  • this film pissed kryky off he's no sense of humour. ha

  • Alan Rickman?

  • My mum is seriously catholic and she loves this!!

  • Is this a parody of the OWS lefties?

  • Yes it does sound like Occupy Wall Street because in that movement, anyone can become the leader here. And the power of the voice of that rotating leader is proportionate to the support of their words. A beautiful and engaging act of direct democracy, and quite opposite to the "zombie" slur, and rather the celebration of any unique individual at any unique moment.

  • @rshimunov

1- You havent a fucking clue what DIRECT DEMOCRACY is ! ( look it up stupid)

2- OWS are retarded parrots repeating what anyone says, NOT being individuals nor thinking for themselves.

  • @squareXOtriangle Bunch of mindles zombies (period). Sad but true. Clyde Lewis did a whole show called "TTHE CALL AND RETURN OF THE ZOMBIE" with a a scholar of "neurolinguistic programming". It's creepy. I can't be with the OWS people when they do that.

  • Occupy Wall St anyone? :P

  • John Cleese isn't different.

  • Big pointy teeth!

  • Occupy Camelot!

  • That wasn't five minutes!

  • "You're all going to make comments about the best part of this video!"

    "I'm not."

  • We are no longer the knights who say "NI!, we are now the knights that spend hours on end in YouTube during work, not getting any work done at all... :(

  • @guilty787 Your cubicle would look a lot better with A SHRUBBERY!

  • Shhh

  • Funny thing: The "I'm not" guy was originally an extra. That was an improvised line.

  • The "no I'm not" guy wins the game. The only thing that would have won harder is someone saying, "Actually, you're all the same."

  • @VulcanFleet Fail.

  • Thumbs up if you're different.

  • haha, thinking of this movie saved me from falling asleep, when I had to go to church, to my cousins komunion, brilliant!

  • "yes, we are all different! - no i'm not" haha :D

  • @Dummweltschutz

That guy unwillingly pointed out a paradox, actually. If he's the only one who isn't different, this automatically makes him different.

  • @pr0kris o rly?

  • @pr0kris The guy saying "I'm not" is the gourd man Terry Baylor. Who also add libbed the line "I'm Brian and so is my wife!" He appears in Timebandits as one of Napoleon's generals. And in the film 'Chemical Wedding' as Dr Brent. Anecdotes like this can be found in the new outrageous book 'Life of (Brian) Jesus' available from Python's 'deadparrotshop' or Amazon. More details on facebook -'Life of (Brian) Jesus'

  • so ironic that the only person to say they werent different was the only one XD

    i luv monty python

  • "I'm not" XD

  • Very funny Monty Python, tell us more!

  • @MrYissachar no shit sherlock

  • You know... this seen depicts my typical day at the office. Until you're a supervisor, you won't understand :D

  • wasn homo ne!!!??? du mongo Junge!!!!!

  • The best part of the movie!!

  • The Tea Party.

  • apparently the "I'm not" line wasn't scripted, which makes it even more brilliant.

  • This film just shows how religion is a toxic virus and how people are so gullible.

  • we are all different!...... im not XD

  • This is what i am preaching in my church ironically . . . .

  • shh

  • 0:39 :)

  • 7 viewers are not individuals.

  • 7 people are not individuals.

  • 0:33

  • There was bound to be a row on this one...

  • i believe in god, but i really don't get christianity, i mean a snake getting a girl to eat a magic fruit caused god to put a curse on all mankind that could only be reversed by his son being crucified? how does that make any sense? it sounds like something you'd find as the base plot of an anime

  • hands down one of the funniest movies ever and also manages to illuminate the hypocrisy of religion- without being vicious!

  • @salvadory you can not use the term hands down ...and then say one of the funniest ......hands down is a term reserved for the best of something...and the none of ..well thats a term for mediocrity

  • @bellboy1973 get a life - if i want to write and speak proper english ill go back to school - in the meantime go troll somewhere else please!

  • danm havent seen this in a long time, got to go and buy it...

