There are a lot of sinful christians . One should live by your word . If you say you follow Christ , than go and do like the world , thanyou are more lost than an atheist. Good point . 5*****
There are already too many injustice in this world, with God. However if God always intervenes and brings justice in this world do we need a Heaven? Would we Learn anything, if God stops the bad from happening. Nope. I believe worshiping God in not praying idly, or having blind faith. It is about doing His will, and letting Him shine through you.
Atheists and agnostics I know have a very highly developed moral sense. They behave honestly and compassionately because they are honest and compassionate, not because they seek some reward or fear some punishment. If you refrain from crime or any wrongdoing only out of fear of hell, you are not really a good person, merely a craven one. Like the billboard says, you should be good "for goodness' sake."
Well said- Also I believe we have a deeper appreciation of life itself realizing the odds we all beat just to be alive. Of course, not to mention all the wonderful things we've seen such as the missions to mars and the Hubble telescope. To think that such incredible geniuses like Newton and Einstein as brilliant as they were, WE as laymen get to peer farther through the universe than even they could imagine. We are very fortunate indeed.
Now... If you truly knew the ramifications of Sin, from major sin to minor - (its all sin) then you would understand the consequences of that action - Being Good is a disapline. Say, If you found a bag of money? What would you do? A good person would say I would take it to the police satation and a careless one would say "PAYDAY!" But a spiritual person would say not only is this wrong but what consequences would come from this action - would I open a conduet for others to be affected....
Right, I'm sorry, only theists are capable of morality, a sense of compassion, a guilty conscience. Right, I understand. An atheist could never POSSIBLY possess a sense of right or wrong, only you chosen ones can and the rest are pathetic sinners. No really, I get- You're a better person than I can possibly be- you have an invisible man in a robe with long hair on your side. ....Makes perfect sense.
2eelShmael... What on earth are you talking about? Your specific question in the video was... " Is the only reason you are a good person is becuase you want to go to heaven and don't burn...?" and "Why not do good, because your fellow man suffer?" - Answering this I said that Theistic Morallity is not based on going to hell or heaven but rather understanding the scope of Morality from the view of God - "So we shall have the mind of Christ..." LOL! no comment on "theist only cap of morality" ???
You should read these commmets carefully... And a sense of right and wrong, I clearly explained that a thiest's job is to understand this outside teh physical wrong or right doing - "A good person (theist or Athiest) would say I would take this to the police station - (A thiest) woudl say I should take this to teh police station and what effects take place spiritually... THATS ALL?? Where did you get the other stuff - Athiest and Thiest can be moral - Thiests are understanding God's POV. DONE!
How do you claim to know the mind of god or his point of view? Do you update your info with him weekly or what? Does he send you 'talking points' for the month like political parties?Stop lying to yourself. You know damn well that ALL of what you consider knowledge of god is just regurgitated non-sense from an outdated manuscript. I'll tell you what-If god wrote or inspired the bible, he sure fucked it all up.What a shitty contradictory worthless story he came up with.Hardly omniscience at work.
But herein lies the rub- Different cultures have different views of morality. In Africa, some tribes cut the clitoris off of women so they don't lust for another man. In western culture, you would sit in prison for this, but to them, it's acceptable(from the men's point of view). A"spiritual" person from one of those tribes may have a radically different idea of right and wrong. You just happened by chance to be born into a different culture. If you were in the tribe, all this is normal.
Where is the difference in Morality - Morality is divided up between Evil and Good - Where is the evil? The justice is for not commiting adultry, but where is the difference - They just castrate the clitoris on women - Read Matt 19:12 - body mods arent sinful but are regularly used to correct one's disapline - Buddist Monks, Hindus, They all practice diff forms of disapline but the Basis of Morality is the same... And then there is also what they are obtianing the disapline for.
2eel - Have you ever done something and sometimes you hear a "voice in your head saying no dont or YEA DO IT" by the way Giants made the divisionals congradulations. My Eagles are playing Minn and will meet. :)
Hahaha, oh no @eelShmeal, now he's getting schizo on you! hahaha If only he knew how ironic that comment is when it comes to our theological heroes hearing the voice of "god," in their heads.
2. According to them god only appears to those who have just the right amount of faith. Ironically that applies to the majority of theists (who never claim voices or visions) I guess THEY don't have enough faith either. LMAO
I dont think Theistic Morality is based on being good to go to heaven... way off... The idea of being good is sacrafice, as a Human you should know this - it is hard to be good - it is easy to be bad - The question for you is, why? Why is it a sacrafic to treat others as yourself? Becuase it is a track of disapline... So those who are doing good in Christ are building upon themselves an understanding, and from that understanding, knowledge of Good and Evil - True Good and Evil...
That's true. The most religious countries in the world have the most crime and violence. Secular so-called "godless" countries like Holland, Sweden, Denmark to site a few are the least violent and are at peace with their neighbors.

Right. The reason we don't hear the voices is :
1. We aren't schizophrenic.
2. According to them god only appears to those who have just the right amount of faith. Ironically that applies to the majority of theists (who never claim voices or visions) I guess THEY don't have enough faith either. LMAO

Great video! You nailed it. That is the flaw in theistic morality vs. morality in general.

Theists are frequently immoral. Atheists are usually moral. This has been my experience.
