Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!! This is the video you were talking about in your Colombian series!!! you were going to that giant buddah and you said you wish you could throw a t-shirt over the wires and go down into the water then you said that you said that before in a different video and now i found it and i won't tell anyone which video it is so you get more views and they can't be lazy and just click on a link. you mention it at 7:48 in this video. Did I do good mordeth? did I?? did I??? haha
@Noel127 yeah, I have A.D.D. myself, and maybe a part of the reason I like his video's is that he gets sidetracked and shows some signs of having A.D.D. :) makes it more fun to listen to. And monkeys!
hey m13 do you have A.D.D.? ive seen alot of your videos and in this one you get off topic most of the time coz your attention is easily diverted along the way.. haha
read the warnings carefully mordeth "snakes and monkey" and you still wanna slide down the power line, not cool when you got electrocuted fell down the water, biten by snake, r**ed by monkeys after you reach the small island in the middle. hahha... peace man!
ok Im thinking of buying a Ninja 125 for my birthday next year which Im 16 do you think i should get the bike or do you think i should keep the money for when Im 18 and get a bigger bike
@staffordshirebull909 start with a small bike, you have plenty of years ahead to buy bigger bikes. i'd recommend a bike you wont worry too much about dropping.
@zeeksmitty I went to the MSF course here in California and they said wear a full face and the neck breaking thing is a myth...I suppose it just depends on where you are and who you talk to.
Love the video. Im about to pass my full direct access bike licence very soon. The only 2 wheels i have ridden is a twist and go. The problem im having is im short legged (28 inch inside leg). My dream bike was the Ninja 650. What bike would be suitable for my hight. I know u can lower most bikes and my bike boots will add some hight. The main thing i want out of a bike is that it must have full fairing, handle well and be over 500cc. Any ideas ?
Hey mordeth you should jus put in the beginning of all your vids that your canadian and have been in tiawan teachin english for 10 years so you dont get every third person saying why are u in tiawan, i thought u were in a the states? im confused sort of thing.
Yeah my parents are really against me getting a bike but i tell em ima get it anyway. they tell me save for the damn bike instead of clothes lol. but i know i should buy my gear first.....=D
I'm not getting a bike until early next-year, but I still go round all the bike shops now to try on all the gear and pick odd bits up. I figure I'm best a) spending a bit at a time rather than buying it all at once b) taking advantage of special offers that won't be on later c) making sure that I get the best fitting, most comfortable gear rather than rushing out at the last minute and just buying whatever they have in the first shop I come to.
I specialize in trauma and have found just what Mordeath is saying. By and large we see a lot of the drivers of motorcycles are drunk or are wearing one of those half helmets/brain buckets. Those make up about 60-70% of the motorcycle wrecks we see. Most of the others are either noobs or ones where a car pulls out in front of the rider.
I just think it looks so relaxing driving up a mountain road like that..
I'm taking my lisence next year and getting the Kawazaki ZX6R.. unfortunately the law in my country(Norway) say that before the age of 21 you cant drive bikes with more power than 34 bhp, so it'll be two agonising years with a 34 bhp bike waiting to be unleashed. Looking forwards to the day I can unlock the 130 or so horses that live in that bike, though :-)
Well... People don't just go onto youtube and watch some videos and say, "I'm going to go spend $6000 on a motorcycle." If someones watching a lot of videos about motorcycles, chances are that they where already thinking about buying one. You're more like an encourager.
It's crazy that people spend thousands on a motorcycle and nothing on protection. If you can afford to pay big bucks for a motorcycle then you can afford to pay a few hundred for the protective gear.
I like that when you drive through the mountains it says watch out for snakes and monkeys. When I drive through the mountains there are signs saying watch out for bears and mountain lions.
The only time I see snakes is when I am further south and they lay on the side of the road in the sun. Usually they are rattle snakes whcih makes it funner when ur with friends and they shit themselves when they start to rattle when you walk up to get a picture of it.
Out here in Indiana most of the drunk motorcycle accidents are caused by the drivers of cars plus high speed roads. That's what really keeps me from biking. Love your videos. I should do a car vlog in my mustang...