  • ''Yes we are all different'' ''Im not'' ''SSH'' :D laughed on that :)

  • 0:42 LOL!!! :D

I would say that is the definition of Irony!!

Monty Python could be effin' brilliant at times. (most of the time actually)

  • I'm Catholic, and I find this funny. Brian makes more sense than any religious leader out there. We're all individuals.

  • YES, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT! XD

  • @Nicotrz I'm not...

  • My family has a tradition of watching this on Good Friday

  • @WhatIAm99 hahahahahaha

  • Haha, awesome

  • I'm not

  • Love this movie, have loved it since I was a little person, will love it until I am a skeleton person.

  • Aaahhh some real irony, I almost forgot the concept of it thanks to the "internets" xD

  • I remembered i laughed hard when he said "im not"

  • @yurf9

Best part of the "I'm not" line is that it wasn't scripted, the extra just threw it out there, and got a pay raise for it.

  • so awesome XD

  • its just so funny thats all?

  • @abcpaulobrien its extremely ironic, thats the point

  • "Yes! We're all individuals!"

    "I'm not."

Is Hans Moleman in the crowd?

  • lol and the funny thing is he's the only one that IS actually different. oh man the layers of depth in every single scene of this movie. this movie is the ultimate argument against religion.

  • It is not an argument against religion. It is all funny for a better reason.

  • *aiming football at groin*

  • I often think that religious extremism is the original form of fascism. Preachers like Billy Graham just use the same mass emotionalism that Hitler used, religious instruction in schools is very like fascist indoctrination and we've had religious nuts in the USA publicly burning Harry Potter books. I really think Chaplin could have had a scene similar to this in The Great Dictator with the Jewish barber mistaken for Hynkel telling a crowd "You've all got to think for yourselves".

  • all in all you're just another brick in the wall

  • "I'm not"... Hahaha. Best comment in movie history! xD

  • @TommyDaGreat Shhh

  • you gotta get your head out of your ass, if you believe in god

  • "tell us more!"

  • lol

  • "I'm not" goes down as one of the pinnacle moments in artistic history.

The thing about Python though is volume. Not that their stuff isn't any good. Most of it is. There is so much of it though, it just about makes a mockery of humour itself.

  • ROFLMAO i always almost pee my pants about the guy: "im not"

  • i love this film more than i could ever say. beautifully well done, so clever and so brave.thankyou monty python and thanks for putting this up!

  • that´s enough!:D

  • The most important 1 minute's viewing in anyone's lifetime.

It's a pity it went for 1 minute and 5 seconds. Otherwise I might have sounded profound.

    Thanks heaps.

  • I'm a Christian and I don't find theis film in anyway blasphemous.

  • thats cos its not!i know a girl who refused to watch it cos shed heard what it was about, but its so not about mocking christianity, its about looking at humanity itself. its laughing at all of us really. i love this film because its the funniest film ever made, and because its showing us what we really are, and that its ok to laugh at that.

  • haha, Destroy All Humans! 2 used something similar to this during the ninja speach

  • "You are all different"

    "Im Not" xD

  • @arbootieoaks

And anyway, if you actually understood the definition of a UFO then you would realize that it just means unidentified flying object.

Anything can be a UFO you idiot :)

You meant aliens in space craft.

You been shagging to many sheep's out in the wild back me thinks...

  • lol of course I know what UFO means.

"This is why the USA/UK other government's won't relese documents on UFO's as it would cause chaos all over the world lol" - that is what you said, it seemed weird considering other things you've written.

and no, i'm not a "bible billie" i'm an atheist.

  • Cool, I was unable to find that comment as I had made a few.

UFO's are real...What they are is subject to debate though.

I think most can be explained by natural sources and military experiments.

Ahh i remember why i made that comment now, it was in the context of religion mate. Should the Governments release anything regarding any stuff they (may) know about other civys then it would cause chaos amongst the established religions (who have power in USA)

  • Monty Python: 1

    Organised Religion: 0

  • @NozFwbit

    Monty Python: 1

    Main stream: 0

  • @NozFwbit this attitude goes far beyond religion

  • @NozFwbit very concise

  • The only people this movie offends are those who need offending. It mocks all that is wrong with organized religion in a very funny way. You'd have to be daft not to 1) recognize it and 2) laugh out a lung. Or two.

