  • This is so sweet. I watched in church, and just about cried. I have been obsessed with it ever sonce. I love the song. What is it!?

  • WHATS THE SONG D:!!!!

  • @toot344 A music teacher of mine Brett Anthony from VFS that year played an original piece for my Short. Apologies my friend. This music is as nameless as it is beautiful.

  • Wow this is very emotional in a weird way... Nice job man!

  • that was great, animation so life like.

  • this was a really really really good video!

I don't know how else to describe it, haha

  • pretty good =) very beautiful story

  • Very nice.

  • That was beautiful!

  • impressive work

  • This is one of the best, no doubt about it! The animation really has life to it. Brilliant story! I hope you keep on making these.

  • Sweet! Thanks a ton for the comment. I will indeed make more films like this. Even though free time to do it is tough to find these days. :)

  • that was good

  • Thanks.

  • After i saw this video, i got really inspired, and i actualy wanna start up with this whole animation thing, it seems really cool, and from what i picked up after seeing this animation, is that one little cartoon, can change people forever. So justin, if you would respond, and actualy give me a couple of pointers and introduction about how this animating thing works... i would like to learn from you mostly, your the only animator ive ever seen that can pack so mutch emotion into your work

  • Well with this one I spent about a month writing the story and then trimming it down many times to the very basic idea. as for animation If you want to learn get into a traditional animation class and learn about the principles involved. I'll write some more later but I'm at work right now. :P

  • The truth is animation like allot of things ain't so piece of cake. But I think anything a person's interested in with a little effort can achieve. I was probably the most intimidated student when I started cause it looked like allot to learn. But I stuck with it, I love it, it can be done! If you want to know something else ask away and I'll answer as best I can. :)

  • kk, ty! btw, do you haveto be an artist to animate?

i dont think i can draw all to well, im only 13 :(

  • I can draw but there are definitely guys that draw better in the industry. you don't have to be the best to become the best at anything. or at least really good. Just pick what you want to do and do it as well as your able to do. you'll do fine.

  • wow. you should get a standing ovation for this piece! absolutely brilliant in every way!! what did you use to model and render the characters? ive been using 3ds max for a couple months now and my results are rather lean in comparison to this. great execution man, keep it up!

  • this is probably my favorite video on youtube. it has a very important lesson to it, one that we all must learn from.

  • very intresting, I liked it how the camera was NOT moving.

  • I was wondering when someone would notice that. I locked the camera mostly to stage the animation nicely and really showcase it. The two simple moves I make in the whole film are at the two most key storytelling moments. The result is a subtle way of drawing the veiwer into those moments and making them feel the impact. Thanks for the coment.

  • The camera moves three times right? Or am I just going crazy? 00:39 01:27 and 1:53. Please tell me if I am wrong.... (o__o)

  • Oops..your right! Thats embarrassing. I moved it thrice.

  • It's all good. Btw, I really enjoyed this. I was almost moved to tears. Congrats!

  • That was really sweet of the robot to help the dog. Nice job on the video!

  • dude this video is awesome im gonna look for a way i can start 3D animating now because i liked this alot

  • fanntastic

its a most important human mind.

  • muy liiiiindo video

    gracias

  • Very nice!! I like how you did the shadows of the human robot. And also the story line was very touching. Made me cry... :(

  • Wow. That was really touching, it got the pee in my eyes.

Good modeling job you did, too.

  • Very powerful and moving. I am appreciating the traditional key-frame approach. As I myself am still learning Maya, I really cant giv much comment other to say I am very impressed. Good movement, good music, and very clear story-telling ability without vocals, which I think is a lost art in this day and age of dialog. Bravo!

  • Cool!

  • daniel found this one a while ago and showed it to me, it almost made me cry. very well done i thought. it was really sweet too

  • wow. that was really good.

  • wow!

  • Amazing

  • aww :p

Did you use motion capture or just position it in the computer? Very realistic, I thought.

  • There was no motion capture at all. Everything here is hand keyed from scratch. Just the way I like it.

  • wow, den you have skilllsss :p should go apply for Bethesda Softworks, see if Elder Scrolls V can have some actual decent movement x.x

  • *hiding tears

    your animation is fantastic

  • that was really cute

  • A great Video Very Moving. I showed it to my kids, they loved it too. Top marks. 5 Stars

  • Enjoyed it, well done animation and touching theme.

  • Cool beans! This was awesome... on so many levels! 5*

AnnieCanada sent me. I am impressed by the depth of understanding in light of the advances in medicine ( stem cell research ) to help others by using cells from their body to treat disease. This is an excellent film and has much social awareness and value.
