that's so cool.. since you're probably using special characters, may i ask how you managed to get the unicode/iso-8859-2 charset working in xterm? i could never get that to work (accented characters aren't displayed correctly in mrxvt/lynx etc. if they're displayed at all). thanks.
@bamdadkhan I actually use the default encoding (UTF-8). As far as I know, you should set the LANG environment variable (according to my shell's man page ... TCSH) . For keyboard input, see chapter 5.8 in the NetBSD Guide.
PS: GTK applications, like GIMP, set their locale according to LANG.
@classicmanpro wow, unicode is enabled by default now? i'm still using the 4.x line. thanks for replying. i'll try upgrading and setting LANG correctly afterwards.
Very nice ... does it really have a steep learning curve ... or it is just following the rules like in ArchLinux and gentoo ?

@NourMansur NetBSD is easy to use, as long as you read The Guide.

@mptrax KDE 3.x ... I've tried to obtain the same look and feel with KDE 4.x but, unfortunately, KDE 4.x is (too much) Vista-like :(

Pretty neat. I myself have used many flavors of Unix, as well as Linux. Gotta look into NetBSD.
