Why do people say Batman has no superpowers? Batman has the power of MONEY! That's how he became a superhero; because he's loaded. If he'd been a regular working or middle class guy, he'd have never become a hero. Cap was a a dirt poor kid from Brooklyn and he still became a hero. That makes him a lot more impressive than some rich guy.
You know what really annoyed me. I saw this list a while back that put Cap above Bats as the #1 non-superpowered hero. When I saw that, I was just like "but Captain America does have powers. He doesn't even belong on this list". The super-soldier serum gave him superhuman strength. That is really stupid that they're pretending that he doesn't just so they could put him on the list. And even if what he has technically don't count as superpowers, Batman still wins because he made it all up himself
@rzeitouneh Cap doesn't have super strength. According to Marvel, the most you get bench without being considered superhuman is 800lbs, which is what Rogers can bench. He had super strength at one point, but he doesn't anymore.

For example, you cannot be at peak human strength and speed because the bulkiness of the muscles you'd need to be that strong would slow you down from being as fast as you'd want to be. Cap is only able to be that strong, that fast, that agile through use of the super-soldier serum. Its as if you took several people that had trained to be at peak human condition in a specific area (strength, speed, agility, etc.) and rolled them into one. That's not human, i.e. its superhuman.
@rzeitouneh Are you...trying to apply logic to comic book characters? I had a friend try to do that once, he argued a character with super strength shouldn't be able to pull a spaceship with a rope because he didn't have superhuman traction.

They're only saying he's peak human because they wanna market Cap as being their equivalent of Batman. And even if we are suspending logic and saying that in comics a person can reach perfection in all those levels, my main issue is still the way in which he got those abilities. He's only able to compete with Batman because of the serum, which is an inhuman/superhuman method.

Think about it, if a pro athlete were to be discovered using steroids, wouldn't he be kicked out of whatever league he belonged to for augmenting his natural abilities through inhuman means. By definition of the rules that govern sports leagues, a true athlete is someone who relies on his natural abilities and not on chemical augmentations. batman, green arrow, daredevil and captain america battles between them are hard to decide, but a character like spiderman has the advantage over all of them

in a straight fight Captain America would win vs Batman. Cap is stronger and his super soldier serum would not allow him to tire. As far as styles go Captain America is always training and is well versed in boxing, judo, gymnastics style, and jiujitsu. Cap teaches alot of Avengers how to fight. As far as fights go Cap lost the first time due to Batarang but it was the fans who voted. The same fans voted Storm and Wolverine beating Lobo and Wonder Woman when we know that would not happen.
It's a hard call. Batman is a highly trained fighter, and regularly keeps himself in shape.... but Cap is quite literally the peak of human capabilities. Add in that he is also one of the best fighters in his world... I don't know, I would think Cap could beat Batman in a straight on fight without gizmos or his shield.

Don't forget one other thing -- Captain America is an honorable fighter, for the most part. Batman is willing to cheat if he has to, which gives him an edge. And the last time the two were up against each other in the comics (DC vs. Marvel), the fight lasted for hours, with Batman just barely winning because Captain America got distracted for a moment.

they have so much in common, they both have no powers per se, they are both currently "dead" although they are travelling through time, and they are both being replaced by their former sidekicks.
1.) That hyper combo with the bats is pretty darn cheap
2.) Cap is the pinnacle of human ability and Batman is human, logically the best Batman could hope for is a draw, as he would have to be equally perfect or, as in the much more likely case, Cap's lesser.
On paper, Cap and Bats are pretty damn even and stalemated in the JLA/Avengers crossover. I know that instance isn't canon, but it would be 50/50. However, I will say that the longer a fight between them goes on, the more it will favor Cap since he doesn't fatigue.
Folks in essence Batman is the real Captain America. Wayne worked his ass of to train his body and mind to become the very best man that he could be. Every ability that Cap posesses was given to him by the s.s. serium\steroids. Even his shield was given to him by the government.

That's completely unsubtantiated. Prior combat experience,as valuable and irreplaceable a commodity as it is,doesn't inexorably determine the outcome of every fight. The majority of Batman's very career consists of planning,surveying and beating opponents more powerful than himself,friends and foes alike. Cap may have more years under his belt but that would make little difference against a man who knows more ways to punish someone than ol' Cap can fire a gatling at. Batman wins,hands down.

HELLO! Did you read The Dark knight Returns? Or the Dark knight Strikes again? Batman Beets the crap out of SUPERMAN! And in that he is an old man. If he can do that then he is more then able to handle the guy other guy with the US colors. So you should also remember that Batman has the fighting skills of 124 fighting styles. So Cap is out of his league, sure he could put up a fight but he would fall down flat before the worlds greatest Detective.

In fact, there's barely anyone in the Marvel universe that Cap hasn't fought and has a good win percentage, including a couple amazing wins over Namor and Iron Man. He can military press 1000 lbs. He doesn't get tired. In a straight up fight... Cap wins. However, they fight differently. Cap charges in, while Batman uses stealth, smarts, and machinery. So if given the tools and preparation, Batman wins.

Its as if you took several people that had trained to be at peak human condition in a specific area (strength, speed, agility, etc.) and rolled them into one. That's not human, i.e. its superhuman.

They're only saying he's peak human because they wanna market Cap as being their equivalent of Batman. And even if we are suspending logic and saying that in comics a person can reach perfection in all those levels, my main issue is still the way in which he got those abilities. He's only able to compete with Batman because of the serum, which is an inhuman/superhuman method.