  • @LadyhawkLH nope, the only ones this offends is people who get thrown out of their beautiful fairyland and hit the bottom of reality face forward. thus being confronted with their own naivety. that can hurt, you know.

  • @LadyhawkLH what exactly does this show is WRONG with organized religion?

  • @LadyhawkLH you forgot the peoples front of judea it also mocks constipated leftists they in many ways are even worse that religious zealots..same thing really

  • Best scene from my 3rd favourite movie.

    Thanks for the lyrics.

  • What are the other two?

  • Dr. Strangelove, High Hopes

  • ...I'm not hahahahah

  • Sssh, sssh...

  • Yeah It's becasue their brains have been so conditioned to believe in these things that to suddenly go against it would be to go against decades of belief.

This is why the USA/UK other government's won't relese documents on UFO's as it would cause chaos all over the world lol

  • lol wtf? you're a ufo believer? or was that some kind of hilarious sarcasm?

  • Err hehe I went through my comments and I don't understand what your getting at?

When did I refer to UFO's? lol

This is no place for Bible billies...

  • Funny thing is, Brian makes more sense than our leaders. Stop following the other goats and be the leader yourself.

You're your own person. Stop trying to fit in

the box. I still believe in God, yet in my

    way.

  • I agree, I believe in God and Jesus Christ, but don't attend Church or denomination. Think outside the bun ppl. God is there...

  • There is no god, there is no demon, there is no UFO there is no nothing. it's just us as of now, unless we discover new life or something. Till the time we are here, we might as well stop fighting about silly things and live a life.

  • @forestinfullbloom Well it goes like this: It is a fallacious argument either way. If something can neither be proven or disproven yet a claim is made to either of those effects it is a fallacious argument. Ironically, you made the same error, logically speaking, as someone who would claim the existence of a god or a demon or a UFO so far as our current instruments allow. My gaydar is awesome but my messiahometer is yet to be invented; not for lack of trying.

  • @ezekieloak Semantics.

  • George Harrison win at 0:40

  • hahahah this film pwn'd religion :0

  • "I'm not" guy is George Harrison if anyone didn't see the earlier comments heh

  • ROFL

    "I'm not"

    -Shhh

    Hes the only one xD

  • I love that part! Seriously people, your all arguing on the internet. And if that's not stupid enough, you're all arguing on YOUTUBE COMMENTS!

  • Hahaha damn right! Sad...so sad...

  • @TGGeko How is that relevant in any way? Do words change their value or meaning depending on where one conveys them? What is stupid is you taking some sort of holier-than-thou satisfaction by you doing the very same thing that you are criticizing others for, while your criticism is misguided and ignorant to begin with.

  • Why am i seeing comments about jesus, prophecies and messiahs?

it's Fucking LIFE OF BRIAN! It's a comedy!

  • @Firefret30003

    Religion makes me laugh too.

  • Brian is right

  • If you were about to play softball, and dust from the ground blew all over everyone in your dugout and you don't think that that is a bad omen, and there is something saying "You'll lose," then you don't belong on your knees asking an imaginary all-knowing god to forgive you for taking a candy bar from a multi-billion dollar corporation.

  • If you think there is a difference between "belief" and "superstition," you are dead wrong. I had a conversation with a Christian during dinner. The Christian says "I wonder if the space rocket will go up." I said, "What do you mean?" He replies, "Well first the jet fuel leaked out one day, then lighting struck the base several times, another day a guy was sick..." "That sounds like a bad omen. Maybe they shouldn't go up." "That's just crazy superstition." "Well, didn't you just pray to a God?"

  • im not

  • well you've totally missed the entire point of this scene so good job

  • What so Christians don't hang on Jesus's every word, and will do anything he asks of them? that's the point they are trying to make.