hey im tryn to get my parents to let me buy a motorcycle and they say no because it "is so dangerous" but like you said most of the crashes r from drunk driving right? wut do u think bout all of tht?
Read the statistics, They only say that becoz its all you hear on the news. Like yes they are "more" dangerous then a car in some ways, but they are not Dangerous, Its only the rider who makes a bike dangerous.
I seen a video M13 posted where it was a head on callision motorcyclist vs a Van and the Moto rider flu over the van and slid across the ground with a few bruises while the driver of the van died on impact or something. In that case is was safer. Just try and piont out the good sides.

dude, you talk to your camera like i talk to my friends. start talking about one thing, then get off focus and completely forget what the main topic was. although, i've got to say, between your videos and the captain crash videos, i've learned more about bikes in one hour than i have over the last 2 months. good videos, and i'll recommend you to anyone that is interested in getting into the sport.
Agreed on the full faced helmet thing, I'm 17 and spent £200+ on my helmet, got home and my mates like "Why? you can get them for £30" i just said, right off the bat "So you value your head at £30?". Spend as much as you can
Taiwan kicks ass. Mordeth rules. Hopefully your marriage is going well. If you can add some new videos to your website! (Fuck YouTube! They SUCK!) I check your site every day... peace man.
totally 100% true about the full face helmet thing - you need one - when I dropped my scooter for the first time at about 60mph I got that adrenaline slow mo matrix type thing people talk about where time slows down and as the helmet hit the ground (where my face would have been if it was open) I remember thinking "gee, I'm sure glad I spent the extra 30 to get the full face helmet with this bike, not the open one.."
I was fine btw :) (thanks to the full face helmet!!)
i dont think you should feel guilty about it. most people stumble upon you cuz they're already interested in motorcycles
ayway, ive decided to get the suzuki sv650s for my first bike. i plan to take the msf course first though. you dont think the suzuki would be to fast do you? i hope not cuz i'm gettin it regardless :)
Hey M13 love the videos man. I'm really interested in getting a bike myself soon. I was just wondering if you could recommend some starter bike for complete beginners.
In one of your vids I think you mentioned you owned a Yamaha cruiser before you got your Ninja, I really like the Virago/Dragstar style. Just looking for some advice any input would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
for an absolute beginner i would take MSF and get a 250. if you have experience on a dirt bike not putting around in a yard on a little pw50 im talking ridding trails or track for at least a couple of years and are able to shift and know how to brake and such i would recommend a 500 or a 650R and of course MSF.
Thanks for the reply. I'm Irish and MSF doesnt exist here. Im a complete beginner. Never even rode a dirt bike. Would it be better to start on a cruiser style rather than a racing stly bike or does it matter?
well it all depends on what riding you want to do. just start on a kawasaki ninja 250R or any other small little two cylinder bike and you should be good i recommend finding a friend with a small or decent sized dirt bike and getting the hang of shifting and gear control and the same applies to a street bike. you dont need to get any fancy or brand new bike as most likely you will wreck at some its inevitable as seeing we are on two wheels and you will eventually loose your balance.
not to small though my first ride was a ar50 powered banded lol there was always times id be thrown off it like a horse one time into a canal :P was mostly cos it was too light , i find 250s are ideal but can strain for power specially for overtaking and can be dangerious if theres to many braindead car drivers around, a 500 is perfect i think if your over 20 for a first buy but thats from my experience
i was going to ask you i was going to buy a suzuki gsxr 600 do you have to hold the clutch down to shift up cause i saw on your other viedio you didnt the only time you held down the clutch only to shift down
Not necessarily true. You can safely shift without clutching if you learn your machine. You can switch gears without clutching by simply doing this. You engage the clutch to drop into first gear. As you gather speed you put very very slight pressure on the shifter. when the engine rpms synchronize with the trans it will simply slide into the next gear smoothly. You can do this through each gear. this is often called speed shifting
Not true at all. any vehicle with a clutch can shift without having the clutch engaged if you do it properly. Big rigs only clutch first gear. Look into speed shifting.
haha! I was thinking the exact same thing about using it as a zipwire down to the island. That would be awesome! Great video and amazing scenery. Thanks for showing it
Great video, I'm making a call to book my learners test soon for my bike as I'm sick of driving into the city/train station and sitting on the train with jerks all day. Have you used a backpack before to carry clothes? I think I'd need one when I travel to work each day to change shoes .. actually spose I could just leave a pair at work! But in anycase, does having a backpack alter the way you ride much? Thanks :)