But they are both athletes, even if one took shortcuts. By Marvel's definition and logic suspended, Cap does not have superpowers because he does not have abilities that exceed human ability. If we were to explore the topic further, I'd be interested in knowing how Batman can summon bats to fight for him.

Think about it, if a pro athlete were to be discovered using steroids, wouldn't he be kicked out of whatever league he belonged to for augmenting his natural abilities through inhuman means. And most of the time, Batman relies on his martial arts background, which took years of training and discipline. In both scenarios, he's relying on his and the bats' natural abilities. in a straight fight Captain America would win vs Batman. Cap is stronger and his super soldier serum would not allow him to tire. As far as styles go Captain America is always training and is well versed in boxing, judo, gymnastics style, and jiujitsu. Cap teaches alot of Avengers how to fight. As far as fights go Cap lost the first time due to Batarang but it was the fans who voted. The same fans voted Storm and Wolverine beating Lobo and Wonder Woman when we know that would not happen.

It's a hard call. Batman is a highly trained fighter, and regularly keeps himself in shape.... but Cap is quite literally the peak of human capabilities. Add in that he is also one of the best fighters in his world... I don't know, I would think Cap could beat Batman in a straight on fight without gizmos or his shield.

Don't forget one other thing -- Captain America is an honorable fighter, for the most part. Batman is willing to cheat if he has to, which gives him an edge. And the last time the two were up against each other in the comics (DC vs. Marvel), the fight lasted for hours, with Batman just barely winning because Captain America got distracted for a moment.

Actually,I think the stakes are pretty even. You've got one guy who has a few scores of combat xp and only knows a few ways to fight plus self-sustaining ss serum in his veins(which imo does ALOT of compensating for his combat skills),vs a guy with a few decades of combat xp,knows several different ways to fight plus near limitless resources,ridiculously focused and potent mental aptitudes and all accomplished with NO---I repeat NO superhuman abilities of any kind....place your bets!!!

With endless funds..............Bruce Wayne could create a serum to reverse the effects of the Super Solider and defeat Captain America with his training and weapons if he knew when the fight would take place. The majority of Batman's very career consists of planning,surveying and beating opponents more powerful than himself,friends and foes alike. Captian america has military training and probably stronger then bats, but batmans mastered almost every form of combat. i really don't see Cap beating Batman,but everyone has there opinion. Batman can get the better of just about anyone at least once or twice.

True but that fight was FAN VOTED. Fans don't give a damn who would technically win - they just voted for the hero they liked better - it was just a popularity contest to them. So the artists and writers just drew a situation that Batman could win in. They'd make Batman beat Godzilla if the fans voted that way. So no offense, that fight doesn't really prove anything other than Batman is more popular.
I'm still for Cap.

HELLO! Did you read The Dark knight Returns? Or the Dark knight Strikes again? Batman Beets the crap out of SUPERMAN! And in that he is an old man. If he can do that then he is more then able to handle the guy other guy with the US colors. So you should also remember that Batman has the fighting skills of 124 fighting styles. So Cap is out of his league, sure he could put up a fight but he would fall down flat before the worlds greatest Detective.

Alot of heroes can beat Superman if they wore the kryptonite ring Batman had. Unfortunately Cap isn't weak against kryptonite. And it's not like knowing all the martial arts in the world is gonna help you kick an elephant's ass or anything. Cap took down Iron Man without help from any tool other then his shield and he also held his own against Hulk. He's got Batman when it comes to endurance, Bats would tire out first.

well just for the record Batman didn't use Krypronite when he beet superman, just his brains. Even Superman has said "Batman is the most dangerous man on the planet. Also I'm just putting this our there but How would Cap do against the Bat-Wing? Bat-moblie? Bat-Boat? well not to well. And to stop talking about the fighting for a sec, Batman is just a better hero, he's quilities and skills aren't like any other. Come back and talk to me when Cap has the worlds best Cartoon show... Batmobile and Bat-Wing? Well, that's assuming he knows when he'll face Cap and has time to prepare. Wouldn't do him much good if he just suddenly encountered Cap face to face. Most fights happen that way anyway, you don't always see them coming.

Dude, Batman's cool but face it, he's just a man. Don't know why you talk about him like he's a God or something? Batman usually takes til the second time he faces someone to win. He usually gets his clock cleaned the first round. I got this info from a huge comic book fan, he's in his 40's - so he's been reading comics for a while. Bane broke his spine the first round.

The only reason that Bane Beet Batman is because Bane Broke out all of the inmates of Arckum and after three strait days of Batman putting all of them back Bane got the Drop on him.

Actually, Cap has teamed up with Spiderman and took down the Hulk in a fight before. In fact, there's barely anyone in the Marvel universe that Cap hasn't fought and has a good win percentage, including a couple amazing wins over Namor and Iron Man. He can military press 1000 lbs. He doesn't get tired. In a straight up fight... Cap wins. However, they fight differently. Cap charges in, while Batman uses stealth, smarts, and machinery. So if given the tools and preparation, Batman wins.

you concede that Batman is better trained, you need to realise that Batman is also "peak human" like that MVP guy who didn't need magic steroids but magic exercises.
I'll say Cap is approximately 5% faster and stronger than batman, and that the Bat's skill more than makes up for the gap especially if Cap's skill allows him to do such bullshit things to characters out of his weight range. PRESSURE POINTS LOL. Missiles couldn't dent Namor or Hulk's hide, neither should Cap's punches..

funny xD you didn't read it right? in the marvel vs DC BATMAN WON! in the byrne corssover batman said "he is kinda above" (just about the strenghtm and in JLAvengers batman tells to steve rogers "meaby you can beat me but will take a long time", anyone could win that fight xD (just jlavengers is CANON)...
