Think this video has a point ---- Hewlett Packard now out of manufacturing PC's and into software (Death of PC's and the Death of torrents coming true perhaps???????....COOL VIDEO!
@juangodalming Just imagine a graphic designer working on a smarthphone! EASY. Look at my new Server. Its an smarthphone!...most PC's are not servers, bad comparison. Writing on an iPad EASY..........PC's are dying slowly.
Death of torrents? Wow. That's a bit too optimistic, don't you think?
One thing is true though: smartphones are much more powerful than a couple of years ago and now can almost replace basic functions of a pc. My iPhone is the perfect gadget to surf the web, listen to music and watch youtube videos all while USING A PC TO WORK ON.
@eddygtube Hi and no to the torrents point, Apps are the future, controlled but cheap..!...torrents will die a slow death bit by bit....pun intended....;)
@MobileInquirer "torrents will die a slow death" They probably will die. So slowly they'll probably outlive us. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
On February 11, 2011, Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft which would see it adopt Windows Phone 7 for smartphones, reducing the number of devices running Symbian over the coming two years.[14]. As a consequence, the use of the Symbian platform for building mobile applications dropped rapidly. A June 2011 research indicated that over 39% of mobile developers using Symbian at the time of publication, were planning to abandon the platform.
@chltmdwp How will the sale of an item like a smart phone, with a shelf life of 1-2 years have the same fall off as a laptop or computer with a shelf life of 4-6 years.....@chltmdwp...yet again, your kind of silly in your remarks.
Nokia's Symbian is still number 2 Globally as a Smart Phone O/S - Not in the US - granted....and yes it changed to Windows Phone 7 this year.
There is more to the World than just America and many the world over are still using Symbian: "On February 11th, 2011, Nokia announced that it would migrate away from Symbian to Windows Phone 7"......lmao.
lol nokia's symbian 2nd.... yea right you mean windows phone 7 os? But this video is kind of not accurate. We all know most people have computers so it makes sense that smartphone is outselling computers in the future. But once the smartphone approaches the peak, it is gonna fall like computers.
@chltmdwp The video is totally correct re: Symbian.

The thing I believe is the most interesting part of the new smart phone rise is that they allow you to do things that were very difficult to do before such as browse the internet quickly and with a decent looking application.....this is truly when social media becomes all encompassing I am sure!......love the video!.....
Cool video and some very interesting facts about smart phones and their growth, personally I own an iPhone and love it and suppose I would class myself as an ealry adopter....cool track too!
I like my Droid Global ,but I like my 23 inch monitor, real key board, and big,AND CD DRIVE, comfortable computer chair....

@ClarksonsinUSA Sure but when you are out and about that sounds like a heavy bit of kit to find a wall socket!

@MobileInquirer Sure because us, the working class, are out and about all day long instead of sitting in front of PC working.
Although my iPhone is my window to the outside world for those long work hours
