  • Ritchie Blackmore, a.k.a The Man Without A Smile, a.k.a The Man In Black, a.k.a The Man From The Silver Mountain - Just The Great Guitar Player In The World!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow Ritchies playing makes me watn to play my electric guitar again

  • master ritchie blackmore

  • ritchie blackmore . aka bluebell . has been and still is a world class guitarist.

  • (cont.)

Having said that I enjoyed listening to the instrumental. There have been very few instances ever when I didn’t like my idol’s playing.

  • (cont.)

I suspect that Ritchie’s choosing to play the instrumental in the lighter style is unfortunately another proof that he is over with the hard rock, as opposed to his being faithful to the style of the original.

The biggest problem with that version, though, is the lack of flow on the rhythm part in it. The rhythm section sounds clumsy. I suspect that the performing musicians didn’t rehearse the instrumental enough to acquire the flow of its Shadows original.

  • I was a little disappointed. Ritchie should have played it rather in the hard rock style, like he did with Still I am Sad. To that end he should have played this instrumental with his fingers, as opposed to with the slide. That would have put an even bigger stamp of his musician personality on the instrumental. This recording is more in the Blackmore’s Night style than in Rainbow’s.

  • @Flankersquirrels You really love the sound of your own fingers. Of all the people on YouTube you get the award for typing the most pompous bollocks. I bet your a scream at a dinner party.

  • @PLEDGEY

I feel sorry for you , really i do.

  • @redcarpdog Hey guy...there's no need to feel sorry for me *worried anxious look on face*. I mean....i don't want you losing any sleep. You just forget allllllll about me, and the world will be a much better place for you. Trust me....take care now xxx

  • @PLEDGEY , thanks for your kind words :-). Actually I owe you an apology.. I thought I was respnding to the total inane highbrow bollocks that was posted by Flankersquirrels!! I must have had too much vino when I posted :-)

  • @redcarpdog No problem!. If you think what Flankers typed here is bollocks, then check out some squirrel hunting videos. This twat trolls them, and then threatens the people that makes them. He even says he's going to track people down and shoot them!. He's a white supremacist so you know he's full of wind and piss. Twat doesn't even own a gun, so i don't know how he's going to shoot anybody

  • I have been a huge Blackmore fan, long before most of his'fans' these days were born, there is no doubt he has played a very important role in the development of rock music, he has created some great music, particularly with Deep Purple, and he has been one of the greatest guitarists ever. Since the sad death of Hendrix, for me he was the greatest living guitarist until about 10 years ago. Beck. Morse and Brian Josh are the greatest now, Hendrix remains the greatest ever.

  • Ritchie Blackmore-the greatest musician on earth

  • To georgef76 , well said mate, such a brilliant Guitar player , can you imagine ranked 57 amongst Rolling stones best 100 guitar players. Without any intention to offend , two of the best clowns in Guitar namely Jeff Beck and EC get ahead eh?

What a pity this man did not get the recognition he deserved.

Like i said no intention to offend J Beck and EC fans , but my personal opinion both over hyped Guitar players.

Listen to the solo on Gates of Babylon.

  • @Roby1able or Stargazer, or A200, or Burn, or Highway Star, or Man on a Silver Mountain, or...well you get my point. Maybe Blackmore gets the snub because he was brutal with the media. Had he been easier to get along with and used the media to his advantage his reputation would be better. As it is, we fans know who the king of hard rock is, and it ain't Beck or Clapton or even Page. Without Iommi you wouldn't have metal and without Blackmore you wouldn't have hard rock as we know it.

  • @Roby1able

The Rolling Stone “experts” are imbeciles obviously. Ritchie Blackmore is the greatest rock guitarist ever. You have the gigantic talent – the pioneer of hard rock – Jimmy Hendrix; you have the outstanding guitarists Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck; but there is only one genius among them – Ritchie Blackmore.

  • Brilliant interpretation of this classic!

  • yes

  • BEST VSEMU

  • Blackmoore have the magic and fantasytalk with guitarsongs and things with guitar. Very deep maestro. Many big guitarist are small baecause they dont have the thing too get the solo and sound to the deeper thinking truth. Blackmorre . We are many who understand the Blackmoores deep and magic in our hearts. I love Ritshie Blackmoore.

  • @vinnd1

You are absolutely right. One of the aspects of his genius is the depth of his music; obviously a reflection of his human depth.

  • Forget Hendrix and Page. Blackmore is GOD!

  • wow, wow, this is going in my APACHE BEAT playlist, awesome, pure magical

  • Apache on the warpath !!! Woooo...........

  • ¡¡One word BRILLIANT ¡¡

  • A kitsch version with bottleneck , much better Hank Marvin.

  • A genius in his field!!,.... One of a kind.

  • is he using a bottleneck?

  • GR EAT VERSION BY RITCHIE.

CANDY IS SINGING IN THE BACKGROUND!

  • Superb!

  • Sliding Ritchie!!!!!!

  • awesome cover!

  • is the wonderfool production of ritchie

  • In interview I posted here Ritchie tells us about his guitar hero

    and he mentioned Apachi

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for posting this gem. Like the slides too!

  • Though an average guitarist myself , would def say R Blackmore is one of the finest therewill ever be, check out the amazing solo on Rainbow's Gates of Babylon , incredible drumming from Cozy as well

  • Excellent tribute from a guitar hero, to a guitar hero.

  • Twang! is one of the best cd´s ever. You should get it NOW!

BTW; I like this better than the original

Question: Is Tony using a Strat or his SG? does anyone know?

  • nice melody and good Ritchie)

  • Yes!

Tony Iommi - Wonderful Land and Brian May - FBI is also on my page!

  • @tour93 THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED WITH THIS GREAT TRACK!

  • @MrAtharbutt Cheers!

  • It's awesome cover, but check Tony Iommi's cover of Wonderful land, it's also wonderful

  • Been listening to all my DP & Rainbow cd's , what a guitarist he was ! His very underrated , he should be number 1 , 2 or 3 . His always much lower when there is a vote. Can keep on listening to all the cd's again. Love his fired up rock riffs & amazing solos. All the emotion & feeling in his work. How about Son Of Alerek, Not Responsible , Kill The King , Death Alley Driver, Stone Cold. The only other guitarist 's i like are Tony Iommi & Michael Shenker, but Ritchie is

    the best .

  • @georgef76

George. We alla know that Blackmore is nr.1.

Page, Hendrix, May, Iommi and much more other great players, but there can be just one fucking Blackmore.

  • Blackmore can play everything in his own style and make a gold version of it!

  • nice try different but .hank b. marvin is the master ok ja das gute muisque .anton

  • This is a tribute to Hank Marvin and The Shadows..not an attempt to be better than them.

Therefore your comment is pointless and irrelevant.

  • Blackmore eres mi amado!!!

  • le dices a blackmore al video o como?

  • Al brujo! El video hay que imaginarlo cerrando los ojos!

  • nice song, thx

  • nice, thx for oploading
