Congratulations, great result! I love fly and I am tretraplegic me too since a 31 year ago. It's a shae I can't see your level of injury, it will be interesting see you in your wheelchair for a better understanding. The same for the modification in the plane.
jon that was the most incredibul thing i ever saw iv been himin hawin about getting my sport pilot license but after i seen you fly like a pro i finely went and did it i finely did it and got my license thank you so much for the insperation when i was soloin for my first time i had a smile from ear to ear thinking about when i watched you soloin and the smile you must of had to GOOD LUCK jon and happy flying
Yes I was grinning for a while after my first solo. Actually, I still get a buzz after every solo. Not sure if it means just that bit more when you spend most of your time in a wheelchair. Anyway, it's been great for me.
Congratulations mate. I just got a Shadow CD but your landing was somewhat better than my first few! So do tell... were you grinning from ear to ear for a good few days after your first solo? I nearly get as excited as the people coming down after their first solo, as there is just nothing to compare it to is there?
I have flown with Raymond Proost too! He is a wonderful person to help you to fly. I flew G-MWVG one of Raymonds shadows. Well done at your solo it was brill! I hope i follow your footsteps soon!
Hi Mr Rudge, that is amazing. So you dont need a license for a plane like that? I too am a quad and would love to fly, even if with an instructor. Any other suggestions? I live in USA, so I wonder if the FAA would allow that?
Hi there, wheelofadeal. Thanks for your kind comments. You certainly need a licence to fly one of these things if you are planning to fly solo for any distance. Certainly there are disabled flying organisations in America, so the FAA must allow it. In fact somebody gave me the details of one such organisation recently and I'll try to get you the details of it soon.
Outstanding! There is no feeling quite like that first solo is there? You're quite an inspiration. Who manufactures that aircraft? I'd like to pull some specs on it. I'm looking at building another plane in the near future and that one looks interesting.
Hi, 1SKILO, thanks for your comments. It's a British designed plane, the Shadow. It's a great plane but unfortunately the manufacturers, CFM, went bust a while back. Not sure how you'd build one now. You're right, that first solo leaves you feeling on top of the world.
Awesome!!!!!!!
