  • QUIT HATING MY NIGGA BUMPING

  • @1017lilb He's not your nigga. It would be illegal for anyone to own him, lol.

  • When people comment on Steve Gaad videos, do they talk about whiteness? I wish a person of colour could be in just one youtube video without it becoming a race issue.

  • A perfect example on how the drum doesn't make the drummer...

  • "The drum doesn't make the drummer"

  • He went Hard on them set!!!

  • Heck, I would easily be able to PLAY that beat, but I would never come up with it. This is definitely not my own type of playing, but I just love to watch gospel drummers. Sad thing we don't have any churches around that play gospel music.

  • @LaughingOutKraut you wish

  • This "rudiment" isn't on any of my charts and I have three different ones.!!!! If you are going to educated masses of people that don't have access to schooling. Then make sure you are correct. Advice from a world touring musician, its constructive, no love loss.

  • Awesome! Now he just finds to find a real place to play his music, somewhere where people actually care. Not much use letting musical talent go to waste.

  • @KoivuTheHab I think you'll find that he's very much appreciated my friend. you'll aslo find many of the worlds greatest drummers honed their craft playing Gospel music ^_^.

  • Very hot! Can you post more video's? Make a drum video and I'll buy it!

  • I can NOT get enough of his licks at 0:06 through 0:20!!!!

  • Nice! This gospel stuff is tight, it's all fast linear triplet feel.

  • @CORNinfestedP00 dont say that doc...lol

anyone can do it... but tyou gotta remember gospel (just like other styles) has alot to do with expressing feeling and emotion...

  • @ 3:42 he went hard rock!

  • @jabriyan this kid is good but you're going to want to lookup Chris Coleman. It's a whole new level.

  • What is this song called?

  • that was maadd helpful and it sound soo much sicker when you incorporate it on the toms as wellXD

  • Good Job Good Job! Funky drumming for the lord!

  • this youngsta better than half u boys looking at this

  • sticking please

  • thx ,cool groove !

  • whats the name of this song

  • I don't know about you but that hihat sounds hurts my ear... time for an upgrade... : )

  • It's because they are B8 Pro cymbals, that specific type of cymbal by sabian is very loud

  • B8 Pro are extremely bright cymbals high in frequency and being made of B8 bronze can create harsh overtones which is why B20 is preffered cymbal material as it as a higher tin content to even out and smooth the mix

  • @dandrummerdan1 Do think the B8 or B8pro sound better

  • chops for the soul

  • TRUTH

  • Y U NEED STICKING? JUST PAY ATTENTION

  • these gospel fills are a trip .... man , if you pulled these fills out in most other musical contexts you would get fired .

  • theres a lot of things just not in gospel music that if u tried it in most other musical contexts u would get fired. I play a lot of left foot clave but i wouldnt just start playing that stuff in every context

  • @sweetfly66 i thikn it would be kinda cool to hear some more fills like this in punk rock.

  • @pb0o6 Well you can forget about it. No one is gonna waste the energy to do those fills. Just sit back play ok fills and look cool. That is what the music industry is about

  • @KingsofComedy i thought music was about havin fun and soundin good, but i guess i was wrong. sorry about that.

  • @pb0o6 Now don't get me wrong music is about having fun, but I think no matter what genre you play always strive to be good at it. The music industry in itself has put too much emphasis on image and not on actually playing. I was trying to make a joke lol. Just play with all your heart

  • @KingsofComedy gotcha. the sarcasm didnt come off too well in text. my bad.

  • @sweetfly66 so

  • @sweetfly66 That's why they're called GOSPEL CHOPS, take a chill pill homes.

  • This brother knows how to groove

  • What is this guy name?

    Yahaan What?

  • tripple back beat?quadruple polyrhythem? this is honestly not that complicated, just playing some double stroke ghost notes on the back beat... everyone chill out.

  • L R L - So you come back down with your right hand on the hi hat

  • im be real black drummers sound better than us white drummers listen to the chops sound great

  • A white drummer, latin drummer, asian drummer, and black drummer will always have their own sound each one...

  • Already seen it.

  • Where?

  • Any Asian Death Metal band :P. I'm not sure if Maximum The Hormone (Asian band) is a Death Metal band, but they have a badass drummer, and she's a girl if that makes a difference.

  • Comment removed

  • behemoth? lol. decrepit birth, odious mortem, spawn of possession, vader?

  • Yeah... Behemoth... that was weird of me to say. I don't know why I pulled that out of my ass. I removed my comment. Wow, only heard of Decrepit Birth and Vader out of those bands. German band called Sacrificium, they are badass.

  • the other two are tech death metal, so you might not like them...then again, decrepit birth has a tech death album (which i hate) and a brutal death metal album. i have sacrificium's older album, it's like cold flesh or something haha. don't really listen to it unfortunately.