Do you not gather in large groups like sheep and follow what the 'Messiah' says?

    baaaa baaa

  • Well that is your opinion really, and i know most Christians would not agree with you, my family are included in that, as most find going to church a must. Jesus created the notion of Heaven and Hell, i cannot worship someone who would say such a thing, even the OT does not have eternal bliss or hellfire for the dead, and The OT is probably the most immoral book ever.

  • Therefore i am very glad there is no evidence to suggest any of it is real. I don't believe in anything spiritual, and i would like proof if you have any? i would rather deal with observable evidence presented by the natural material world.

  • I have no qualms with you believing in a God, as long as you are not a fundie, even your founding fathers were scared of organised religion because of the power it holds over the people. If there is a God, and i am willing to accept i could be wrong as you could be too, I really feel it is not a God of any worldly religion.

  • I mean how can you worship a being who sent his own son to his death to save us? that is completely morally bankrupt, and if it was real, i would feel even worse about it. I didn't ask for life and i certainly won't worship an unprovable, unknowable God, especially when things like The Bible claim to know God's mind, that for me is greater blasphemy then any other non-believer could bring upon themselves.

  • Yes, it would seem morally bankrupt if you hadn't read the rest of the story.

You didn't ask for life? Then why do you still keep it?

The Bible doesn't claim to know God's mind, in fact, Jesus even says that we can't fully comprehend it.

Your argument is full of holes, friend.

  • How sad are you, searching through coments to respond to, i sent that months ago.

You think because i wasn't given my life by some sky daddy that i should throw it away?

i wouldn't like to know what you would be like without your cult.

The Bible is full holes, my friend.

  • I didn't have to search through comments; yours was there on the first page.

I never told you I thought you should kill yourself.

Without Christianity, I'd probably be just another pushy, insulting, closed-minded Atheist.

Show me some "holes" that have ever carried enough weight to disprove the existence of God. I doubt you could come up with one that hasn't already been shut down by people smarter than the both of us.

  • The onus is on the person making the positive statement to come up with the proof, i cannot prove Unicorns don't exist but it does not mean they do(shut down that), or do you believe in them too? So it is for you who is basically saying Unicorns exist to prove it not i. Or do you not know how the Scientific method works?

I don't have all day to show you the holes in the bible, but you can easily search up for videos on here. Even debates between scripture between Atheists and Christians.

  • Athiests arn't closed minded where as you are, I'll explain...Should your God be proved then we would believe & happily start worshipping him but should your God ever be dissproved you would not change your beliefs as this would mean changing everything u ever believed in.

You seem to think coz we can't disprove God then he must be true. That's like saying the toothfairy must be true as we cannot dissprove it.

I take it you don't stil believe in the TF?

Who then has the closed mind?

  • If you would "happily start worshipping him" then explain the Atheistic opposition to the very idea that humanity would need a god. I hear from so many Atheists about how much they don't want or don't need a god... so much of it is personal rather than intellectual as you think it is.

Your generalization of my beliefs is laughable. What idiot would keep believing something that has been *proven* wrong? But you're right, no one can prove either way.

  • Athiests only insist in their being no God as there is 0 evidence for him. Athiests need proof before they believe. It only get's personal as we see so much evidence that contradicts there being a 'loving' God. I generalise you as i don't personally know you. You just generalised all Athiests by saying we all insist on their not being a Creator. The fact is most religious people will never give up their beliefs no matter what science discovers.

  • 29Gixxer, you really got patiente to explain when people dont want to listen :-). and you get a point there, is just so strange how people bind themselves ( well, they ar eproduct of the enviroemnt they grew in ) to believe on a God, or Gods, full of paradigmas, contradictory to its own image..

  • As I always say " and men ( listen here m-e-n not women"..) created God, on its own image and emotional structure ressemblance "...

Oh yes, to believe on God is not even closer to "open minded", is exactly the opposite, is closing yourselve to explore any rational explanation, going for the "supernatural" phenomena, or mythology that on this present time appears with the label "Religion".

