  • bravoooo carrerassssssssssssss

  • Wonderful M Price!

  • HappyWandy457, What a unique performance of this masterpiece! What a miracle at stage seeing this marvelous singers of three countries, matching timbric and dynamically perfect with that choir and orchestra masterly rehearsed by Abbado.

    Hans Fröhlich - Germany

  • Beautifully sung. The editing irritates me by mostly showing Carreras, When we see all four singers, he looks like a midget between Raimondi and Norman. Norman does not look as obese in black, but still is a rare singer who can make Margaret Price look small.

  • La voz de Raimondi suena regia, eclesial...

  • This Usher Hall recrding is the finest version with Raimondi singing at his best. The Mors Stupebit is stupendous

  • Apologies, I meant NORMAN and Carreras, at the beginning.

  • If you can pick one against the other then you are better at it than I am!

Four great singers and a world for of critics. How painful?

  • It's hard to sing higher than Raimondi I guess

  • Actually it's from around 5.00/6.00

  • José, that was sublime. But of course they all were,

José so wonderful somewhere around 5.50/6.00.

  • Raimondi, not a member of the Mafia by any chance?

Wouldn't want to meet him on a dark night!

  • Should see him as Scarpia in Tosca - really scary!

  • He's the best! :)

  • Hmm... many women would like to meet him on a dark night :)

  • I listen to this video/recording more than any other on YouTube.

    My grateful thanks to olaig100.

  • Sooooooooo beautiful. We are lucky to be here and able to listen to it, but they are even luckier to be able to sing it!!!!!!!

    Life's not fair?

  • I'm so glad Verdi wrote this !

  • Price is KILLING it with that feathered collar:)! And I love it! All of them are in fine form.

  • I like the tempo in this video, very humbling and scerene at the end. Must have made the Sanctus following just that much more intense.

  • The BEST part of the Requiem, hands down

  • My Favourite part of the Requiem however not my favourite video of it. My Fav is Karajan with Tomowa-Sintow, Baltsa, Carreras and Van Dam! It's sublime! This is good too, just not my favourite.

  • Wow! Three of the top singers in the world in 1982 and Margaret Price in the Soprano role. Leontyne would have been nicer but Margaret was right there with the other 3. Nice performance.

  • Thank u thank u thank u thaaaaank u!!!!

  • margaret pice's not bad, either... ;-)

  • ...and I looove Jessye Norman as mezzo VERY MUCH!

    ... it's a very touching performance.

  • ah, Jose Carreras, the best...what a voice..
