  • Great song, great band, one of my favorite bands growing up. thank you

  • Just the most perfect pop song of all-time!

  • A great song by a great band! So versatile, yet so fragile. They can sure rock and roll! I play "Badfinger" every day and always will.

  • Take care my Rockers and rest in peace!!!! Your music will live in all of our hearts and keep us remembering the days of the 70s...

  • Badfinger IS in MY Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!!! and that's the ONLY Rock Hall that matters to me!!! :)

  • @buck6233 I hear ya talkin' .... MINE TOO!

  • Listen to Tom Evans' bass playing - very tasteful! :))

  • How this fucking bastards could suicide?!! They were amazing!!

  • I wanna be six years old again!

  • Great Band, Great Video!!!! thanks for sharing!!!!

  • @poptopia1 Yes I thought of that the same for a very long time.

  • great talents and great people....seems like bad things do happen to good people.

  • Stunning. Man's respect to a female old aquaintance. Can't get more romantic than that.

  • Yes a very sad story for such talented singers and songwriters. All they wanted was to write good music, get paid for it and enjoy life. They did write great music. We all miss them.Where are the groups like this today?

  • BADFINGER DESERVES TO BE IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME JUST BECAUSE OF THIS TUNE AND "WITHOUT YOU" ALONE! OF COURSE THEY HAD SO MANY MORE!

  • @JohnNiemsMusic So why aren't they? There are so many lame performers already there! It's in the US right? ( I am from Oz)

  • @novocastrian50 Good question! I wonder the same thing. Yes, it is in the U.S. and they have certainly inducted many lame and lesser performers. Badfinger should have been one of the first...

  • Trivia...Nick Lohri of the NY based band TOYS was slated to replace Pete Ham in the late 70s for the first Badfinger reunion but it got scrapped when one of the remaining members' mother passed away.

  • @mc2NY "slated to replace Pete Ham"

Now that's funny! There is no replacing a Pete Ham.

  • This is what real music is about! Awesome!

  • This has to be one of rock n roll's worst tragedies... and with a Hollywood - Shakespearean ending. What a curse on a great band. Badfinger deserves recognition for their music and songwriting. I don't understand why they are underrated! You can't fathom the loss of two great singers: Pete Ham and Tom Evans. They are legends.

  • @MsWinterangel I hear you loud and clear. This poor band went from being the next Beatles to the likes of this......Yikes!

  • This band could've been legendary if they had just stuck it out. Look at Slade...it seemed to be over and then bam...they hit again in the 80's. Look at Anvil's success now...other bands too could've thrown in the towel..KISS, Rush and more. You don't have to be a huge commercial success to enjoy a lucrative music career...Angel, Kansas, BOC, Rare Earth and many more are still out there touring and playing to packed houses.

  • My gosh, forgot about this song/band. As catchy as anything the beatles did

  • tis not the bad but its a really good song :P

  • Incredible vocals in this song ! I remember well when I heard it for the first time. I was in grammer school back in the early 70's. Great post ! raferdurham !

  • set of six, great music show from a vintage time in our music history,70s,were as good as the previouse decade,

  • Hey Stupid!

Have you had written a hit song?

They had some real issues at that time!

Appreciate the Song not the performance!

    We All Have Issues, Dude!

  • I agree. A Real Tragity what happened to this band.

  • A bad pity most of them are dead.

  • I love singing and playing this song!

  • I like it faster!

  • Pete Ham= most underrated voice of all of rock and roll !

  • If anyone would like to add their support in my campaign to get Swansea City Council to honour Badfinger then please join the facebook group - petition swansea council to honour the band badfinger, thanks and spread the word with your friends :-)

  • I would be happy to do so.

  • such a under rated band.

love these guys, such a tragedy

  • Maybe he should pull off the mic on background vocal - Tom Evans understood this, it seems.

  • Such a brilliant tune.

  • What a great voice Pete had. Excellent faster version.

  • fukkin awesome! RIP pete

  • absolutely amazing band,still my band after 40 years,cheers

  • And Tom and Mike....RIP

  • Nice version but lousy camera work - close-up on the wrong guitar during the solo - sheesh!

