No we have not, taking Saddam out of power has allowed terrorist groups to go in and take over the country. Thousands of Iraqi civilians have died in this war for no reason. They did not want us there. We have enough problems in out own country that we need ot fix. We can't go around the world and fix every country. We can't try to police the world.

Since you are so doubting of me eightfold - I am curious of your experience in the region. Do you know the Middle East firsthand? Actually I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the region. My Iraqi friends are born in North Africa - several families that spend most of their lives in Iraq working because work is limited in the village I was assigned to.
I never implied that anything was given - it has to be built - earned - created. They have never had even the hope of doing that before. Same is true for the country I lived in (and still visit every two years).
While I don't agree, I can see from some perspectives why one would call our efforts in Iraq "illegal", but I don't understand "immoral". The war is an effort to help a country that has been in massive political, social and economic decline for decades create something more socially just for all its citizens. We may not succeed - indeed Iraqis may not be ready to politically evolve past the tribalism that has dominated the Middle East for 7,000 years. Anyway - best of luck to you.

The only crime I can see committed against "the people of the world" is the failure of more 'first world' governments to stand up against the social injustices being committed against the people of Sudan, Syria, Iran, Burma, North Korea and more than half the sub-Saharan continent of Africa - among others.
Good for you - Social Justice is very important and definitely a worthwhile endeavor. I would argue that its as important for Iraqis as for your honorable friends serving in Iraq. Having lived in the Middle East for a good part of my adult life, I can say that I know several dozen Iraqis that are thankful for your friends service, the Bush administration, and the hope that we have given them of a modern, socially just state someday in the future.

Most of these people on this video are students at American University. I saw these students kill two dogs during the demonstration solely out of cruelty and a thirst for innocent blood. I saw these students rape, steal, secrete, vomit,and go reeling through the streets keying cars. They hanged our troops in effigy. This was the most vile group of people I think I have ever seen.

I saw these hippies at this demonstration in Washington DC do something absolutely unconscionable:
They set up a miniature gallows, and on that gallows, they had five figures that they hanged in effigy. Each figure had the uniform of one of the branches of the service. A marine, a soldier, a sailor, an airman, and a Coast Guard sailor were all hanged, and when the gallows door open, these people screamed with joy. Like evil banshees of anti-American hell.
I had video, but some hippie stole my camera right when I was leaving the demonstration. He saw me filming him trying to smear diarrhea on the columns of the Lincoln Memorial. He hit me over the head with a club. I wasn't surprised at the violence towards me.
I saw a group of protesters surrounding the Washington Monument, urinating against the side of that glorious obelisk, then running away giggling with glee at defacing a treasured symbol of America. I saw a hippie woman, with longer hair in her armpits than on her head, defecating in the Reflecting Pool. I saw a hippie with a shrine set up in which one could light a candle in prayer for the death of our troops. It was a terrible day for America.

To answer your question - modern Japan & Germany are notable examples - in fact prior to WWII - Japan was a monarchy. Actually I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the region. My Iraqi friends are born in North Africa - several families that spend most of their lives in Iraq working because work is limited in the village I was assigned to.
I never implied that anything was given - it has to be built - earned - created. They have never had even the hope of doing that before. Same is true for the country I lived in (and still visit every two years).

While I don't agree, I can see from some perspectives why one would call our efforts in Iraq "illegal", but I don't understand "immoral". The war is an effort to help a country that has been in massive political, social and economic decline for decades create something more socially just for all its citizens. We may not succeed - indeed Iraqis may not be ready to politically evolve past the tribalism that has dominated the Middle East for 7,000 years. Anyway - best of luck to you.

Having lived in the Middle East for a good part of my adult life, I can say that I know several dozen Iraqis that are thankful for your friends service, the Bush administration, and the hope that we have given them of a modern, socially just state someday in the future.

the biggest problem was that we had transportation arranged ahead of time and i know for me in any case that my bus left DC at 630PM to drive back to Boston.
in the future we would need to plan the transportation accordingly.

But on the other hand, as I tried to have my lunch: I overheard some bankers from the federal reserve mention that they needed to step up the media coverage of and about the war in hopes that it would help bring up military recruitment. Because, as one of them said, they needed the extra cash because Dow and other put-option shares were going dirt cheap. And they'd be damned if they were gonna miss out. A sad day for America.

I was there as well and I agree with your assesment that more needs to be done! However, I would argue that this anti-war demonstration had a greater impact than previous ones for that fact that so many participated in the civil disobediance. I believe that the example set on the 17th will inspire others to take that step in future demonstrations!

Most of these people on this video are students at American University. I saw these students kill two dogs during the demonstration solely out of cruelty and a thirst for innocent blood. I saw these students rape, steal, secrete, vomit,and go reeling through the streets keying cars. They hanged our troops in effigy. This was the most vile group of people I think I have ever seen.

I saw a bunch of these bastards at an Army-Navy store way up on 18th St. I saw them change out of their tie-dye shirts and put on military uniforms that they had purchased there and then they walked to the demonstration. These were the people that were the "Veterans Against the War". They were phonies, people. No true member of the military would associate with any of these groups.

I saw these hippies at this demonstration in Washington DC do something absolutely unconscionable:
They set up a miniature gallows, and on that gallows, they had five figures that they hanged in effigy. Each figure had the uniform of one of the branches of the service. A marine, a soldier, a sailor, an airman, and a Coast Guard sailor were all hanged, and when the gallows door open, these people screamed with joy. Like evil banshees of anti-American hell.

I had video, but some hippie stole my camera right when I was leaving the demonstration. He saw me filming him trying to smear diarrhea on the columns of the Lincoln Memorial. He hit me over the head with a club. I wasn't surprised at the violence towards me.

I saw a group of protesters surrounding the Washington Monument, urinating against the side of that glorious obelisk, then running away giggling with glee at defacing a treasured symbol of America. I saw a hippie woman, with longer hair in her armpits than on her head, defecating in the Reflecting Pool. I saw a hippie with a shrine set up in which one could light a candle in prayer for the death of our troops. It was a terrible day for America.