  • Yeah as they say, one is born an Athiest, not the other way round. The mind has to be conditioned to believe in a God, not the other way round. Rationality needs facts before comming to conclusions.

What never seezes to amaze me is how their brains simply take all this in without questioning things. I remember they tried this with us at school when we were very young by seducing us to goto hymn practise with cakes. I could see through it at that early age and I am only of average intelligence:)

  • It must indeed need a special conditionament on a very early stage, because same happened to me when they started to present these things, the hsitories, the legends, etcec... only thing that I could think was " This is incredibly stupid and nonsense,", and i was only 6-7.. still amazes me to think grown up people would fall for it..is no different than reading Greek myths.. or believing on Santa Calus.. :-)

  • lol yes. I remember being invited to a party but they never told us it was in a church organised by the church ( I was about 6). I remember a look of horror on my dads face when i showed him the invitation but I didn't understand it at the time and my mum just said summin like 'let him go if he wants to'.

Whahaha I remember the dread as i turned up and was taken into the church. I hated the whole evening. It's sickening when you think about it.

  • I am only of average intelligence

    "ceases" - i could tell.

    jk, good post

  • lol spelling was never my forte :)

  • Atheists are indeed closed-minded... You refuse to even contemplate the very possibility that there is something you don't understand, simply because you can't prove it with the methods you've learned. In your mind you compartmentalize all Christians as childish and less intelligent than you, which is prejudice and akin to being racist or sexist. If you feel like having a philosophical debate, then leave out the condescension if you want me to take you seriously.

  • We know there's alot we don't understand, that's why we are trying to find out rather than invent some magical story. You being less intelligent than me is an incorrect way of putting it. YOU won't open your mind to the possibility that YOUR God is false. We simply want to find out the truth. This is an instinct that has been with humans since the dawn of mankind my freind.

So your no less intelligent than me, your just less open minded as you won't explore all avenues.

  • I agree theres Athiests who are stubborn and won't open their mind to the possibility of a creator but there's different kinds of Athiests. I persoanlly am Agnostic so believe there might well be a creator but I bet my families life it aint what you say - in other words jesus is the son of god.

You must be pretty self rightous to think humans are something special in the universe. Religion has the audacity to say man is made in gods image...

  • This is how all religion started

  • If only more people would think for themselves... sigh

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant! Nothing steals individuality like religious dogma. :-)

  • brian. an anarchist at heart.

  • "Yes, we're all diffrent!

    -I'm not.

    Shhhh."

    xDD

  • I love this guy haha

  • don't be followers, people!

  • Heh Heh Heh - "Yes. We're all individuals!"

Bloody brilliant! This clip is reminiscent of the Inauguration last Tuesday.

  • WHAT!! why not include the next 7 seconds of the movie..! You miss out the best part of the movie..

"He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!"

  • Thats Enough, Thats Enough. lol

  • "yes!! we're all individuals!!"

    total genius.

  • I'm not lol

  • Shh!!

  • I'm not

  • This here scene is so sad.

  • Brian trying to imbue the masses with existentialist thought. Classic scene.

  • Ammyai...think for your self..we are all different......listen to his words.

Chill out and free your mind from the shackles of religion.

  • hehehehe my comment has received -5

Must have been a good one!

You know what, I am actually thinking for myself. It was me of my own accord who chose to follow God - He had given me a measure of faith!

No one is forcing me to believe and love God - the God of the Bible!

I find Him to be good! Merciful and just! He is everything good, and nothing bad! All His judgments are good!

I have no shackles on me, I am free! Free to love Him, and worship Him!

Too many are slaves to sin.

  • so are the god we read about and yours the same thing cause yours sounds like kindof a dick....and that your a mindless robot slave spewing back what ever is told to you but whatever waste your life if you want personally id like to enjoy mine =D kthnxbye!

  • "the God of the Bible!" "He is everything good, and nothing bad!" - Heh, i guess those parts that say its okay to rape a woman if you pay the man is good, or its okay to stone your child to death for him being disobeying, or stoning someone for being gay, or..well you could go on forever, "the god of the bible" i
