@MMAbigsexy No, he isn't. Haven't you read the script? the film is called "Django Unchained" not "Django" and it is about a former slave on a vendetta against former slavers with the help of a german scientist/smart guy with gizmos and technological gadgets.

Not a gatling gun. You'll notice that all of the barrels are firing at random (I wonder how the feeding system works), whereas, in a gatling gun, only the barrel that is aligned with the firing pin fires. As for the 'sense seeking', I was just wondering why they had Django firing such a peculiar (and completely made up, let's not forget) firearm instead of sticking with the real deal just like Gian Maria Volontè (firing an actual Gatling) in For a Fistful of Dollars by Sergio Leone.

@loribit85 There are countless movies out there with exaggerated, made up guns... Why would a movie do that? Because they're big and bad-ass! The rest of us eat it up because it looks awesome!!! If you can't get into it then stick to documentaries. And BTW the gun is one of the main ingredient that helped spark the 30+ ripp-off sequels of Django (only 1 was an official sequel)

Although I find it a bit cheesy to be on par with Leone's films, I must say that the concept of a lone gunslinger that wanders around dragging an MG in a coffin is awesomely delirous!

@loribit85 - It is based on the "Mitrailleuse", but other anachronisms with the operation and ammo are artistic license. 'Fistful of Dollars' also used a Mitrailleuse, not a Gatling.
