Elk fighting, sparring, bugling Rocky Mtn. Nat Park

I've seen this on a hike from YMCA of the rockies today (10-22-2010). We were hiking up to the beaver ponds, and we saw two elk going at it. This man walked by with a dog, once he was clear of us, he let the dog off of the leash, and the dog charged at the elk. (I think he did it on purpous to threaten my life) They followed us at a joggng rate. I ran up the mountainand stopped. They were still coming. So I ran and hid behind aa Ponderosa Pine.
