It was prescribed to him during rehab after Tommy John surgery in 2003. Coward?? There was nothing secret about it and MLB itself declared there was no wrong doing by Ankiel or the medical staff that prescribed it. It was a legal hormone. There are cheaters out there but Ankiel is not one, and there is nothing lucky about having Tommy John surgery.