totally 100% true about the full face helmet thing - you need one - when I dropped my scooter for the first time at about 60mph I got that adrenaline slow mo matrix type thing people talk about where time slows down and as the helmet hit the ground (where my face would have been if it was open) I remember thinking "gee, I'm sure glad I spent the extra 30 to get the full face helmet with this bike, not the open one.."

Thanks.

for an absolute beginner i would take MSF and get a 250. if you have experience on a dirt bike not putting around in a yard on a little pw50 im talking ridding trails or track for at least a couple of years and are able to shift and know how to brake and such i would recommend a 500 or a 650R and of course MSF.
if your new to street riding MSF is a necessity.
beastiekid 3 years ago
Thanks for the reply. I'm Irish and MSF doesnt exist here. Im a complete beginner. Never even rode a dirt bike. Would it be better to start on a cruiser style rather than a racing stly bike or does it matter?
Shrednek 3 years ago
well it all depends on what riding you want to do. just start on a kawasaki ninja 250R or any other small little two cylinder bike and you should be good i recommend finding a friend with a small or decent sized dirt bike and getting the hang of shifting and gear control and the same applies to a street bike. you dont need to get any fancy or brand new bike as most likely you will wreck at some its inevitable as seeing we are on two wheels and you will eventually loose your balance.

Buy something cheap and small for your first bike. Just get the cheapest safe bike you can find.
13mordeth 3 years ago
not to small though my first ride was a ar50 powered banded lol there was always times id be thrown off it like a horse one time into a canal :P was mostly cos it was too light , i find 250s are ideal but can strain for power specially for overtaking and can be dangerious if theres to many braindead car drivers around, a 500 is perfect i think if your over 20 for a first buy but thats from my experience

Easily the best biker video on youtube. Great views, great commentary, great bike, and the ending was priceless! Nice work.

i think the alcohol thing has to do with drunk people in cars to cause they wont even see a motorcycle.

I'd feel weird walking around with a helmet around when I walk .
you realize how silly it looks waving your hands around and stuff, its like just that side of being seen as just using a hands free you know

i was going to ask you i was going to buy a suzuki gsxr 600 do you have to hold the clutch down to shift up cause i saw on your other viedio you didnt the only time you held down the clutch only to shift down
tobin55 4 years ago
yes hold it down all the time u shift
harleymadeintheusa 4 years ago
Not necessarily true. You can safely shift without clutching if you learn your machine. You can switch gears without clutching by simply doing this. You engage the clutch to drop into first gear. As you gather speed you put very very slight pressure on the shifter. when the engine rpms synchronize with the trans it will simply slide into the next gear smoothly. You can do this through each gear. this is often called speed shifting
jezuzfreek777 4 years ago
u can fuck up ur bike dude
leafsandsabres4life 4 years ago
Not true at all. any vehicle with a clutch can shift without having the clutch engaged if you do it properly. Big rigs only clutch first gear. Look into speed shifting.
jezuzfreek777 4 years ago
no no even with bikes
leafsandsabres4life 4 years ago
If you don`t want to brake your gearbox. You can do it but box don`t like that too much.

Thanks :)
NuffNuffJM 4 years ago
Backpacks can complicate accidents....get a tank bag...it's safer and more comfortable.
13mordeth 4 years ago
Not to be nitpicky and call you on it or anything, but how do backpacks complicate motorcycle accidents?
reviver2 4 years ago
It's essential that you are able to roll without being restricted or you have a higher risk of injury.
