. I think the saddest thing for me is while hearing this song, I think of how he died. It is sad. But his memorty lives on. I love him and, as a "black" man, I am proud that he was out the closet while many of us today are still in.
I too heard this song on Unsung. I too fell in LOVE with it. In the 70's I was young and just coming out when this song was made. It was such a different time and era, it just makes me smile so now....
I Must admit I'm Not a Fan of Sylvester James, but this song Really grabbed my Attention because the Track is so Tight (I love the Piano) and them background Vocals!?!?!? OMG!!!! They were Singing PAST the Depths of their Stomachs!! Them Vocals Where coming from the Souls of Their Feet! They Put EVERYTHING THEY HAD Into Them Vocals and You can FEEL IT!!! *****5stars!! :-)
Heard this song for the first time as the Unsung episode featuring Sylvester was beginning to run the closing credits. This was truly a talented brother.
we will never have a musician that bridged the beauty of gospel, soul, funk and jazz, not forgetting, he was one the pioneers of garage. A truly gifted artist, who has left spirit lifting music like this. God bless you and rest in peace Sylvester. desziricco

i dont no if you met my brother maurice long but he was ahell of a singer him self and also sylvester to. but i dont only like this song because of my brother but its a real good song . but when i hear it i think of him[maurice] it a song cloudy a chance of rain that sylvester done i love to that my bro sung on. i sing to my brother tryed to get me to move to oakland but i didnt want to leave my son at the time but i wish i would have went.
@MrFoster55 I sang with your brother too, and what a beautiful voice he had. In fact, his voice was more natural than Sylvester's voice, and could outsing Luther Vandross on any day. I miss him terribly. RIP "Mo" . . .
I taught myself how to play and sing this for my piano recital. I had video, but it's not that great, because someone had to hold the mic in front of my face the whole time. Still, it's an awesome piece, and I'm so glad that I can play it for my father, who LOVES Sylvester's music.
I heard a snippet of this on a TV ONE unsung episode. I've searched looking for this. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I'm going to rewrite some of the words and use it for my wedding.
@waywword how beautiful please get in touch if you do this i would love to hear the version and if i ever get married again when i find mr right might ask for a copy, awesome idea, good luck with wedding
