@toot344 A music teacher of mine Brett Anthony from VFS that year played an original piece for my Short. Apologies my friend. This music is as nameless as it is beautiful.
After i saw this video, i got really inspired, and i actualy wanna start up with this whole animation thing, it seems really cool, and from what i picked up after seeing this animation, is that one little cartoon, can change people forever. So justin, if you would respond, and actualy give me a couple of pointers and introduction about how this animating thing works... i would like to learn from you mostly, your the only animator ive ever seen that can pack so mutch emotion into your work
Well with this one I spent about a month writing the story and then trimming it down many times to the very basic idea. as for animation If you want to learn get into a traditional animation class and learn about the principles involved. I'll write some more later but I'm at work right now. :P
The truth is animation like allot of things ain't so piece of cake. But I think anything a person's interested in with a little effort can achieve. I was probably the most intimidated student when I started cause it looked like allot to learn. But I stuck with it, I love it, it can be done! If you want to know something else ask away and I'll answer as best I can. :)
I can draw but there are definitely guys that draw better in the industry. you don't have to be the best to become the best at anything. or at least really good. Just pick what you want to do and do it as well as your able to do. you'll do fine.
wow. you should get a standing ovation for this piece! absolutely brilliant in every way!! what did you use to model and render the characters? ive been using 3ds max for a couple months now and my results are rather lean in comparison to this. great execution man, keep it up!
I was wondering when someone would notice that. I locked the camera mostly to stage the animation nicely and really showcase it. The two simple moves I make in the whole film are at the two most key storytelling moments. The result is a subtle way of drawing the veiwer into those moments and making them feel the impact. Thanks for the coment.
Very powerful and moving. I am appreciating the traditional key-frame approach. As I myself am still learning Maya, I really cant giv much comment other to say I am very impressed. Good movement, good music, and very clear story-telling ability without vocals, which I think is a lost art in this day and age of dialog. Bravo!
AnnieCanada sent me. I am impressed by the depth of understanding in light of the advances in medicine ( stem cell research ) to help others by using cells from their body to treat disease. This is an excellent film and has much social awareness and value.

Did you use motion capture or just position it in the computer? Very realistic, I thought.
Kailys3 5 years ago
There was no motion capture at all. Everything here is hand keyed from scratch. Just the way I like it.

wow, den you have skilllsss :p should go apply for Bethesda Softworks, see if Elder Scrolls V can have some actual decent movement x.x