  • Yeah, it's called Cold Black Piece of Flesh. It's really cheap, I like the second, Escaping the Stupor. It's much better sounding although the vocals include some screams as well as growling, but the music is still death. I love technical music. As a musician it's much more interesting to hear guys playing very technical stuff. Unless you're talking about something else entirely.

  • technical death metal is for you then lol. try cryptopsy, psycroptic, decapitated...i'm too lazy to name some more heh

  • Cool.

  • hahahahahaha

  • Bullshit... If they all live in America it's a toss up. The color of the skin means nothing compared to the city and culture where they were raised.

The drummer in my metalcore band is hispanic, but he's never been outside of America. Does he sound different from every other metalcore drummer? Sure... did his skin color magically gift him his sense of style, or do you want to bet it was because of what he listened to growing up?!

Are Scandanavian, Jewish, French and Irish drummers the same?!

  • Massive support to your comment! Seems like many people tend to ignore the influence factors such as culture, upbringing, and opportunities for learning has on our behaviour and personal skills.

Race does not play into it. Period.

  • that's gospel chops sir, color ain't got nothing to do with it.

  • WTF? Does he sound better than Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich? Doesn't matter what race or color...depends on the style and the type of music you play. 9 times out of 10 you won't see a white drummer playing gospel music at an all-black church but I have seen some white boys get down...it's all how about the style and how you were brought up.

  • that was real nice thing on 0.30 to 0.37!!! really good drums...

  • that is like a quadruple polyrhythm

  • It's definitely the most challenging beat I've ever done.

  • so wads the sticking?

  • chris dave played something similar to this beat on F.T.B

  • dayum i think i just shitted my pants

  • unbelievable great feel. great sound enjoyed listening

  • niceee!!!! :)

    how old is he

  • he gone b on another level when he bloom

  • yeah 1:47

  • Man I wish I could have seen the whole video of him drumming from beginning to end with no cut-offs.

  • I love 3:28 - 3:30 he makes it look so easy. Well i guess cause it is for him.

  • ING HES BLACK

  • hey is this a mapex pro series maple snare 12"x7"??

  • Man, I wish i could go to a church like this!

  • b nice

  • good vid thanks man

  • why exactly is it called the triple back beat if your doing doubles on the snare?

  • there are doubles, but if you watch/listen closely when he does it slowly, there's actually triples in there too (when the open hi-hats close...)

  • Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt this the same concept used by John Bonham in Fool in the Rain with the hat/snare parts switched?

  • No Im wrong. Haha.

  • Comment removed

  • incredible!

  • Triple Back Beat?!

    More like Triple BLACK Beat!!

  • so, do you feel clever?

  • hey man, whatch it. I drummed with this cat last year at a jazz show. He's raw.

  • WHOA!

  • can anyone tell me what this guy's name is? They say it at the beginning but i cant understand.

  • this is straight sicc....anybody know tha name of this song

  • donald lawrance. i am heald

  • sick at 0:30-0:35!!!!!!

  • amazing.. maybe i should wear my glasses when i play...dammmmnnn...haha keep it up

  • This drummer is brilliant! Very complicated drumbeat.

  • I got the B8 pros they aren't bad, there not the best but there no bad

  • man this vid brings back memories...i was in 9th grade when i first saw this..and the B8 pros dont sound anywhere near as bad as i thought they did.

  • hey man , thank you wery much ..I did this exercise for less than a minute , and my left hand started to fly---(I have to say that I don't touch the drum from ages!!) I reckon this groove is a perfect warm up too!!Good bless you , thank!

  • SICKNESS

  • this guy is awesome.

  • SICK....PURELY SICK...Who in all these comments really REALLY cares about ANYTHING else but this dude's chops!?

  • I love watching the new breeds. This guy is pure passion and energy. I was never a religious man, but it seems that these guys get alot of inspiration from God. I know that to get chops like this you need to practice religiously(no pun intended) but THESE cats have the gift. The true gift of believing and perservering to become a master at their instruments. And to me, it takes a big faith in God to help you get there.

I better start going to back to Synagogue...

  • i learned so much... man. thank you!

  • Finally learned how to play that intro

  • would you mind giving teh stick??

RL (right, left) and F (foot)?

  • sweet!

  • This dude is a beast

  • aye thank you blackshire21

  • i wunna learn diss

  • how does he play the first thing

  • its not that hard im sure you can see the foot part. his hand are doing 3 on the snare 3 on the hi hat with one or 2 extra notes, i think because i can do that.

  • REALLY cool riff. i also like seeing the guy playing with all that emotion near the end. show's he's passionate about what he's doing. awesome stuff.

  • Reminds me of a keyboard when u can up the tempo on the backing tracks on there lol he's good tho

  • Thats yaahn,he is a MOnster..

  • omg...it's a drum video. go discuss these fallacies of god else where. seriously get over your selves

  • Comment removed

  • im not going to lower myself to your level and argue over this pointless matter. but clearly all that is to be said is that these drummers are really good. but everyone gets so hyped up over something so superstitious and i think is forgetting the true message of this video; "how to do a triple back beat."