  • Grat loud guitars!!!

  • wow- Pete Ham's voice- superb.Never have seen a better vid of this song....makes one sad in a way...

  • If not for these guys and the Raspberries power pop would have died on the vine when the beatles broke up.

  • Great Sound! Great voices! Adorable Guys!

  • SOOO Cute. I use to listen to these guys with my husband over 30 years ago!!

  • this is a much better version than others ive heard.. much more faster and it sounds better that way..

  • This is Badfinger!! Power group, power sound!

  • oh god...a nice video!! They are surely BADFINGER!! Thanks for posting.

  • 4 Aaron someday...sorry I ran

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting!!

  • such talented writers and singers,...thier management and record company should burn in hell for screwing them over so badly...

  • no matter what you say, this is real music, sure beats the modern stuff

  • What could've been. These guys rocked!

  • A tragedy.

  • Great, Great band! What a sound they had.

  • drummer really speeding this song up i've heard them do it alot better

  • Bloody GREAT!!!!! any bands that don't agree....... try and do it like this and post it on the Tube!!!!!!!

  • Aww, I love this song

  • Why are they not in the rock and roll hall of fame?

    Where do we start?

  • go to the web site Badfinger to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. You can sign the petition.

  • Because the RnR HOF sucks ass.

  • The actual true story of Badfinger is really kind of sad... especially since if the two that committed suicide were here today they would probably still be making some the great ear-catching melodies they did back then. I still turn up the radio every time a Badfinger song comes on... amongst coolest of the cool.

  • You said it best...Such a sad ending for a great group of musicians.

  • One bad ass tune!!

  • Too true ! .. Shame they got ripped off by poor management ! .. This is the ultimate story of Rock 'n 'Roll disaster !

  • these gusy are fucking cool i take alot of shit cuiz i have long hair like these guys and peoepl say are you a man or a woman and i almost get in fistfighsts over iit..what i am saying si if you are loookung and thinking what YOU like stick to your guns..be yourSELF be an INDIVIDUAL.

  • I never get tired of this song!

  • Tom Evans = underrated bass player.

  • Great song! Thanks!

  • Pete sounds awesome as always here---Joey sounds like a seal being clubbed.

And tomthefunky, you don't know anything about charisma and you know it---let's not pretend you do.

  • Part of the Beatles success was their charisma.Pete and Tom had zero charisma and as brilliant as they were, they would have had to top themselves over and over with songwriting alone. It's impossible.

  • i disagree in spades.

  • petes death was a loss the band was the next great......btw.... i thought they were with apple... not wb.... I do know paul mc rote come and get it

  • they were for a time and then signed to Warners

  • Warnor Brothers killed Badfinger along with Stan Polley. Their album "Wish You Were Here" continues to be an amazing album easily on par with anything the solo Beatles were doing at that time. That WB took it from the shelves just as it was getting airplay and awesome reviews (Rolling Stone, Billboard, Creem, Circus) is a travesty. Pete and Tommy should still be alive today and we should still be enjoying their music. RIP Pete, Tommy and Mike. Keep the flame and name... Joey!

  • I can't understand why WB did that. Supposedly it was because Stan Polley had withdrawn, er, stolen $100,000 from an escrow account, but if they're trying to recover money from the band, wouldn't it make more sense to help make "Wish You Were Here" a huge hit, then get the money back through sales and, if necessary, litigation? Instead they kill the album and destroy the band (and 2 lives) in the process.

  • I thought the same thing too..

  • dead on pal,r i p pete tom and mike, you were my band for ever, hope to see you in the next world, dont let me down, rob,h,

  • Brilliant! Bravo! again and again!

  • If there has ever been a better pop song written I'd love to hear it.

  • I always love Pete's voice, but I especially love it here---it's a little huskier. Hot!

  • very good and upbeat song.

lol i thought it was pretty funny at the tempo change at the beginning.

badfinger carried the torch after the beatles...

  • Thanks again Raferdurham! This is delicious. Nobody's making music this hot any more, that's for sure. Wish I coulda seen this live, but this is the next best thing!

