I think the point is that the police did not do a proper investigation on the case. They simply acted on an anonymous tips without any further investigation. If you didnt know, a single anonymous tip is not enough to obtain a search warrant. They were also believed to have used FLIR cameras prior to receiving any kind of signed warrant.
