I'd like to see a Maxima try to keep up with A CTS-V. I do agree that the V is somewhat of a snob car, but when you think about it, the ZR1 gets the same motor and costs double the price.... so which one's REALLY the snob car?

It's a bit weird that Cadillac made a sports car that really works. It's faster and handles slightly better than a BMW M5 - just too bad Cadillac doesn't have any history of making sports cars.
GM with Caddy , the cream of the crop has to think upscale and performance, With Buick, has to think Luxury and upscale. The rest of the crop, the likes of Chevy have to think reliability and affordability. So far so good!

Amazing car,did Nurburgring in 7 minuts and 59 second which makes it the fastest sedan,but still i think it would be better if it had rear spoiler for safty at high speeds,i know it may affect top speed,but it safer.wouldnt be great if they make a removable spoiler :).
GM was supposed to build the coupe, but delayed production because of their financial situation, the reason i know that is because i work for the Cadillac plant that builds these beatiful machines. And let me tell you to see the first one come off the end of the assembly line was quite exciting. The car is sweet. I just wish alot more people knew how great this product is.

The CTSv is an amazing car. I'm glad GM finally did something about the CTSv line and made it more competitive. 7:59 N'ring time is killer as well.
However we CANNOT compare this car to an M5 designed and engineered in 2004+. Even the current 2009 M5 is based off the 2004 platform.
2004-2008 CTSv competes with the 2004+ M5. The M5 dominated that generation.
The TRUE and FAIR competition will come with the NEXT M5 of the current CTSv generation. Come on ROd, you know you want to ;)

The only thing that can save GM is if our govt. taxes the import companies for bringing their junk into the states like it taxes GM for shipping their cars out of the country. It doesn;t matter what car they come out with, if people don't have jobs they won't be able to buy cars, COMMON SENSE.

yeah I hear ya. It is still ligher than the M5. Its just hard to get a modern sedan in that segment to be light. I think its a decent weight for the size of the car. But ya lighter is always better

Hmm, yeah I suppose there are the safety concerns, so it's not as if they can make this car out of aluminum or something. I still think it's a pretty sweet car, imagine that, a quality domestic - in fact GM has released a few of them in the last little while. If only they learned that quality was important five years ago or something.

Actually yes many of us do love Europeans, and the other nations of the world. wow im not a big fan of cadilac and as a lexus employe, but i have to be honest what an amazing car, nice disgned, and porbably cheaper then what i was thinking of getting an (lexus IS-F). ad it also a bit faster then the IS_F but the F gets a better mpg. but cngrats caddi i bet the american car fans are happy to have this MEAN machine!!

If americans bought american cars without question then the american automakers would have no incentive to compete with foreign products, and it would kill trade economy with foreign countries. The argument could be made that people who buy foreign cars are in fact encouraging american automakers to be better and helping the country in the long run.
It is blind, misguided patriotism that is the largest risk to America.