  • what a musical masterpiece by a true gifted british band, miss you fellas

  • Love this performance! Definitely 5 Stars and then some!

  • whoa joey didnt bring his A game to this one. Still love it though.

  • Isn't that just one of the nastiest guitar sounds ever in the intro?

  • hmmm something wrong with the tempo it gone faster after the intro

  • That's just Mike Gibbons blasting off. He liked to drum fast. Pete had to give it his all to keep up!

  • I think Gibbins played fast because they had to squeeze the last song into to TV time format. They tear right into another song on this fade as the credits roll.

  • Badfinger forever... One of the best groups ever.

  • Que chingon suena el bajo!

  • These guys made at least three of the greatest songs of the 70's: No Matter What, Day After Day, and Baby Blue. All top of the list classics. There were other songs, of course, but these three stand out the most. In fact, I often hear songs and think to myself, God, I wish I could write like that (I can't). Can't say that about a lot of songs, but these three all qualify.

  • Don't forget "Without You." Even if you don't personally like the song, three other artists had hits with it in three different decades, including Nilsson's chart topping cover.

  • Love this version.... Love Pete Ham.... Wish they would have stuck around for the duration...we would have loved to have seen them again...

  • Love the duo of SGs

  • Love it! Love it! Love it!

  • The one and only Badfinger and the one and only Pete Ham!!! I LOVE it!

  • Wonderful video! Pete Ham has such a great voice.

Wow, Mike's drumming must have been a wake-up call for Pete, Tom, and Joey! Well, may be he had to drum faster so they could fit it in at last minute (since it seems this was their last song for the night).

Haha, Crazy Joey, smiling at the camera- very John Lennonish- They both like to joke around on stage.

Great video- RIP Pete, Tom, and Mike- Keep the Badfinger music alive, Joey

  • Is there a live version of Baby Blue from this session?

  • What a great band - this is Power Pop in all its' non-blues glory. This song must've given Pete Townshend many sleepless nights, "how do I better that??????"

  • Fantastic bass on the song

  • This is a great live version. Pete Ham was the best.

  • raferdurham, this is all great stuff you've posted. For once, it actually seems Badfinger was enjoying themselves and giving a great performance to boot. Awesome, absolutely awesome!

  • I love you Pete!!!

  • It's like the Beatles on steroids.

Great rock performance by a great rock band.

  • Great song, one of the best rock songs. Ever. Long live Pete and Badfinger.

  • Sounds like someone turned up a speed button named Mike (Gibbons). He was drumming at 90 miles an hour. Poor Pete was probably thinking HOLY CRAP! But, Pete kept up and rocked it out. As usual, no matter what, Pete was awesome. He may have needed a wiff of oxygen after the song, but he pulled it off.

  • haha mike did it on purpose....RIP guys..."P.S. Stan Polley is a soulless bastard."

  • He's worse than that. Did that son of a bitch die yet? That's when he'll get his just desserts. NO MATTER WHAT STAN POLLEY DOES, his soul is still going to HELL.

  • Yeah, sounds like someone wanted to juice it up a bit. haha

  • Wonderful! Such a treat to see and hear a fully live performance from one of my favorite bands. They sounded great.

  • Badfinger Rocks! Works well faster and the bass is great.

  • I love this version. The fast tempo really gives it a new flavor. Pete does a great job keeping up with Mike's spontanious rave up.

  • great classic Badfinger, one of my favorite bands ever and one of rock music saddest stories

  • This is a classic performance! Raw as all get out! Thanks for posting it!

  • Thank you FabGuy44 for sending me this wonderful performance of Badfinger. This is as raw as you can get....no studio mix...just flat out jamming the tune out! This is so clean it sparkles! GREAT VIDEO! Peace!

    Big R

  • Pete ....love...miss you.

  • Love how the drummer speeds it up to super speed after Pete already set the pace with the guitar riff....lol. Oh well ...still friggin' great tune and RAW live performance... I love raw performances ... pure and awesome !!! Thanks for posting !!!!

  • Ha ha! I noticed that too! When a drummer decides to overrule the original tempo, there's not much anyone can do except hang on tight!

  • Best live version of this song I have seen. What is the television show?
